The girls on reception deserve a medal for the verbal abuse they endure. It’s truly like some people are unaware that we have just emerged from a pandemic. The dentist, dental nurse and receptionists were fantastic. Polite, reassuring. This was the practice on Cannon Street in Shirley. I continue to spend my life baffled by grown adults who behave like children. Amazing dental practice 5 stars this was a life line for me on that day. Dentist went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. It does make me laugh that someone suggested I would be ‘butchered’ at this dentist. As someone who used to be a dental nurse I have first hand witnessed the amount of people that neglect their oral hygiene and basic brush routine, then get upset when they leave their dental treatments till it’s an emergency and wonder why they have pain when the dentist does the best they could.

I found this a very useful 'Walk in' Dental Practice. The staff there are polite and appointment schedules are quite prompt. I went there to have a broken tooth extracted as an emergency 111 customer. The job was done quickly and with comfort. I will maintain contact with this Dentist as I have some possible future issues. I really like the staff at this practice. There is a lot of inefficiency with appointments. 2 have been cancelled and rearranged by yourselves. I have had to cancel my last appointment as it was too close to my last one and now have to wait 6/7 weeks for the next available appointment. I’ve been having extractions so you can imagine what my smile line is. I would suggest more dentists at this practice so could service your customers in a timely manner

I had an emergency, couldn't find any dental appointments, so I went to this walk in dental practice. the receptionist was amazing, quite helpful. I asked her if she could email me the X Rays, she did it straightaway. 5 stars for her. The Dentist had a good manner too, however, she unfortunately could not diagnose properly.

Amicable reception staff on arrival. Rang with the understanding husband would have to wait 3/4 hours as there was only 1 dentist on a Sunday. Fortunately not many people waiting so he was seen and had tooth extracted that was causing his toothache within an hour. Fantastic service. Thank you.

Had an emergency appointment with DAMIRA Shirley Dental Practice and although I was very nervous , they made me feel at ease and so much so , that even though l need to return for a tooth extraction, I’m sure they will again put me at ease throughout. Last weekend I actually had my tooth extracted and although l was very nervous , the Dentist and assistant were brilliant and I’m so glad I had it done at DAMIRA Dental practice. Emergency appointment with locum dentist due to a loose molar 🦷. Made eating painful at first then rapidly prevented any kind of chewing. Rang 8.25am appointment offered at 11.15am, was seen within 10 minutes of arrival. Tooth removed after a bit of a fight, the dentist calm and efficient. Couldn’t fault the team at Damira, it’s 5 stars from me.

I have been registered in this practice for almost 4 years. And just very recently I was able to find a good doctor there.. Dr William helped more this last week than any other Dr that saw me before. I have an abcess for about a year and the Dr (woman) that was following me for treatment never cared about treating it, and kept cancelling and reebooking appointments to extract a tooth. And Dr William now was able to see it and care about, and finally I have been given medication to treat it.

Had an amazing experience today at damira, was an emergency appointment was told to arrive at 8am and i was out by 9am after having an extraction. Reception staff was amazing & so friendly - Dr F Farshid was AMAZING!! 5* - he understood my problem and took my feelings in to consideration to make me comfortable with the extraction. I have got an emergency appointment with Damira Shirley Dental Practice. It was a very satisfying experience. My situation invlovled my wisdom teeth growing simultaneously at the same time. I have been granted with an appointment the same day. The receptionist was lovely and unfortunately I didn't get her name. Dentist appointment went smoothly and I received a very constructed information regarding my condition. Dentist was excellent and nice and so her nurse. Would definitely recommend this practice.

One of the nicest dental practices I've been to. I was referred to this practice by my usual dentist for a full-mouth x-ray, and the whole process went smoothly- within an hour of my referral I had been contacted to book an appointment for the following week. All staff were friendly and helpful. Appointments were running on time (I was in and out within 10 minutes). The surgery is nicely decorated and feels modern.

Ok, so a dental appointment during Covid and I have no complaints. Well organised and run, the staff greet you at the door, gel your hands with antibacterial gel, the staff were continually wiping down surfaces after a patient moved from one area to the next. The surgery is marked out clearly with where to stand, you are told where to sit and then you are escorted to your treatment room. I have to say everyone was polite, helpful and I felt safe. Mr Strom is just brilliant and my check up went well. Thank you. Update on post Covid check up in March 2022. Yet again I can only give Damira a five star rating. The reception staff are friendly, helpful and polite which is a real bonus when a dental appointment can make anyone feel anxious and out of sorts. Mr Strom is engaging and converses well with the patient which puts you at ease, all the dental nurses are polite and helpful too. The waiting and reception area is clean and well organised. I have to admit that I really don't mind going to the dentist and that opinion is due to the brilliant service that I receive from Damira in Shirley.

