I first engaged with FDS when we decided to get a puppy. I'd have a couple of dogs growing up but I had never been the owner so thought it wise to seek some advice. We had an initial consultation where Claire came to our house. It was a great opportunity for her to see us and our new puppy in the setting where the puppy would grow up. Following on from that we have been along to puppy classes, which were the main objective. But like children and sport, these classes became the height of fun for our dog. We then progressed to beginners gundog classes, into novice and we are now at intermediate level with advanced next on the cards. John and Claire are fantastic and truly supportive. Our dog is of course part of the family and he has his hobbies just like the rest of us.

I have been training my dogs with Claire and John of Family Dog Services since January 2018. My first dog has completed the beginner, novice, intermediate, advanced and working gundog classes. My younger dog is just starting novice. I cannot wish for better trainers as they really do go above and beyond and provide an exceptional service! Whether you want puppy classes, behavioral consultations or gundog specific training. I have had advice every time I have asked a question and encouragement when I felt like things were going wrong. My only warning is it does get a bit too addictive once you see how much the dog is enjoying themselves!!

Family Dog Services were recommended to me by a friend when I was looking to find training for my young labrador. Right from the first conversation with John and then the classes it's been an absolute pleasure to train with John and Claire. Truly professional with a wealth of knowledge but also ensuring both dogs and owners have fun while learning. John and Clare are really committed to there business and the welfare of the dogs. I’ve really enjoyed being part of there group training classes. They are friendly with loads of advise either at class or on the fb group. All classes are build around ability of the dog and handler, making training fun and enjoyable for both dog and handler. They not only understand the traits of the many breeds of dogs which they train but also cope with the varied personalities of the owners. We love training with Claire and John Denyer. They offer everything from group classes that start from pups and go up accordingly, 1-2-1 training, can help you with behaviour issues and gundog training. We attend the gundog sessions, classes are fun and tailored to your level.

Having a working cocker spaniel from a pup and not really having any knowledge about training him I was recommended FAMILY DOG SERVICES by a friend. FAMILY DOG SERVICES i I was worried before I went what if I didn’t understand or wasn’t doing it right. But having been with FAMILY DOG SERVICES for nearly a year now I surprised myself with what I have achieved with my dog. The training is very thorough but yet most importantly fun, if it’s not fun for us it’s not going to be for the dog. Come to John and Claire with a problem with the dog, trouble shoot and shown how to correct the issue, come away knowing what to do, Bit of homework, problem fixed John and Claire are great teachers, explain it all very well and do demo as well. 100% would not look to go anywhere else. That’s from someone who is a beginner dog handler
