Reviews of RSPCA Millbrook Animal Centre
C. B.
Lovely people there, very helpful, and the two cats we brought home are doing great
S. N.
A bit disappointed, as they were closed to the public because of the virus! I really don't understand why! People are responsible and keeping to the rules, so why close it?! But in saying this, I want stop supporting them as I've been going there for over 20 years and have had 4 dogs from them before!! The staff are most of the times very nice andfriendly!!
T. B.
We attended in August 2008 and came away a couple of days later with a gorgouse Patterdale Terrier . She was strong willed and liked to see us chasing after her to keep us fit . Thirteen years and many adventures later our much loved and cherished little Chewi passed away . We will be attending soon to see if we can get another little treasure, not as a replacement, as Chewi is irreplaceable but a new little terrier to have new adventures with .

Last time I visited millbrook was about 10 year ago and visited this week and was shocked to see the big change and the staff was so polite and helpful I pick up my new carrot muncher soon 🐇
J. L.
Very friendly staff, lots of lovely cats to choose from. We found our lovely Esme here, hopefully the home visit will be fine so she can come home with us!
The reception can be a little noisy at time with dogs, but overall it's an excellent cat shelter. The good opening hours at the weekend make up for the inability to go during the week.
Make sure you get there exactly at opening time, on a weekend, as all the cats go very quickly!
p. s.
Its a shame that you can't visit this place and have chat with staff about dogs and circumstances which may help you make a good decision re adoption. Instead you got to fill in the form and someone will(wont) come.to you. Don't think is the right way.
R. L.
I have had cats from Milbrook since i was a child, my three current babies are from here and they have grown up so happy.
A. M.
Got my beautiful dog from there.
A. K.
Wonderfully helpful and kind staff helped us find and rehome two lovely cats. The initial phone call felt like a job interview from someone who didn't want to be there, but they opened up when they understood we were serious about adopting. Thank you so much for helping us find our new housemates Bobby and Kate.
J. M.
Beautiful pond and gardens..well worth a visit.
a. p.
Very nice people .loads of pets to choose from

These guys went out of their way to work through the limitations of an impending new lockdown to source a wonderful cat for us and assess our suitability remotely. The fosterer even personally delivered our new family member to us. He’d been through a very traumatic few months and the RSPCA’s veterinary services and rehabilitation ending in our taking him on in good shape. Well done to everyone. Top class service!
S. H.
Great experience, lovely understanding staff and a great dog Emily who is really come out of herself!, very cheeky! Highly recommended thanks to all the staff xx
D. A.
A very caring and worthwhile organisation

Very cold days but lovely and warm in the small wooden cabins that have been erected, with a heater in them. Food was good service was good.

When we came to visit the centre in Woking, the staff were very helpful indeed. They allowed is to see the separate cat sanctuary where they kept many different cats. We spotted an extremely shy cat and all everyone could say regarding her colouring, is that she had ginger bits. Very few people had actually seen her as she had never come out of her sleeping igloo. She probably came out when no one was looking!
All we could actually see were two huge scared eyes, watching us both very closely. We decided to adopt her as we felt that our home was probably very suitable for her.
We spoke to a lady who was there, who was very helpful, and we were told that our house had to be assessed by an RSPCA inspector. Before we knew it we were assessed by another very kind lady and were told we were suitable😃. When could we pick our cat up? So within a week of looking for a suitable cat, we actually found one! I understand that they thankfully have a high uptake of the cats. I’m not so sure about the other animals though.
We can’t speak highly enough of the staff. They were all very caring towards all of the animals and helpful towards us. Especially getting around the site as I’m in a wheelchair. They answered all of our rather extensive list of questions as well. They couldn’t have been more helpful, right from the first lady we met in reception when we made out first enquiry, to the lady who showed us the cats, to the RSPCA inspector who came to our house and to the ladies we met when we went to go through the final pieces of paperwork and then finally picked her up.
It is a month now since we picked up our car, Sweep. She is lovely. We’ve had to play with her a lot, especially gams that help her to build up her weak back leg muscles. She’d been kept in a crate with three other cats, so she didn’t have a lot of room to run and jump. For how long, nobody knows, but we think it must have been quite a while, considering how weak her back leg muscles were. Only now, after four weeks, does she feel confident enough to jump up onto the windowsill. She is definitely eating well and her appetite has increased significantly. It’s probably burnt off by all the running around that she does, when we play games with her!
She rarely lets us stroke her, but it’s going to understandably take her quite a long time to build up her trust in us, considering what she’s been through and for how long. We’re confident that she’ll get there though, as she’s already come such a very long way, from when she first arrived here😃😺.