Visited on 31/03/21 for my first check up post COVID. All was very good and I did not feel concerned or worried in the least. They send you electronic forms to fill in and when you arrive they unlock the door to let you in. Waiting Room chairs are well spaced out and they cleaned the room and dentists chair between each appointment. Personally I love going to the dentist so I enjoyed my visit - I would have a filling without an injection. That said the dentist was very reassuring and explained before he did things - I just told him to crack on though.

It's difficult giving 5 stars to a dental practice :-). But I've been with Damira for some time now, first in Basingstoke and now in Shirley. Always pleasant and helpful. They explain what they're doing and why they're doing it. And I actually trust that they're recommending the correct treatment for me, and not just trying to get cash from the NHS. Overall great, fast, friendly and efficient at both check-in and check-up! Long waits for appointments though (nearly 2 weeks to check-up and more than another 4 weeks to treatment appointment) and broken filling not patched to protect inside of tooth while waiting for repair appointment date to arrive, which will take the time span of the total exposure of the inside of the tooth up to around 6 weeks by the repair date appointment. I can only hope that the tooth does not decay through the broken filling to the point where it becomes painful, or to a point where more extensive repair or even extraction become necessary; hence one star deducted. Hopefully, relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions will soon start to make speedier check-up and treatment appointments safely possible.

I would like to say thank you, to the receptionists, nurses and dentist dr williams. I braced my anxiety and fear and came alone as a triage emergency after chipping my tooth on a waffle!! I had an initial consultation with xray, and was given my opinions, which I was happy with. A week later (today), and my poor cracked tooth has been pulled. I am so very grateful that the tooth was taken out, the dentist made sure I was in no pain, he was very kind and even though the tooth put up a fight he got it out. I have great aftercare advice too. I really do appreciate the kindness from all the staff. Please keep up the kind work, I know many years ago I had a very bad experience with a European male dentist here, but I do believe this place has made changes. Only thing I would change is instead of ringing when you arrive, have a door bell (that can be wiped down after each patient) and a small tanoy system. This would save a lot of trouble with waiting a long time outside. I remember waiting 20 minutes to get in a few months ago.

The whole experience was great. Most important Dr Williams is a best dentist and the nurse who was assisting was great help. They made me feel very comfortable. I had my wisdom tooth pulled out which I heard could be quiet a job, but the whole thing went really smooth and I did not feel a thing. Very polite staff all of them. I was a bit disappointed that I was only given a temporary filling when dentist knew tooth should come out ,so couldn't understand why she just didn't take out. Yes filled hole but tooth still giving me some pain or a feeling of pressure on tooth all time. Yes did get given stronger painkillers and antibiotics but still need to take ibuprofen as well.

I haven’t seen a dentist for around 6 years due to bad experiences and a panic attack in the chair last time I went. Today I had no choice but to go as an emergency walk in patient. I cannot praise all the staff highly enough. I explained to the lovely lady on reception how scared I was and was reassured I had the right place. I was advised the wait would be 3-4 hrs as Friday is a busy day. I was seen within 2 hrs. I could barely speak when I got in the chair, but that didn’t matter. The dentist and wonderful dental nurse made me feel calm even though I was shaking and had no voice. Thank you. Thank you so very much!

Thank you Damira at Shirley. Went there in an emergency and had to wait but that was to be expected. As soon as I was seen they made me feel at ease and seemed cari g and professional. I am from Yorkshire and working down here so was a worried they wouldn't take me. They told me to register and after a nice chat about my treatment I left with appointments booked and reassured about my dental problem(it was major by the way). This was in November. Unfortunately and not their fault I got a abscess 2 days after Xmas day and was in total agony. Went and they not only saw me within 2hrs but eased my horrific pain and left with antibiotics. Forward to my appointment I was told in layman's terms exactly what was going to happen and was treated with dignity and care. Every time I have been there I have been treated with care and professionalism. Great dentist,friendly helpful staff and The one and only NHS. Thank you Xenia and her beautiful assistant.

