Reviews of Dog-in-a-Box Dog Training

I have just completed the 6 week puppy course with my very excitable puppy Olive.
Pa is a fantastic trainer who explains the importance for the correct training and how to get the best from your puppy with fun and kindness! … I highly recommend pa and very much looking forward to further courses and training.

The one to one training my 18 month old cocker spaniel Rufus and I had with Pa has led to quite a transformation in his confidence - for the better! And I am now thoroughly enjoying his ongoing training with the techniques Pa passed on - we have a deeper bond which is lovely. A positive experience all round!

We just completed the 6 week puppy training course with Pa and it was awesome. Our pup Archie has come on such a long way in the time and absolutely loved coming on a Monday evening. We look forward to coming back with him for more training and to learn to do agility with him. Thank you Pa for all your support.

People warned me puppies are hard work, but you don't know just what you're letting yourself in for until you're in it at the deep end! I was overwhelmed, exhausted and terrified I was getting it all wrong as a first time collie-pup owner.
I'm so glad I found Dog-in-a-Box, which has proved to be so much more than what I'd initially expected of 'puppy training'. Pa's non-judgemental, practical and flexible approach guided me in such a positive direction and offered me some much needed perspective.
I can't thank Pa enough for her ongoing support. From a puppy at 3 months who was pessimistic, nervous, unfocused and unsettled to one at 6 months who is more confident, happy and calm (with a now manageable level of attitude and independence!). He absolutely loves his Dog-in-a-Box sessions and the two of us look forward to learning more from Pa throughout the year ahead.

Pa is a wonderful trainer and a lovely soul who supported myself and my rescue dog Piper during a difficult period. She helped us build a strong and happy relationship using positive and game-based training, which Piper really loves and responds to.
Pa helped me to understand Pipers behaviour therefore helping me understand how to apply the correct techniques. Pa’s training methods are fabulous, force-free and promote a healthy relationship with your dog. Piper has grown massively in her confidence due to this.
I would recommend Pa to anyone, whatever they are looking to achieve with their dog or pup. Our sessions have been a Godsend and we will be attending classes and workshops whenever we can. Thank you Pa for everything you’ve done for us!

My boisterous adolescent Labrador was testing my patience so we enrolled on a course of classes with Dog in a Box. The trainer Pa seemed to get her measure straight away and over the 6 week course there was a definite improvement in her behaviour and Pa gave me lots of guidance to build on these new skills to improve some of her other behaviours too. Highly recommended, wish I had gone earlier when she was a pup.

We booked 4 sessions with Pa for our 2 dogs to work on anxiety issues and reactivity. They have both improved immeasurably even in such a short space of time with Pa’s patient and fun training style. She gets them very engaged with lots of encouragement and rewards but never pushes them and knows when they have had enough. We did not have a good past experience with a puppy classes (not Pa’s) and I was quite apprehensive about further training but I’ve learnt loads as well as the dogs and have really enjoyed the sessions and the homework! Definitely booking more in!

We’ve just finished a 6 week course in a small group and couldn’t be happier!
Pa is an excellent trainer and we loved her tailored approach to all different dogs in our group. While it was a group course- everyone got lots of individual help from Pa.
Pa is knowledgeable in all things dog and gave us much advice and guidance. The games she had taught us are especially fun.
The facilities on side are also fab- big secure field for training and horses and chickens nearby to expose the dogs to.
Thank you Pa 😊😊

If you are looking to follow a positive training approach for your new puppy then I would definitely recommend Pa and Dog-in-a-box. We signed up for the course that included 2x 1-2-1 sessions, I would highly recommend this as it gave our pup a great head start before the main sessions started.
Pa follows a mainly game based approach, so if your familiar with “Absolute dogs” and their podcast then these pair very well.
We have left the course with the tools to set our pup on the right path for success.

I would like to give great big thank you, our Collie puppy Murphy has grown into a character over the last few weeks. The classes are fun for all and not just for pups and as a dog owner your learn so much through out the training. We had such a blast and thanks once more, see you soon for agility training.

Training with Pa was great! With a very enthusiastic puppy, she helped with lots of ideas and gave me a great deal of confidence. The advice is practical, supportive and helpful - its all great fun for dogs and owners too!

Poppy and Bertie had a great time, we worked on various aspects and will continue to do so. Poppy, as a recent rescue, who had 3 unexpected puppies is now behaving better and has a proper spring in her step and seems so much better thanks to expert "Dog in a box's" guidance. Thank you, we will be back soon!

We have a British Bulldog, before seeing Pa, we were at our wits end with George nipping at our feet, even though teething, he was becoming stressful. Pa is so welcoming and put us at ease right away. After the first session, George was like a different puppy. All 4 sessions with Pa have been a god send. We cannot thank Pa enough. Enjoyable, fun and lots of treats for George. Thank you Pa xxx

We’ve just completed training with Pa for our Goldie, Lomby, who was pulling badly on the lead during walks. Thanks to Pa, the pulling has all but stopped and walks are enjoyable again. We’ve learned lots of really useful techniques and are busy practicing Lomby’s recall too. For relaxed, enjoyable training that builds both the dog’s and the owner’s confIdence I really recommend Pa (and of course Wobble who made all the difference!)

