We sent our dog Brodie again for more training after him regressing a bit due to a horrible boarding experience. This time he was with Hayley (but also got to work with his bestie from before Jo) Brodie has come back again the confident fun loving boy he was before. Hayley worked so well with Brodie & even enhanced his commands that he had learned previously. We highly recommend the trainers Hayley & Jo at Bark and Birch, they treated our baby as if he was their own.

We had the pleasure of Joe C. training our puppy for the 2 week (puppy) obedience course.
Joe was professional and responsive throughout, pick up - during and drop off. He kept us up to date with videos of training in a way that broke down the objective into mini objectives to achieve the end goal, introducing pavlov's dog training method has worked absolute wonders both for our puppy and for us.
Upon return he gave us a full comprehensive handover, took both us and our dog for a walk and demonstrated to us our Puppy's achievements including recall, sit, wait, down, leave it, touch, watch, back and stellar level crate training (no more yapping/whining/barking), now sits quietly in crate, I considered for our dog's age what was achieved was FAR more than we expected, Joe went above and beyond for us and our puppy, Zero.
For Crate training; whether you need your puppy to be close if you're working and need a controlled environment, he now sees the crate as a place of pure calm and relaxation (truly his "den") - for a puppy this was a lot and Joe took on the challenge and executed it with flying colours!!!!!!
Joe's training method is purely based on as much positive reinforcement as possible (along with pavlov's training - which we can attest that this was THE BEST way to get most out of our puppy, we will continue to use the clicker at all times).
What a difference this has made to home life with him. He's a lot calmer, more assure of who he is, next to no yapping / barking / night crying and is even more eager to learn from what Joe has taught him. We understand that there will always be a regression stage but with enough reinforcement from Joe's training we are absolutely positive we will continue to have a wonderful companion.
Joe is a true asset to Bark & Birch and if you're lucky enough to get him as your dog's trainer then be assured you'll have your dog back in wonderful condition - both training and general care wise.
Thank you, Joe! Beyond wonderful and we look forward to bringing our puppy back for adolescence training with yourself!

My Doberman pup was enrolled in a 6 week customized program to work on building his confidence through socialization and training. Jo did an amazing job, kept me updated and answered all my questions. She built a bond with my dog that has helped him trust people and clearly made him very, very happy. Will definitely be training with Jo and the team again!

Bark & Birch helped us out when we needed to arrange train and board and 1-to-1 training sessions with our rescue Suki, all on a fairly short notice. A former streetdog from Romania, we were starting from scratch with Suki and were looking for help do to the right thing with her from the beginning. Suki did a train and board program with Sarah Chetri for two weeks, and we’ve had 1-to-1 sessions with Elly here in London. Both trainers are amazing and we highly recommend them.
Sarah provided us with daily updates and training videos, wrote an extensive training document that will be our bible as we continue to train Suki. She also arranged a call with her colleague Meghan, who has specialized knowledge on Romanian rescues. We spoke for an hour and she shared such a wealth of knowledge. Helped us to understand Suki’s behavior much better..
Suki came back from her training with drastically improved recall, walking much better on the lead, and just generally much better in commands. Sarah really took her time for all our questions during the hand-over session. Elly too has been very helpful in giving us on the spot, hands-on advice on how to deal with situations around the house and walking in our park. So useful, we feel much more confident now in how we show up for Suki, and Suki herself is thriving because of their help. Would highly recommend Bark & Birch and Sarah and Elly!

Training was easy to arrange directly with our ‘own’ trainer. Ashley was really good with communicating in between sessions, giving us feedback and support. Most importantly for me she provided reassurance on what we were doing and for my pup she provided a fun environment in which to learn. My pup was always so excited to see her and get training!
We have been given good, common sense foundation on which to work and reach our training goal.

We are please with the results from our Bark & Birch training. Our pup spent 2 weeks on a residential course at home with a trainer & it definitely helped nip some emerging behaviours in the bud & cement some basic training cues. After some initial confusion over who our dog was staying with we had regular contact with the trainer & some helpful videos. Follow up contact once he was home wasn't great to be honest.
But, we have since had a wonderful Bark & Birch trainer called Ashley do some 1-2-1 training with us & the advice she has given us has been invaluable. She is very enthusiastic & very patient explaining what we need to do. We specifically worked on recall & this has really improved. She also took the time to send some helpful videos of herself working with her dogs, to give us a demo of some games to play with ours. I have recommended Ashley to several friends as I felt she really understood us, our dog & our expectations of him.

In April, we added a Parsons Jack Russell to our family. As he is a very head strong, smart little fellow we decided we need to start as we mean to go on with some training sessions. Ashley from Bark & Birch made us swiftly realise that we needed the training more then our dog. She was clear, kept us consistent with the pup and he swiftly responded to reward based training. Loki loved Ashley and really enjoyed his training which made it easy for us. The sessions were easy to book and flexible, fitting in with our work and family life. We now have the basics, know that practice and repetition are key and would definitely think about booking some more classes when he’s a bit older. Thank you Ashley for your knowledgeable, advice and guidance.

Highly recommended and very supportive from the first month I brought my puppy Gunnar home. Ashley specifically was great with Gunnar and he always looked forward to seeing her. She was able to provide real practical and relevant advice including the little things that I should / shouldn't be doing that make the world of difference when training a new puppy. If you have a new puppy or an older one that needs training or a top up I would highly recommend Bark & Birch.

Our 18 month old rescue staffie had high anxiety and reactivity to dogs. A month-long board and train with head trainer Steve has improved both these issues massively. Steve sent us daily videos of our dog’s progress and explained how and why he was teaching him to behave in different scenarios. Our dog can now go on group walks with other dogs (something I never thought would be possible!) and his confidence has grown. We still have work to do, but Steve is on hand to offer advice and support. We are so grateful to him - he’s genuinely changed our lives.
