We love our Dufus Northern Inuit 'Ghost' he is literally the BFG. He has bought so much love and humour into our house. In fact we love him so much we went back for another and he is just as crazy! Love that the breeders want to and do keep in touch not just on their progrees but in daily silly life too! Wouldn't go anywhere else!!

Where do I begin?! My partner and I had been looking for the right breeder for a puppy to join our home. After lots of internet research into wolfalike breeds, we were lucky enough to find Shima Onida. From the moment I first contacted Maggie, she was fantastic to deal with. Maggie asked lots of questions and invited us to meet with her and the dogs before considering putting us on the waiting list - something I found very reassuring and proof she cared so much about her puppies. Visiting the home and the pack was a wonderful experience, the dogs are so beautiful and gentle and Maggie was able to answer questions and talk to us about the breed. Maggie has extensive knowledge about dogs and I loved the fact that all the dogs live in the home and are part of the family. I knew that I wanted a pup that had spent its first few months with Maggie :) it was tough to wait but we were welcomed into the Shima Onida family and we now have a five month old puppy. He’s turned our lives upside down and we wouldn’t have it any other way! Shima Onida are amazing !!!

Terrific experience from the time I inquired to the time I got my puppy (even afterwards, too!). The breeding dogs are extremely loved and treated like family. The puppies are taken well care of and socialized beautifully. Mine was even taught to sit before he arrived. I live in the US, so I was concerned about the process of getting a puppy shipped to me. It was such a painless experience. I received communication nearly daily on how the pup was doing. He arrived safe and sound in his crate and was in perfect health. He is such a good dog, and gorgeous to boot. What I also like is that they are always available for advice and tips for raising this breed. Any question I have had has been answered promptly. I would definitely deal with this breeder again in a heartbeat.

The Shima Onida pack are lovely healthy dogs and the pups are home reared with love. Had a brilliant experience with Shima Onida. Would definately reccomend! Advice is on tap and continues for the life of your new dog, from caring for the puppy to training and behaviour and everything inbetween. The puppies and adult dogs never want for anything while in the care of these breeders and it is a really friendly place to be. These breeders really care about the pups and vet each potential owner to ensure the puppies will be going to good homes. We are very grateful to the breeders for our fur baby. They breed beautiful dogs and raise them in a home environment until they leave at 8 weeks. They are very knowledgeable about the breed and they are always willing to help with advice even after we picked up our puppy. They are all healthy and happy puppies, and the way they are raised until they leave has certainly improved our experience as first time puppy parents. Honestly, I don't know where to start! I could write pages! From my very first visit to Maggie and her pack, I knew I was dealing with very special dogs. Maggie and Avenn are all about their animals, 100% they would do anything for their dogs and it shows. The care and love they recieve is evident; they are pets first and foremost, members of their family. So expect to be asked many questions - your suitability comes first, then theirs! Do your research, and gather as much information as possible. Learn from the ladies' knowledge, get to know the pack. Expect to wait up to a year for your puppy, expect to face disappointment along the way (nature cannot be rushed) and nor should it be. This is a life choice, and the best you could make. Rest assured you will recieve the perfect pup at the right time - many can share such stories. It's worth the wait. You will get a well adjusted, social, intelligent, trainable companion that you couldn't be without! Nooji is seven months old now and already I can't remember life before her. Considering recent circumstances limiting training and socialisation options she has coped and progressed incredibly well and this is due to the fantastic start in life she had. Yes, she was and at times, stll is, demanding and hard work - but the very qualities that make her so clever and quick witted are the qualities that make her so special. She has the most wonderful character, she makes us laugh every single day. She really is an explorer, the adventure dog I dreamed of, and I can't wait to discover more with her when we can. Having a Shima Onida puppy also means having professionals on call for life. Maggie and Avenn are always available for any question or concern. It has been a privilege to get to know them and the pack from my time researching breeds and breeders (they really do stand out in comparison to other breeders) and visiting and spending time with the pack (the best way to discover if you are the right fit for them) to now being an owner myself. There are many other owners also happy to share their experiences which is really helpful. I am proud to own a Shima Onida puppy and to consider Maggie and Avenn friends. Shima Onida really is one big family.

Well what can I say..... I have known this lady for at least ten years now so I have been in love with the breed for a long time. She is an excellent breeder putting a lot of love and time into her dogs, needless to say they are beautiful and well looked after. You can rely on her for any help you need big or small even if you think it is silly. My hubby and I now have one of the latest litter and she is adorable, we couldn't wish for a better puppy. Oh yes even though we have been friends for years we were vetted exactly the same way as any other potential owners .

After looking for some time for a breeder and talking / messaging a few, it seemed clear that Maggie and Avenn of Shima Onida stood out for us. We travelled to meet for an interview - that for them was to see if we were suitable owners and for us was to confirm we’d found the right breeder - this couldn’t have been clearer... the care, commitment and dedication both to the individual dogs and to the breed was very evident and we knew we’d found where we should be. Even from that first visit we felt welcome and like we were already in the Shima Onida ‘family’. We waited on the puppy list, watching the regular updates in the owners group, and in June 2019 the Angels and Demons litter arrived. 8 weeks later we welcomed Maska into our family and it’s been magical! The fact that the litter was raised indoors and the tireless work and effort put in to help the pups be used to day to day sights, smells and sounds and get used to being handled by a variety of different people gives a fantastic start to these pups. We now have a gorgeous wolfy boy who has settled in wonderfully and rest safe in the knowledge that we have a wealth of experience and support to call on if we need. It’s all about the dogs for Maggie and Avenn and it shows. Can’t recommend them highly enough. Thank you 😊 x.

Shima Onida Kennels is a very trustworthy breeder of Northern Inuit's and Timber Wolfalike dogs. All of their dogs are fully health checked and health scored. Their puppies are reared within the family home and their adult dogs also live in the family home. They do not use kennels for their big dogs or puppies. If you are looking to buy a wolfalike dog, I fully recommend Shima Onida as a breeder, you will not be disappointed if you buy a puppy from them!

All of the breeding dogs are fully health tested with hip and elbow scoring and also DM tested. All puppies are reared within the family home and are well socialised with humans and the adult dogs within the home. Mothers can always be seen, and fathers can be if it is one of their own males used at stud. The puppies are also fully wormed, health checked and micro chipped before leaving for their forever homes. They are desensitised to household appliances and leave with a extensive puppy pack which includes food they are weaned on.
