I honestly feel so lucky to have a GP practice like this. All the permanent GPS that work there are very kind and efficient. They have helped me and my son with a range of problems. They take mental health seriously and practice with compassion and empathy, non judgement, take time to listen and show concern. When considering the stress the NHS is under - is outstanding. The reception staff are reasonable and respond in a timely manner to emails - always on the same day and are very helpful. Repeat prescriptions easy to get with no fuss. And Dr Hijazi who is our main GP is someone that truly cares, listens and responds ! I hear GP horror stories but this is not one of them!

I always find the receptionists very nice and helpful. It used to be hard to get an appointment but now that everything's mostly on the phone it's better. The doctors and nurse there are very professional, understanding and efficient. 0 complaints.

Spent two years with the practice and have only good things to say about them. It happened to be 2 years, where I actually found myself in need of hospital care, and I was very quickly referred by a GP. Whenever I've had appointments (always with a different GP), I've always been treated with care and attention. Nurses have also been very attentive and professional for tests and screenings. Whatever my concerns have been (and they have included sports injuries and conditions in need of further treatment/assessment), I felt looked after and in good hands in this practice. I very much recommend it. I cannot comment on a specific practitioner as my appointments were almost always with a different GP, but they all were really good. I have rarely had to deal with reception staff as everything can be booked online and I always registered at the screen upon entry. The few instances I had to interact with them, they were helpful.

Update: The previous review I had left was at an extremely emotional challenging time, and I was feeling ignored and helpless. However since then and the loss of my mum, I have found the Reception Manager to be the opposite of how I previously described her! She has shown her caring, kind and compassionate nature whenever I have contacted the practice. I have left the previous review below to highlight how circumstances and situations can feel at the time and with a little time the ability to see clearer returns. The reception manager is rude, unprofessional and obviously doesn't care about peoples wellbeing! On several occasions I have had the unfortunate pleasure of having to speak with her and on each occasion her attitude and professionalism leave a lot to be desired. I understand that the role she has can be extremely challenging however she should not take her frustrations out on patients whom she has no idea of what is wrong with them. On a positive note her recruitment process is good as the other receptionists are warm welcoming, helpful and friendly.

The care they showed me today was priceless. I had such a good visit from two doctors and they also find me a spot for blood analysis in less than one hour. I don't go to the GP very often (luckily) and I am always a little concerned about NHS efficiency, but recently both at the clinic and the hospital I found professional and trained nurses/doctors. Thank you very much for all of your help today!!

I have never had a negative experience here. It’s by far the most organised, efficient, and thorough practice I’ve been to. The drop-in clinic in the morning is brilliant. The doctors are thorough, attentive, perceptive, and kind. The extra services (nurses, phlebotomists, counsellor, receptionists,etc) have all been absolutely wonderful. Due to my complex medical history/ongoing problems, I have spent a lot of time in the surgery, and can wholeheartedly recommend. Thank you so much to the Newton team!

My experience of Newton Medical centre, is one of high regard. The staff have always been helpful and knowledgeable. I have experienced several doctors at the centre and not been disappointed by their expertise. By my understanding, this is uncommon in the NHS system. It is possible to receive test results online and repeat prescriptions, as well as book and cancel doctors’ appointments. This is useful if you do not have access to a phone or are unable to make phone calls during workhours. There are also walk-in appointments that one can make in the morning. In general, there is a short waiting time before appointments.

I am proud to be a patient. Dr Gordon is an excellent doctor, they ensure you see your doctor if he is there. The support staff are always pleasant and helpful. I cannot comprehend someone giving a good review and only TWO stars..........

Have been registered with this surgery all my life moving with them when it was originally on Bishops Bridge road . Iv seen many changes over the years . The Doctors Dr Wray , Dr Simmons ,Dr Gordon to always be very thorough and inclusive in my care . No question is to much to answer . The care of both my parents nobody could of asked for better . The nursing staff are also very approachable and will advise without given you a hard time about things . Over the years reception staff have come and gone ,Jackie who has been with the practice for years is friendly professional and is willing to help as much as possible . The new reception staff can come across very rude and unapproachable , I feel that every patient should be treated as an individual with curtesy and respect . questions answered in a polite and respectful manner . Dealing with patients can be very stressful and at times I have no doubt the staff deal with some very difficult patients . Saying that when they move onto a new patient conduct yourself professionally . I phoned the surgery recently and the person that dealt with my enquire was plain rude without given me a full explanation behind His NO answer . Saying this the surgery is wonderful . I do think it's time they stop taking on so many new patients as it can take 2+ weeks to get an appointment to see the Doctor you require .

Having relocated from SW London 1 year ago, I was not sure where to even begin finding a new GP. I came across Newton Medical Centre when a friend, who lives in the area, recommended them. I CANNOT express how impressed I have been with the Newton Medical Centre service. I can usually get an appointment in a few days (my previous surgery was AT LEAST 1 week), if not; there are walk in appointments available in the mornings to which I have always gotten one - with the longest wait 1h10min. Every experience I have had since have been incredible. The reception staff are kind and compassionate and actually listen and help you. I had a case where I needed to be referred to an ENT specialist, before my appointment Dr Gordon called me back (after speaking to a specialist - I never actually expected him to call back). I missed the call and he left a voicemail, I never got back to him and promptly about 1 hour later the receptionist called and asked if I would like my prescription sent to my local pharmacy and I could collect it from 5pm that afternoon (which was great as the Queensway Boots closes very late. Superb service, incredible reception staff and Doctor that listen to your worries and take immediate action or ease your mind. Cannot recommend them enough! Thank you Newton Medical Centre for everything you do! Your rating here is not reflective of the incredible work you do!

Most doctors on-site are amazing but Dr. Wray is certainly missed. The new admin staff is not that courteous or helpful as the previous admin staff which is a bit disappointing, therefore the three stars. Otherwise, the site is clean, with ample seating and a small kids area. It does tend to get quite busy at times.
