Every woman should feel important, valued and respected as I did during my appointment. If Maggie could be cloned into every medical professional, then all UK citizens would enjoy improved health. Once you finally get through the doctors are very good and helpful, but often try for days on end and can’t manage to get an appointment. When I do call, I am caller number 45 in a queue and eventually phone get cut off. Have to be really fortunate to get through and book for the same day.

I had an opportunity to be seen by Nurse MW during my appointment, she was awesome. I never knew a routine smear test can be done so quick with no discomfort. Ladies book in for your regular smear test. You will be in good hands, Nurse MW is gentle, professional, caring and takes time to make the whole process easier and quick.

I had my Covid vaccination booked for a Saturday morning, on the Wednesday before my booked appointment, a very nice lady rang me and asked if I could attend that day instead, which I did. I was greeted at the door , I had everything explained to me in plain English, not all technical terms. I was shown to a room where I received my vaccine, all I can say about the lady who did my vaccine was she was a total expert, I never felt a thing and I am not the best where needles are concerned. I will say that every member of staff I have ever dealt with at Great Barr Medical Centre are pure professionals and extremely approachable.

COVID JAB My husband and I have just had our first jab here with the wonderful Jill! Both Jill and her colleague (sorry, didn’t catch her name) met us at the door with a very warm welcome. They were expecting us so greeted us by name. They instantly made us feel relaxed. This was great as both of us are a right pair of babies when it comes to injections. Jill took us into the consultation room where she sat us down and thorough went through the procedure, asked us the questions required to ensure it was safe for us to have the jab and finally discussed side effects and what to do should they occur. The jab itself was totally pain free, hardly even a scratch. Thank you for a positive experience guys. Xxx

Bigger directional signage outside & in can be clearer especially during Covid. As people like delivery driver tried to come through Covid clinic!

I had my Covid vaccine here on Saturday. It was so well organised, I was greeted at the door, temperature checked and hands sanitised, before being given my appointment card with details of my vaccine type, batch number and date of next vaccination. I was then directed into the consultation room. Tge doctor greeted ne, explained what I was about to have, checked my details and hey presto all done. I left via a separate exit so no-one crossed paths. Was very impressed with tge service and would recommend all invited to go.

I have been with this practice for over 17 years, where I have received excellent care up-to now. Appointments are hard to obtain however, that’s the problem with good serving surgeries where patients are well served by doctors. This surgery is staffed with competent, caring and attentive doctors. I feel that I am privileged to be able to access this practice. I can’t speak highly enough of the doctors at this surgery. The office and front desk staff are helpful, polite and respectful. I would definitely recommend this practice to my friends and family. I can't fault the doctors at this practice. They take your medical concerns seriously and take prompt action to try to resolve the issues. Both Dr Ratti's have sent me for prompt tests, the most recent of which prevented a 'headscratching' condition from becoming life-threatening. All doctors are approachable and the nurses are also very good. I cannot fault the care received at this practice.

Have been with this practice for 15 years since I moved to the area. The staff are brilliant they have always gone the extra mile for me and my family. Dr Ratti is a brilliant doctor and really cares about his patients. Fully trust his opinion. The online service to book appointments is really simple to use and allows me to select appointment a few weeks in advance and to order my repeat prescriptions. The pressure on the nhs is obvious to see in everyday life, they do not have endless amounts of money. We should be grateful we have a service like this and having to wait for an appointment is not unrealistic. It is a reality which has to be accepted and we should appreciate the service we have. Whilst the DR I see here is amazing, the receptionist staff let the service down terribly. I have called multiple times trying to get an appointment to have bloods taken only to be told there are no appointments available. I asked where else I could go as the matter is urgent and was told I could collect paperwork to go to Sandwell hospital the next day. I arrived at the doctors surgery at 18:20 to collect the paperwork only to find it shut and the pharmacy staff informed me they regularly close early if there are no patients left to see. Not acceptable when they advertise and tell you they are open until 18:30 and doesn't reflect the fact that they are always fully booked for appointments. I collected my paperwork the following morning and arrived at hospital to be told they'd asked for a fasting sample. The receptionist did not inform me it would be a fasting sample and therefore I have to wait another day to have bloods taken and take yet another day off work. The phlebotomist stated this is a regular issue and apologised for my wasted journey, although none of this was her fault. The front desk staff at Great Barr Practice have let down other services and it's such a shame for the wonderful doctors and nurses they are there to support. The 3 star review is solely due to the balance of fantastic medical staff here.

Brilliant once you get to see someone. But making an appointment or getting through to them is a nightmare from my experience. You only can call in the morning for appointments and there is extremely long queues. Not ideal when you have to go into work and can't hold.

Everyone has nothing but praise for Dr Ratti (Male), but what about Dr Kandola? In my opinion, Dr Kandola is THE BEST doctor at this practice. He has helped bring my high blood pressure and my high heart rate under control and I cannot thank him enough. Also, I managed to persuade my fiance to change over to this practice - he'd been with Tower Hill Medical Centre with a useless doctor whom I'd been rather disgusted with after hearing the way he'd treated my fiance. Now he is under Dr Kandola, same as myself, and he's done more for my fiance in the short time he's been with him than this doctor at Tower Hill. Whenever I ring up for an appointment, I always ask for Dr Kandola. He is an excellent doctor, always listens to you and tries to help you in any way he can, and he doesn't try to rush you either. My fiance and I cannot rate Dr Kandola high enough, he is brilliant and I don't know what I'd do if he ever left. Many thanks Dr Kandola for all you've done for us so far, it's very much appreciated.

I understand that the NHS struggles and appointments are harder to get but the practice try there very best and this shows in the range of new staff they have brought to the practice. She was so warm, reassuring and actually explained the process; which I have never had in all my 45 years. All my smears have been painful, except for today, I actually had to ask " Was that it".
