Your average GP practice. Some good staff, some not so. Don't be scared to try different staff if need be. Can be a delay getting appointments but that is the new normal due too few professional staff available , worsening funding and commissioning. People generally all wear masks when here.

I've had quite variable experiences. On the plus side: They usually have my medication in stock, there is plenty of seating in the waiting areas and the toilets are clean and well maintained. The doctors are usually helpful and listen, though the strategy seems to be to dispense a sequence of medications till they hit the target. This is not always a success and has led me to give up on some ailments and just put up with them. I rarely need referring to a different arm of the NHS for tests or a second opinion but they have done this when needed. On the negative side: The website seems a little labyrinthine and hard to navigate. The ambient music and adverts are too loud making it hard to hear the appointment message. Some reception staff are reluctant to attend to patients at the counter, actually walking away and chatting to other staff and I've had the same experience with the staff on the pharmacy desk. They see I am waiting and wander off even though they have been quite happy to chat to the person ahead of me in the queue. I suffered chronic sleeplessness for years after being prescribed Tramadol for pain and the doctor never connected this with the Tramadol. Once I stopped taking Tramadol I had no problems sleeping. There seems to be a high staff turnover too as I rarely see the same staff twice. I am trying to get my nominated pharmacy changed to another one but this seems to be a problem despite two requests. I shall keep trying.

Brilliant service my husband has been really ill with covid i can't praise Ireland Wood Surgery enough !!!! The care and understanding of the doctors have been great. This has been my gp practice for a long time i wouldn't go anywhere else. I'd like to add we came for for some more medication because my husband had run out i ordered at 4.30 it was done and waiting at asda pharmacy at 6 pm well done and thank you so much.

I have recently joined the surgery as a patient And cannot praise the service enough that I have received. I have had treatment from the doctor and the nurse just recently and it has been of the highest standard. Very impressed with all the services the surgery provides All the staff are friendly, professional, understanding, explain what they are doing and treat you with respect I was with my previous doctor for about 40/50 years and was nervous about moving practices but the treatment I have received ensured I have no regrets at all about using Ireland Wood Surgery

The reception staff are always friendly and courteous and helpful whenever I've phoned the surgery. I can usually get an appointment to see a GP of my choice although I have to wait a bit longer for that. However I can get a telephone appointment with my GP much quicker and that's usually fine for me for most things. The GP I see is open, friendly and listens to what I have to say and that's important to me. I have regular injections and bloods taken lately. The nurses are all lovely and the HCA who takes bloods is too.

Can not understand all the negative reviews as my family and I have experienced nothing but great care,the G.P's that we have seen are really lovely,caring and take time to discuss things with you. Normally get seen on time or thereabouts. Have found the ladies and the gentleman on reception very friendly and efficient. Coming from a great surgery due to a house move we were worried,there was no need. Ireland Wood surpasses them in every way.

I had need to speak with the back office staff to discuss requirements for insurance underwriting purposes and I cannot thank Sue enough for the most courteous and professional manner in which she resolved my query. Indeed it was my expectation to have to take valuable time away from my practice Doctor by making an appointment to see him , but Sue gave sufficient information that fully met my needs and those of the underwriters. Thank you again Sue for not only your friendly and helpful advice but for also taking just a little extra pressure away from the already busy but similarly helpful doctors.

A really good practice. A very clean, modern building with free on site parking, a pharmacy and optician. The building is accessible to all with a lift to the first floor. All the staff team, from reception area to nurse's and doctor's are friendly, helpful & respect confidentiality. Medical staff go the extra mile to ensure patients get the best possible treatments and care. There's also very a good PPRG that meets regularly and is well attended by patient's from Ireland Wood Surgery and The Croft as well as the Practice Manager and Dr reps from both surgeries.

Just to say thank you to the Dr's, Nurses, and all other staff at Ireland Wood. The service I have recieved before and especially throughout lockdown as been excellent. I also use `Patient Access' for my repeat prescription with the Chemist, that too has been super efficient!! Thank you everyone!!

I have nothing but positive things to say about this surgery and the staff I have had dealings with. For the most part appointments run on time but I do think it is realistic to always expect a small delay. The surgery itself is very clean and has plenty of parking.

Today stood for 20 minutes outside at back door as instructed by receptionist. In my 88th year disabled with serious spinal problems I found this a challenge. On mentioning this told It s possible to sit in reception. How are we to know this when no communicates this until it’s too late..?.

Ive had nothing but great service here. Clean and friendly, caring staff. Does take a while to get through on phone but they make you aware of that and offer online alternative to booking appointments
