Every so often there are criticisms of GPs in the National Press; GPs are currently (Sept 2021) being criticised in the Daily Mail etc. I have been a patient of this practice for many years and have invariably had any issues dealt with quickly and courteously; sometimes it has been the GP, on others a Receptionist or Practice Nurse. It is easy to get an appointment at a time that suits me and I have always felt that whoever has seen me has given me the time that I needed and dealt with me in a very professional and caring manner. I suspect that there are some practices and some individuals for whom the criticisms are justified but this practice is not one of them. If you are lucky enough to live in Oakwood I would recommend this practice very highly

For an NHS clinic this is a good one. Reception staff and nurses are excellent, respond quick and provide quality service. Facilities are modern and well-looked after. I really like the online account where you can see all your test results, which saves time calling to reception. Dr Mattam and Dr Venters are knowledgeable, the other 2 doctors not so much... There are still areas for improvement, but overall if you are looking for the NHS GP clinic, this is the best one that can be found in the Oakwood area.

A very caring and organised surgery. The doctors are supportive and caring. The staff are very polite and helpful . It must be hard during these times and I am very grateful to them. I have felt very poorly and the doctors have persisted with pain medication until it was manageable. Thankyou all.

I have a good comparison with my previous clinic. Oakwood Surgery is a small clinic with friendly and helpful staff. REAL doctors work here - with vocation! They will listen and take care of you with attention and empathy. I definitely recommend it.

A very good surgery managing in very difficult circumstances. Despite the national reduction in funding and under resource of available GPs, the GPs, nurses and admin team have provided consistently very good care and good availability (if you have realistic expectations) for me and family. Keep up the good work. Regarding the other reviews, some of the comments seem unfair. I think being asked for your thoughts on what's going on seems very good communication and involves you in a shared decision making process. Who records the consultations without knowledge of the other party? GP consultations are based on mutual trust......
