Reviews of The Open Door Surgery

I don't understand all the bad reviews. I've been registered with this surgery for years, so have my children and partner. The doctors, nurses and receptionists have looked after my physical and mental health and I have nothing but praise for the care afforded me. Thank you so much. Edwina

All surgeries should operate this way. I've found the doctors to be helpful and empathetic when appropriate and the nurses to be kind yet firm. I guess some people can interpret this as brusqueness but considering the hours they work and the different personalities they have to deal with I am totally fine with this.

I have been with this practice for over 15 years. It has been exceptional. Pre covid the walk in system was amazing, I was always seen, service is quick and to the point, no fluff. During covid I had telephone appointments and once again it never failed. If I needed medication it was organised and I could collect from a convenient chemist. I have only praise for this practice.

'No non-sense / get things done' sort of surgery. Perhaps not for everyone on the basis that they are extremely time efficient in every manner, but it depends what you want from a GP surgery... Appointments here are short and to the point but I'd rather get the problem sorted quickly instead of battling for weeks to get an appointment elsewhere, only to be fobbed off.

I have been a longstanding patient at the practice and have always been very impressed by the speed and accessibility of their services. I appreciate they operate under pressure with limited funds, but its remarkable you can see a GP same day there as a walk in.

Excellent every time. No booking nonsense with two week delay. First rate consultation with appropriate treatment plan or referral to consultant if deemed necessary. I wouldn’t consider changing to any other practice.

I have visited this surgery since 2003. It's a walk-in surgery, but you can also book appointments if you are registered with them. I have had both doctor's and nurse's appointments, and the staff have always been very helpful. Over the last few years, they have added new doctors, too. Sometimes, when they cannot offer a service, they will book you appointments with specialists in the area. What I like about this surgery is their expertise with interacting with different groups of people from different cultural and religious background, but also from different sexual orientations. It is nice to see, and I feel really comfortable going there.
