I was not a regular dentist goer as I was so scared and couldn’t even take my daughter. I first started going to NHS dentist about 4 years ago for check ups and hygienists and I have found everyone to be polite efficient and professional even in these challenging times. I asked to speak to someone at my check up last autumn as whilst I was happy with my top teeth my bottom teeth were over crowded, uneven and increasingly moving and were tricky to clean. This was when I met Dr Aya. She talked me through the process and reassured me and is such a calming, warm person that I actually looked forward to my visits. It was pretty incredible that despite several lockdowns between October and August (the time it took from my first consultation to the completion) not one appointment was missed or delayed. I found the retainers discreet and easy to use. The first 24 hours of each new tray was snug and sometimes achy but otherwise fine. Being at home for most of it made the high amounts of teeth cleaning much easier. Aya took lots of photos at the beginning and end but it was incredible to see my teeth changing over the months. I am absolutely thrilled with the change in my bottom teeth but also was as impressive with how much better my top teeth looked as well. It is a shame that we are still wearing masks as I do want to show off my new smile more. I am so pleased with how it looks. I would and have recommend both NHS dentist and Dr Aya to friends and family. From time to time I see a request for a recommendation for a dentist on Nextdoor and many people mention them so this is no secret!

I've been a patient at NHS Dentist in North End Road for more than 10 years. In my experience, of both NHS and private treatments, this is an exceptional practice! The front-of-desk staff are attentive, helpful and friendly. The dentists have always been consistently good, professional and in the know about the latest technology and treatments, but also caring and understanding. Since moving to Lewes I haven't found an NHS dentist nearby to replace them. So for now, it's well worth my travelling to be treated there!

The NHS dentist recruits dentists with compassion and care that understands the patients needs. I have been registered to this dentist since 2004 and I only have good things to report. I have recommended friends private and NHS whom have recommended their friends to this dentist as they always deliver an extremely high standard of care. I am under the care of Mr Viraj Patel who always goes above and beyond when treating both myself and my daughter. We always leave feeling happy even after treatment. I would like to give one hundred stars to this clinic because it's so amazing! Got a severe toothache last weekend and called 111 for an emergency appointment yesterday evening. Today, the clinic gave me a call in the morning and arranged an appointment an hour later. It turned out to be my wisdom tooth, and the doctor and nurse helped me remove it using only 5 minutes (although quite painful when moving it but I am delighted the problem finally got solved)! Thanks very much NHS dentist! It is a wonderful experience for me. The staff here are amicable and helpful. I would highly recommend this clinic.

The things I like about this dental surgery is that it's always very clean, even the toilets. The staff on reception are always friendly and polite. The other thing that I love and appreciate is that there's a variety of dentist that practice here which means more availability if you don't mind who you see. I have been attending this surgery for years now and I have seen a few hygienist here but on my last visit I saw someone called Camilla who was EXCELLENT, the best I've ever had. I most definitely will be booking her again.

I was there as an emergency as my dentist is always busy. I had broken wisdom tooth and need it to take it out. I was very scared as had so many bad experiences with other dentists. But Dr Yasmin Saeed and nurse Roxy were amazing from the beginning to the end. They were very understanding, patient with me and just so friendly. They calm me by playing my favourite band BTS and so comforting and talking to me to make me calm and just waited when I am ready. My wisdom tooth is out and I have no pain. This practice is the 5star of dental treatments in London. I have been a patient since they opened. The reception and appointments staff have always been considerate, sympathetic and extremely efficient particulary Alex in my case. I have to acknowledge the expertise of Hani (now left), Amir and Divya Vadher my current exceptional doctor. The dental nurses Dawid Rajchert and Priti Panesar are fantastic service providers as is their star hygenist, Gosia Dali-Bey with her great advice and cleaning techniques with the magic Tepe's has made my mouth a healthy speciman. No matter who you choose you will always be reassured of first rate dental care and solutions to any dental interventions you may need. I applaud them for carrying on during the Covid crisis and seeing to our needs as their hygiene procedures were extraordinary.