Lovely volunteers and staff, got our kitten Ernie from there
I.
The work they do is amazing and staff are kind and considerate to the animals,I once considered getting a hamster here and the staff didn't mind me looking at him and were caring for him excellently as he was in a large cage with pleanty of enrichment.😁😁😁😁
C. B.
Had to take my cat here to be rehomed . As we couldnt take her with us . The staff were very considerate and experienced in helping customers and our feelings were fully understood . We were never looked upon as tho we were abandoning our cat. The whole procedure was explained and took only a short while . We had privacy to say our last goodbyes. On the whole .. it was handled as delicately as is possible by experienced and caring members of staff ...
F. L.
There are so nice, friendly and caring. They keep such good care of the cats, dogs etc. Also have amazing prices. Our cat was scared at first but now is soooooo sweet and loving

Lovely place to take the kids for a day trip not many animals though. Please donate if you do decide to pop by to see the animals. Or even better adopt one.
K. M.
I liked to come here when I have free days to see and donate money to the RSPCA! You can see how well they are looked after and always have the cutest animals that are looking to be adopted! The lady’s in reception are all lovely and helpful and always greet you when you come in with a smile and always respond if you have any questions!
J. M.
Very helpful staff, lovely animals

It's always a bit sad to see rescue animals in a shelter but our adoption experience has been fantastic. When our new friend got sick 3 days after adoption they helped us find a vet and offered to cover the costs.
A.
Got my two lovely bunnies from here. They do a fantastic job.

All the animals here are very well looked after, most of the staff (with a few exceptions) are incredibly friendly and enthusiastic. The on site charity shop is looked after by a set of lovely ladies who are fantastic for a chat and will always point out interesting new stuff.

This is a big place, plenty of space for the animals they take on. We went to a gala day, so we didn't have much contact with the staff, butt we did see some animals which was great. If I went I would be bringing lots of pets home.
G. S.
Great service from all the staff to make the adoption process smooth and seamless. We are very pleased with Pickle and hope she has a happy and long future with us.

The facilities here are fantastic and the team here Stella integrated and engaged wth the local community. We adopted our dog here and even did his puppy training course for a number of weeks.
All residents here are cared and loved for until they are rehomed.
A special thank you to the teams :-)
S. S.
We got our wonderful kittens from the RSPCA and it was such a good experience
A. G.
Perfect place to find a new furry friend. They will give great advice and fully vet any potential new owners
R. L.
Love this place the Gala was brilliant but I could watch the donkeys all day
M. P.
A very well run rescue centre which is focused on the well being and re-homing of the animals they care for.
The reception staff can be a little caustic at times but don't let that dissuade you from visiting and (hopefully) re-homing these amimals in need.
S. A.
Very friendly helpful staff, very appreciative of donations given 😊
E. H.
We went looking for another dog staff we're lovely and friendly they didn't have many dog's because they rehomed a lot before Christmas and that was really good will be going again and checking website.
M. B.
Used to visit quite often, went last week and disappointed that you have to go through reception to gain access to the dogs, although you can still visit the cats without problems, not many visitors at this time, but maybe busier over the weekend.
f. x.
Millbrook didn't waste any of my time unlike Southall and Hillingdon RSPCA. They helped me even months after I adopted my kitten! I will definitely be adopting from them again in the future, they've given me the best gift I could ask for. Thank you! 😊
A. D.
Excellent customer service. All animals are looked after well and have a lot of freedom.
We adopted our cat from here.
