I have had nothing but a fantastic experience with Barclay Medical in Maryhill Health Centre, the patient care and service is second to none. There have been many times over the past few years, when other practices are churning out texts saying they have no appts and patient care is reduced, Barclay has come through time and time again. I deal with all my husband’s medical issues such as prescriptions, appointments etc etc. On the occasions where he’s run out of something last minute, a call to reception or speaking to staff then it gets resolved so easily and this has absolutely not been my experience in other practices. Even during this difficult time, where COVID has placed the NHS in a very difficult position, Barclay still seem to maintain efficiency and patient care. I have so many examples over the past 5 years of this, Sharon (staff) in particular, can’t do enough to help and in difficult times this is very much appreciated. Lastly, I popped into the surgery and asked if a GP could call my husband’s pharmacy to release his medication, which is dispensed weekly, a day early. I left the request with Sharon, I left thinking that it would probably be a few hours before this would happen which is perfectly reasonable. I was barely back in the car when the phone was ringing…it was the GP confirming his prescription would be released. I can’t stress how much this is absolutely not the norm unfortunately in other practices…I am super grateful for everything they have done and continue to do, they are a remarkable practice and the staff are amazing.

I had a visit today and dealt with nurse Margaret, she was beyond fantastic. She was friendly, polite, and a lovely person. My procedure was the best I had ever experienced and I sincerely hope she gets the recognition she deserves, she is amazing at her job and by far the best nurse I have ever dealt with at this practice.

Had to give a urine sample in the sole toilet and there was no soap to wash my hands. 1 month later there's still no soap. Pandemic isn't it? Masks and antibacterial rubs but no rubs or soaps. Very unsafe but very busy! Nice staff and a number of good doctors and nurses

I had an exceptional experience during my visit to this practice for multiple injections as I am travelling overseas. Booking my appointment with Ellis was very easy. She was extremely helpful and accommodating as I work 9-5 Monday to Friday and was able to arrange a weekend appointment for me in short notice. Sister Kelly who administered my injections made me feel welcome and put me at complete ease and explained everything to me in great detail. The practice itself is immaculate in a very modern setting.

Have been with the surgery several years never have I had any problems that i couldnt sort myself , but of late i have had some experience with Reception/Admin Staff with their attitude when you try to get an appointment you wouldnt be calling out with the 8.30 time slot if it wasnt an emergency or being so unwell they need to understand this & that they are not a G.P to play doctors with your life for them to decide if ur unwell or not i never complain but I feel this matter needs to be addressed as they don't like to being spoken to like that

In a long life in many places this is the best family medicine practice I've ever encountered. Staff are busy but always helpful and friendly. Doctors concentrate on big things and small and are very reassuring in emergencies. It is also easy to see a doctor, which can lower anxiety a lot, whatever your condition. This is best practice being practised - it should be a model to be emulated for the future.

Absolutely great staff and doctors are really amazing especially Doctor's Mcbride and Mckenzie, but to be fair all other GPS have been really great too. Jamie Michael Kim Nicky and all the reception team for the Barclay practice can't do enough for the patients.the feedback and commitment to the patients is top priority. 👌❤️😁

For me The Frontline staff have always been helpful and approachable.Thats been in the the past and more recently the last 10 days That goes a long way when dealing most times with people who are not always in the best of health . Have always had positive experiences. Always able to make an appointment quickly and staff have always been helpful and caring. Late opening to 7 as well as Sat am opening make things easier for people that have to work 9-5.

Busy wee practice but the staff are always available to assist in any way they can...I had to make an appointment to see the physio and Ben and Nikki on reception where great in getting me slotted in,I work very antisocial hours so making time for appointments can be difficult,I quickly got to see the nurse Jean who referred me to physio and after a consultation in there I have now been referred to podiatry, all in all a good patient journey from our wonderful nhs..
