H.Myself and my now husband were getting married and we found it very difficult finding somewhere for our frenchie to go as the people who would usually of had him were going to be at the wedding, I spent weeks on end contacting various companies to no avail - all were fully booked! I came across Barking Mad and had a telephone call with Victoria who is the host for my area and I was quite skeptical at first if I am going to be completely honest. The thought of my dog going to someone else's home who I did not know was quite concerning for me but at this stage, this was my only option so I arranged to get my dog all registered and as soon as I initially met with Victoria my mind was put at complete ease, she was very informative and provided all the information required on paper afterwards so we could always refer back. We booked our dog in with a fair bit of notice and we had contact with Victoria on the lead up to the stay which was great. On the day Victoria picked him up to take him I was really worried as he hadn't really spent any time away from home before but he went with her absolutely fine which was very reassuring for me. Later that day I received some lovely pictures and a message informing me that he had settled in just fine. I continued to receive messages/pictures throughout his short stay which was fantastic. He returned home after 3 days and I honestly could not recommend this company enough. My dog is registered for life with Barking Mad and I would not look anywhere else to send my dog. Best thing is for any future stays, they will do their best to accomodate your dog with the host family they have already been with which I think is even more reassuring. Absolutely outstanding company.

Victoria matched our Cockapoo with two lovely ladies who took care of him like he was their own. They sent photos and videos and kept us up to date with his antics and no doubt he was the centre of attention during his stay (even getting to sleep where he wanted). Barking Mad provides a wonderful home from home service and Hugo came home content and happy. Thank you all so much for taking great care of Hugo x

The pick up and drop off is a great perk, saving the time and stress of shuttling your dog to and from. Regular updates while you are travelling as well. My dog always comes back happy and well cared for!

John and Ros do a very good job of matching dogs to their hosts and we’ve always had lovely, friendly dogs who keep us fit and on our toes. We have loved every one of the many dogs we’ve looked after and it’s especially nice when a dog returns for a holiday that you’ve looked after before. We like the flexibility of being able to care for a dog when it fits in with our lifestyle, so you’re not tied, and it’s reassuring to know you have the advantage of a good organisation you can call on for support if and when needed. It’s the next best thing to actually owning a dog yourself - we would thoroughly recommend it.