Albi and I started working with P back in May. I went to her as Albi is a lovely springer who pulls like a train! We are working and getting this to stop but it is not an easy task. I feel so supported and Albi has learnt so much more since starting training. P is so considerate and honestly cares about Albi and making sure he succeeds.
Walks are less stressful and shes been able to grow my already amazing bond with Albi as he loves doing training and is so happy when he succeeds.
Would recommend to anyone!

Super puppy training. Learnt lots of fun games to help our puppy become confident and clear about what we’re asking her to do. Highly recommend.

One of my rescue German Shepherds is reactive so I sought the services of Pa. I'm very glad I did. Pa explains & then shows you how to train in a kind, positive way. Lotte has come on very well on a 1-2-1 basis & will now do a course with other dogs to help her socialise. I have had GSD's for over 30 yrs but it doesn't mean you know everything! Sometimes you need help. Pa is a very calm knowledgeable trainer & I would very highly recommend her.

Excellent . My springer spaniel puppy has really improved with this training. He clearly enjoyed the training and we feel that we have benefited from learning new skills even though we were not novices in keeping energetic dogs. I would not hesitate to recommend dog in a box training

At the start of the puppy training classes our pup was timid and very unsure of herself but by the end of the classes she was full of confidence. Pa has a wonderful approach and equipped us all with tips and ideas for training our pup.

Took on a rather yappy border terrier rescue 2 yr old emmy who despite our best efforts didn’t quite get the plot, booked 4 sessions one to one with Pa and from session 1 it was an improvement. After 4 sessions whilst not completely over her lockdown life emmy was well on the way with home schooling to continue and pa’s telephone number on the dogs board. As a previous dog dog owner guess we thought we knew it all but with Pa’s help and easy guidance Emmy is now more settled and our control is improved.
Would recommend the training and the location which is set up to help any owner who has doubts with their dog skills and confidence.

Pa is kind, understanding and professional in her approach. She offers an excellent service and clearly loves what she does. Her manner with both dogs and their humans is that of patience. She has a desire to help, building the bond in the process and helping with any issues that there may be. I'm truly grateful for meeting Pa and for the help Jade and I have received so far.

Pa is brilliant! Our puppy Dexter loves her and is doing so well with his training. We can’t wait to see how much more he improves over the next few weeks

We took our two Labrador puppies to Pa for her puppy training course which was fantastic I have come away with happy and more obedient dogs and have also used what I have learned on my older Labrador. The training is fun and positive and in return we have positive reactions from Scooby and Archer. Thank you so much Pa

Pa was fantastic with her training and her knowledge all things dog! No question was too silly and her sharing of information for a new puppy was very reassuring. Thanks for creating such a fun experience for both myself and Luna!

We got a 3 year collie last November which had received little or no training, a beautiful sweet natured dog who was terrified of everything, people, noises, other animals, and would cower in his kennel most of the time. When we tried getting him into the car he would flatten himself to the ground.
We started weekly 121 training sessions with Pa in December and with her guidance and patience we now have a very confident and lively collie, who is a bit of scatterbrain but he is responding really well to training.
He now leaps into the back of the car when we go out, sits, stays and returns on command (most of the time). Initially it was difficult to walk with him on a lead without him lunging ahead, he now walks really well alongside us without any pulling and tugging.
Pa’s firm and quiet patience (not only with the dog) has been invaluable. I would happily recommend her services to anyone in need of an extremely knowledgable dog trainer.

Well run training sessions with a good mixture of fun games to improve bonding with your puppy, and commands to keep them on track. Lovely facilities, and good practical advice. We had great fun.

We booked four 1-2-1 sessions with Pa to help us tackle some of the behaviours exhibited by my 6 year old fur-ball (lets call him McFluff). Pa is very knowledge, approachable and passionate with little tales to help explain the "why" behind some of the things we were doing and seeing. Everything was done in a fun and playful manner that meant McFluff "chose" to partake and be involved, with him enjoying himself. He is a stubborn fella but he engaged fully with Pa's encouragement and we are already seeing a difference in his behaviours. We are now moving in to the group sessions with Pa to continue this journey x

Took Rosie for 6 weeks puppy training with Philippa who was very patient with me and my pup. They helped me to understand my puppy better and would definitely recommend Dog-in-a-box dog training.

A great experience, training in a fun and positive fashion for both myself and Falco! My GSP.

My pup has developed beyond what I expected in terms of obedience and confidence. More importantly, she absolutely loved going there. Highly recommended. Thanks Pa!

A friendly greeting given to both owner and dogs. No pressure approach to training. Concentrates on making training fun with reward based response. Safe environment for all in the group sessions.

We learnt ,Glen and I ,lots of new ways .Feeding on the ground and only for rewards was one of the best..Just chatting through problems was very helpful.
Glen is now a calmer dog .

Phillipa was fantastic with Coco and really helped us with recall, she taught me a lot about how to handle her and her behaviour. Thoroughly recommend.