We walked in at 6pm as my daughter had use too much dental cement to glue fake fangs on her teeth as part of a costume and couldn’t take them off (had them on for over 24 hours). We did try to call ahead but no answer. The ladies at reception were lovely and did explain that patients with appointments had priority which o think is very fair. My daughter was seen an hour and a half later (waiting time said 2-3 hours) and the dentist was lovely and popped them out within a couple of minutes. We all had a laugh as it was a the first time with such a ‘case’ for them. Would highly recommend!!

My experience at Damira Dental Studios was really good I can say. I am very satisfied with their professionalism and the provided services. Staff was really friendly. Amazing service. My wife chipped her from tooth on the eve of us flying to Italy to shoot a wedding. We were greeted by a lovely receptionist and was warned a 2 to 3 hour wait. Having phoned 111, and after they competently qualified my emergency, I was told that Damira Dental Walk-in Centre was the closest open emergency dentist on that Sunday. I had a severe abscess infection which left me with a swollen cheek that was enormous and with constant throbbing pain. Having managed to get a booking for 11H45, I arrived at the centre at 09H45 due to my desperate state and was met with a full reception area with people, each waiting for their time to be seen. At 10H30 I was being diagnosed and given the prescription to resolve my immediate condition. From the receptionist to the nurse/technician and the resident dentist, all were very professional and all very efficient and compassionate to everyone there. I have only brilliant things to say about this group of individuals. All were empathetic, professional and extremely efficient in their duties to everyone present. It' good to see that service and being humane can still coexist in an environment where there is so much suffering and pain. It is now Tuesday and my condition is but a mere memory. I will definitely be recommending and seeking their professional services for me and my family.

Having a toothache on a Sunday evening is not the best time, I was sent here by 111. I did have to wait an hour or so, better than going though the night with toothache. Pleasant receptionist, dental assistant and the dentist even gave me options on treating the toothache. My only negative-- it would help if reception had a little more knowledge of where the late night chemist was or even had the information leaflet that said it was BOOTS in West Quay. My partner and I, hadnt seen a dentist for over 9 years. She has a fear of needles and had to have 2 extractions and I had to have an extraction, filling and scale and polish at this place, which was done in one sitting. We are both very nervous patients but the dentist we saw, Nimee, was brilliant and makes you so comfortable. The whole episode was pain-free. Highly recommended to people who are apprehensive/scared about seeing a dentist. We will both be definitely returning for our 6 month check-up :)

We used this NHS-Walk In centre this Friday as our regular dentist could not fit us in until next week, 5 days away. The dental pain was really, really bad, so we got there at 8am after being directed by NHS 111. We were seen by Mandy the Dentist who was extremely good. She diagnosed a big abscess and prescribed antibiotics and advised us on what to next. The board advised a 3 hour wait (understandable), and we expected to wait that long as it is looked busy and we were not part of the practice's patients. But we were seen in 30 minutes once we registered - so A REALLY BIG THANK YOU to the whole team there, we were so pleased to see somebody that could tide us over the weekend!

After trying to get an emergency appointment through the NHS 111 line I had a referral to The Shirley Dental Walk In Centre. I had no appointment & told the staff at reception my problem,who were very pleasant and handed me 3 forms to fill in. They did say I was in for a long wait due to several emergencies that day, I was prepared to wait to sort the pain. After only waiting 30 mins I was seen by a locumb dentist as there was 2 people that never turned up for their appointments. The dentist was great & diagnosed my problem as an abscess & prescribed me with penicillin & advised me to book an appointment asap with my own dentist.!! Even though my toothache was not sorted I received a good service for a fee of £19. I only rated it as 3 stars due to having to put up with the pain another 2 days to see my own dentist

Such a baby when it comes to the dentist, but from the moment I walked in I was greeted by Audrey the receptionist, she was lovely and kept reassuring me, had a little wait, which was expected being an emergency patient. I am just posting to respond to some of the posts and clarify the service we provide as this may help everyone to understand why some treatments aren't carried out, if you aren't one of our registered patients and are seen as an emergency walk in we will do whatever we can in that appointment to get you out of pain often this means there isn't time to carry out a permanent fix so you are therefore advised to go back to your own dentist to have the work carried out or you could register with ourselves and have the permament treatment carried out, regarding waiting times we do get a high volume of walk in patients and we also have our own patient clinics running, we do try to keep waiting to a minimum but it's very difficult to manage at times when there are a number of people attending, if you do have any issues with the service though please call the practice and speak to the practice manager Lauren Taylor