First time I’ve visited this practice having been disappointed with the previous dental practice I used to go to. I had chipped a tooth in November and booked in to see Viraj. Over the space of 2 visits, Viraj was diligent and did a fantastic job as well as managing to be extremely courteous, friendly and professional. On each occasion I mentioned that I had special meals booked in, and he ensured I was always left in a position to comfortably enjoy both. Viraj and his dental assistants were both fantastic and I would encourage anyone (as I already have done) to book in to see him.

Everything about this clinic is beyond amazing. You should feel fortunate enough if you have already registered here. I was suffering from a lot of pain, so I called NHS 111 to seek help, and I got like an instant call back from this clinic's reception team. They offered me an appointment for the next day, which is a life-saver. When I attended my appointment, the doctor helped me identify my dental problem, locate the root of my pain, and helped me by putting a temporary filling there. I honestly want to say a big thank you again to Dr Yasmin and Nurse Roxanne. Both of you were so gentle and kind and took the time to explain things to me and answered all of my questions with patience and kindness. You two are truly amazing. Saying from my own experience, I feel I was very lucky to be referred to this clinic to have my emergency treatment. I guess the only thing that could have been better would be the chance to allow me to register at this clinic and complete my future treatment here. However, unfortunately, the reception team said that they could not accept any new patients because they have limited capacity at the moment, which I hope this situation will change soon. Besides, I noticed that a few previous comments were complaints about no phone calls to remind them about their appointment times. With all due respect, I feel this clinic is doing a fantastic job already, especially in the current post-pandemic situation. Please be more cautious about memorising your appointment time since some of us cannot even register here anymore while you already have this privilege. Please cherish it.

I have been using this Dentist since it opened. Excellent service always. Had Phillipa until she left and wondered if I would get someone as good. I now have Afra who is fantastic! I also had someone else who's name I cannot remember whilst Afra was away and he was great too. Had to use their emergency services a couple of times and I could not fault that either. Hygenist services also very thorough with lots of advice about how to keep the mouth healthy and how to look after your gums-the hard bit is when you get home and have to put it into practice! The reception team are always very polite and efficiant. Long may the practice continue.

I've been going to the practice since 6 years ago. The environment is so friendly, staff amazing, from the management to the receptionists and all the nurses. Great Doctors, humanity is what makes them different from the other practices. I have to say that this practise is really wonderful. I called 111 and was send here to have my baby teeth extracted. I was welcomed in a very positive atmosphere. At the reception I received the best welcoming. The dentist called Anit Hayre was wonderful. She extracted the first baby tooth with zero pain. Two weeks later or so I went again and I was lucky to see her again. She hesitated to remove my baby teeth because the possibility to save it was there but I was in pain and I had to remove it. I am very sensitive to pain and having teeth pain is really something I go crazy about. Now I don't have any pain and I feel very happy. Thank you to all of you. God bless you for everything.

Update to my below review from 4 years ago as things can change. Delighted to say in this case it has not. I had some tooth pain over new year's and called on the first day back after the holidays, and was offered an emergency appt the same day. Amazing. Reception staff remain very efficient and helpful. The dentist was super knowledgeable and friendly, and the helper was polite and helpful although obviously in training. Tooth ache was explained well despite nothing appeared from the xrays, and I feel confident it's been solved with some re-mineralisation treatment applied straight away. I note they have replied to my old post saying they "have have been awarded Gold Standard in Infection Control by NHS England. We have regular infection control audits and training for our staff". Old review : Super busy but top quality. I feel very lucky to live nearby this clinic as I understand people travel for miles to come here. The two dentists I have seen over the years are both excellent (Paul George is currently still there) and the hygienist (de Rossi) is also very thorough and always on time. I've had emergency procedures here (when a filling fell out) and regular checkups. They were also able to assist with taking imprints to make me a new retainer. Reception staff have high turnover but they are all very effective with the volume of work they have to deal with and the nature of some of the enquiries (these guys are truly on the front line). Given the scale of this operation they are quite impressive albeit pretty brief in their interactions. I just hope the clinic's hygiene standards are good!!!

