Reviews of Northcote Surgery
S.As a patient at Northcote for the last 4 years, I only have good things to say about this practice. The doctors are incredibly nice and I have always felt that they have been delivering a high standard of care to me. Since the pandemic, the phone consultations have been really useful, so credit to the staff who are making the appointments and to the doctors who have always been upbeat, excellent listeners, and solution-orientated on the phone call appointments with me (2 of them). Prescriptions were quickly arranged with my local pharmacy. I would not hesitate to recommend this practice, hence why I am leaving this review.
H. H.Northcote is a kind, caring practice. Great at listening to me and going above and beyond. Really sweet on the phone. I'm not used to such politeness so each exprience has given me more trust and confidence. It's hard at the moment with long wait lists and everyone is strained so I thank you for being there in such difficult circumstances. Sending best wishes to all.
P. F.I find the negative comment on Dr. Dawes truly astonishing. I have known Doctor Dawes for decades. Dr. Dawes has treated me and my parents superbly and is a gem. He is one of the most professional, compassionate, dedicated, and personable Doctors anyone could wish to find. In my experience all the other Doctors and staff I have dealt with at Northcote, are all great too
C. C.This surgery is fantastic, anytime I've called them needing to be seen on the day they've been able to give me an emergency appointment within a few hours. The one time they were unable to see me face to face they had a doctor phone me and do an over the phone consultation after which I was given a prescription. I've heard some horror stories in my time of people who have had such an awful time with their surgery but I can honestly say I can't relate. I will never leave here if I can help it.
V. G.This has been my GPs since they were based in Highborough Road. I have seen good doctors retire but I must say Dr Dawes , once the young one,is a fantastic GP. From comming to my house to give me an anti-vomit jag the week after my son was born to helping cope with my mother's death.l find all the doctors in the practice very professional and also very aproachable.Where I now live I have a Doctor 's Surgery 1 minute walk away,however I would much rather go to Northcote.
S. i. S.I have a very complex ailment I feel very well looked after at Northcote both at the surgery and in my home, I can only say thanks to the wonderful support staff and the doctors and nurses.

R. B.Yesterday
I went to the toilet at 5.00.a.m and couldn't pass urine. Saw the doctor who after examining me phoned for an ambulance which took me to The Royal Infirmary where they catheterised me and gave me a very thorough check up. They think that it is a urinary infection so gave me antibiotics. So no G&T for a week. I have to keep the catheter in for a month or more with a bag on my leg. So for a while I can say "Its in the Bag!"
I can't thank enough my GP the ambulance team and the great team at the Royal. Thanks to Craig who inserted the catheter and the lovely Chinese lady who took all the bloods then the Irish consultant who allowed me to go home
Not being able to pee for almost 8 hours is not to be recommended.
We must protect the NHS in Scotland from the predatory Westminster government.

L. H.I have been a patient of this surgery for over 20 years. I have to say I have never had to complain , in fact the past few years they have been absolutely fantastic Dr's ,nurses, and office staff, considering we had a pandemic, getting prescriptions is no problem, and i even got a few 'essential' appointments during covid , I would say the wait for an appointment is a bit long , even just for test results, but on occasions I have been seen or spoke to within half an hour or the next few days. One Dr in particular is amazing Dr Vaidya , she actually listens to you and does everything she can to get to the root of a problem, i am so grateful for all that she has done for me over the years . Great practice .
