I have been very pleased with the treatment that I have received from Dr Lo Monaco. I was able to arrange a consultation on the same day that I made the initial contact, and was immediately impressed with Dr Lo Monaco's kind, caring and reassuring manner. I had to have a medical done as part of my pilot training, unfortunately my ECG showed some concerns, i contacted DR Lo Monaco via searching on google, and my goodnes, i was looked after very well and reassured that all will be ok through out the Journey. i had been so worried and concerned whether i was going to fly again, Dr Lo Monaco with his Cardio expertise was able to see me through the Echocardiogram, 24 hour monitor, stress test excersise, his care for me was 1st class and would strongly recommend him to my fellow piers.Thanks again Dr

It is fair to say that Dr Lo Monaco saved my life, which is a good start. I arrived with high blood pressure and high cholesterol, but with no history of heart problems, and within a very short time Dr Lo Monaco had organised the necessary tests, identified a 90% blocked artery and the resultant high risk of a possibly fatal heart attack, prescribed the necessary medication, and arranged the insertion of the necessary stent, and all is now well. All through he explained what was being done and why, in terms which I as a layman could understand. A word of praise for Kitty Katona, Dr Lo Monaco’s PA. Doctors are very dependent on good secretarial assistance for things to go smoothly and for patients to feel looked after between consultations, and Ms Katona was exemplary in this regard.

I had been struggling with my blood pressure for a few years and neither my GP or other cardiologists had managed to control it or explain why at my age and my fitness level I’d suffer with such high and persistent bp. Dr Lo Monaco conducted numerous tests and went way beyond what had been done and checked before. Within days he had confidently changed my prescription quite considerably and my bp is ‘now consistently ‘optimal’. I am taking less medicines than before as I guess these are more correct for me. Having spent over two years, trying to get a diagnosis, or any assistance for my Mum (80), being passed from Doctor to Doctor at numerous hospitals, Doctor Lo Monaco took the time to review all the case history, carry out his own tests and come up with a plan for Mum going forwards. Unfortunately my review is going to be different from all the others. I did find him to be a knowledgeable doctor, but the clinic not to offer good service. I went not for a consultation, but for an echocardiogram. No modesty gown was offered. Also no female chaperone. Although we discussed my exam as he performed it, I was only given some notes about my echocardiogram after requesting them to the secretary, two days after I went to see him. I still haven't received the exam images, even though I asked for them to be send to me (not sure why I had to ask, when this should have been part of the service anyway). I was told by the secretary she didn't know when he would be able to send them to me. This was around 2 weeks ago.

He is always responsive by phone even when he is abroad, he has moved quickly to book in the right tests for my mother and prescribe the right medication for her. My mum visited Dr Francesco Lo Monaco couple of days ago after really bad heartache. He was really good at listening, answering questions, clarifying and suggesting priority scans, what her symptoms can be a sign of and about necessary future steps. He prescribed medication and adviced on things she can do to maintain her heatlh before she takes additional tests to confirm the symptoms. Great communication, reachable doctor, quickly scheduled much needed consultation and scans, looked for cheaper options, he really has his patients in mind. Very rarely do you meet a Cardiologist who goes out of their way to help a loved one in their greatest time of need in the way that Dr Francesco Lo Monaco does. He is the epitome of medical excellence and kindness, and stands for everything a doctor should stand for: a servant to the public for whom no job is 'too big nor small'. Being an NHS doctor myself, I am obviously very picky about whom I would take my father to see regarding his cardiology issues. I am very grateful to Dr Lo Monaco. I started having palpitations and other symptoms and I was left wondering if something sinister was going on? The NHS consultation waiting times were very long and the issue kept causing me some worry and interfering with my day to day life, also, due to family history of heart disease I did not want to take any risk with this issue what so ever, this led me to look into private options. Dr Lo Monaco was the one of the top rated Cardiologists I found who saw patients without much delay. An appointment with Dr Lo Monaco was arranged quickly and I had a monitor fitted to identify the issue and also a scan to see if my heart is structurally fine. I was reassured by the doctor and also Ms Katona who I was liaising with for appointments during this time regarding any concerns. Tests identified the issue that corresponded to my symptoms and I am relieved.

Among the aspects that mainly struck me during my visit there is not only the profound preparation but also the marked understanding and empathy towards the patient. Dr. Lo Monaco spent all the time necessary to explain to me in detail what there was to know in my case and answered all my questions with professionalism and understanding. Another aspect that particularly surprised me positively is that in framing my clinical situation it confirmed to me many suspicions I had about the origin of my chest pains, which fortunately, following an investigation with a stress test, turned out to be non-cardiac in nature. Dr. Lo Monaco promptly put forward other hypotheses on the origin of the pain I had and I was perfectly satisfied with the explanations given to me on other potential pathologies that I have always suspected of suffering but of which I had not received confirmation. Fra gli aspetti che mi hanno colpito prevalentemente durante la mia visita non vi è soltanto la profonda preparazione ma anche la marcata comprensione ed empatia nei confronti del paziente. Il Dott. Lo Monaco ha speso tutto il tempo necessario per spiegarmi in dettaglio cio che c'era da sapere nel mio caso ed ha risposto a tutte le mie domande con professionalità e comprensione. Ulteriore aspetto che mi ha particolarmente sorpreso in positivo è che nell'inquadrare la mia situazione clinica mi ha dato conferma a tanti sospetti che avevo sull'origine dei miei dolori al torace, che fortunatamente in seguito ad investigazione con prova da sforzo, si sono rivelati di natura non cardiaca. Prontamente il Dott. Lo Monaco ha quindi avanzato altre ipotesi sull'origine dei dolori che avevo e mi sono ritrovato perfettamente con le spiegazioni datemi su altre potenziali patologie delle quali ho sempre sospettato di soffrire ma di cui non avevo avuto conferma. Tutto questo senza poi considerare il vantaggio di potersi esprimere nella propria lingua quando si discute di una cosa cosi importante e delicata come la salute. Assolutamente consigliato. 5/5