Had a really great experience at my urgent care appt today with Joanna Smith. After a traumatic experience receiving emergency care at another clinic over lockdown she put me at ease with care and a wealth of knowledge. I felt there were too many people in the waiting room for it to be covid safe but it's not like the reception staff weren't trying because they were. They do a difficult job but I still feel more people should have been told to wait outside especially as in some cases their appointment wasn't for another ten minutes. I counted 8 patients at one point all standing around the waiting area. Two without a face covering and not a single window open to ventilate what is quite an enclosed space. The dentist was good and I was glad that she wore a mask but she needed to get really close so would have felt safer if she wore a visor too. Still a decent dentists though.

I’ve been with this dentist for about 3/4 years. The staff are so friendly. Twice I’ve had teeth extracted. First time I was put to sleep and the second, I sedated because I’m extremely fearful of dentist. (Not done at this dentist) Today was the first time ever I tried to keep it together. Caroline and Viraj were honestly amazing, I met them once before to do a check up and they were so kind. I absolutely hated everything about today but they made me feel so much better, Caroline even gave me a jaw massage which I really appreciated. I have really strong roots that couldn’t be removed before, but Viraj somehow with lots of patience got all 4 out. I literally couldn’t believe it. I’m so grateful to both of them. They don't ring you the morning of your appointment, they expect a text is enough, what if you forget the text minutes after its received. At the moment Social Distancing is in operation here till its changed soon. Beware if you are on certain medication and need to have a tooth out Chances are you will get referred to go elsewhere.

My experience so far with my dentist Dr Divya Vadher has been nothing but superb. As someone with complex health issues I have so far felt I’ve been listened to and my concerns received sympathetically. Transparent billing no hidden extras and text/email reminders or alerts mean you should never miss your appointment. All the staff display a strong team work ethic and this shows that this has been cultivated by a well led practice management. My only regret is not finding this practice earlier, other NHS dentists could learn a lot from how this practice operates ! NHS Dentist has been my rock for years. How great it is to get such a high standard of care on the NHS. I feel very fortunate to have discovered this practise. It's run by a "great Dane" who has raised and raised the profile and excellence of the practice to the point where it's a bit of a model for how to do it. I like my current dentist a lot - she is so friendly and fun and all this with being smart as hell and totally in tune with developing research. I don't have a single bad word to say about the 20 years or so I've been in this practise. I come from a medical family and have a very good idea of what medical excellence is about, and these guys truly nail it.

So far my experience here has only been positive. My last appt was an emergency due to severe pain and after calling first thing I was advised to go in to the emergency walk in and after calling at 8:30am then going there within an hour I was in and out before 10:30am and great advice on how to stop the same thing happening again to my wisdom tooth! The dentist (I think his name was Rupert) was very nice and I was super nervous and in lots of pain and he helped me to feel comfortable. The nurse was super nice also. Also the receptionists were very friendly and I have dealt with some in other dentists who don’t even acknowledge you so I wouldn’t go anywhere else again! Thank you :)

Happy with the dental treatment I received here and the prompt appointment. I would have liked to have seen fewer people standing in the waiting room and reception staff wearing face coverings as it's impossible to pay without getting fairly close to them. I would also have preferred that my dentist greet me in mask and visor rather than put it on once we get to the dental room by which point they'd already got too close multiple times on the way down the stairs. It's not a great building for social distancing. Tight narrow corridors and staircases with people going up and down unable to social distance. Government guidance says in this situation face coverings should be worn but I didn't see that happening here. I don't want to catch coronavirus myself and I certainly don't want the elderly family I live with to catch it either.

I recommend NHS Dentist very highly. I have always had excellent treatment, both with Dr Nancy Yousef with whom I have regular dental check-ups and with an excellent hygienist whom I see every 6 months. I recently had something break off from one of my teeth while flossing them, and wanted to check as quickly as possible if it needed urgent attention, before my next regular check-up, which was scheduled for more than a month from now. So I phoned and asked if I could schedule an emergency appointment. I was told that they offer emergency appointments every morning and afternoon, on a "first come, first served basis", which you can register for by phone the previous day. So I booked an emergency appointment and arrived the next morning at 09:30, and was seen at 10:10 by one of the emergency specialists, Dr. Viraj Patel, whom I had not met previously. He looked at my tooth and confirmed that a filling had fallen out, and he said "I can do a new filling for you immediately if you wish". He repaired it all within 15 minutes, and when he let me look at it, the repair was so good that I could not tell which was the tooth he had repaired. And the price was very reasonable. This was really excellent service at such short notice.

I was always scared to go to the dentist, but this changed since I became a patient of Maryam. If I would have known that I would have come to her much earlier. I had such a tooth pain over weeks and no dentist, and I need to mention I’ve been to several practices, couldn’t help me. I was really suffering, drinking pain relief over weeks, and then I came to this NHS practice and she helped me. The pain stopped immediately and I got my normal life back. She is always smiling and friendly, even if I entered completely stressed into the practice, she managed to keep me calm and explained to me every step of the procedure. Every treatment was COMPLETELY painless and quick. And what surprised me is that she was afterwards really carrying for the state of the rest of my teeth. I still can’t believe that she managed to take away my fear!! Thank you 1000 times! About the practice itself: it’s been recently refurbished wich makes you feel more comfortable and relaxed. The girls from the reception are also very nice and helpful!

I've been a patient with them for 8 years, I have been treated for checkups and fillings by three of their dentists. I do not give good reviews often, but this establishment is an absolute industry gold standard example when it comes to process, efficiency, friendliness, innovative customer services and medical competence (as far as I can judge that). As you will have seen on their website, they have earned the highest reward from the British Dental Association (only a small handful of non-private dentist practices in London had that when I first signed up with them) and the Investor in People award (and their staff seem genuinely happy to work there which is very rare in medical practices in my experience). I don't know whether it's easier to run a dental practice than a GP practice, but I've had 4 GPs in these 8 years and none of them have had their practices run anywhere near as well as this dentist. I've stayed with this dentist despite moving 4 times and now living a 1.5 hr trek across the city. What I like especially: - they do not do unnecessary treatments but always operate on the 'if it ain't broken don't fix it' and 'try to preserve the tooth as much as possible' premise. - They keep good notes and try to keep your care under one dentist, so you feel like they actually remember you from one visit to the next - They have an efficient booking and alerting system, and answer the phone quickly, so it's easy to make and remember appointments - I cannot remember ever walking into the practice and not being greeted with a smile - The dentists explain everything to you and never do anything without your full consent after having explained everything clearly so you feel part of the decision making process - They have great customer quirks like 'shades' so you don't get blinded by that light they shine on you and putting a notice on the ceiling to remind you that you can give feedback

Been going to this dentist for nearly over 15 years and I have never had a single issue. It can get busy, and sometimes appointment times can be late, but the staff work very hard, always have a smile on their face (if you find them to be miserable, then you are the cause) and don't treat you just like another patient on the list. Ms Karimi has been my childrens' dentist since they were born, and they all love her and she has always made them feel looked after and reassured. Ms Yousef (my dentist) is simply brilliant to ininity and beyond! And hygienist Ms Schwartz is lovely to talk to, funny, and does a damn good job of cleaning and shining my gnashers :D Only tip: Book the hygienist well in advance...like a few months in advance, if you want the pick of the days and times. And be prepared to pay upfront. (And quite right, given that the hygienist is very busy and I'd imagine that short-notice cancellations help no-one.) Edited: Misplaced comma...

Absolutely amazing, DR HARRY DAVIS i meet today, is just brilliant, really taken care of me and comfort my iner child,😂, I was so scared and panic attacks quite few,😰 embarrassing😶.
