Where do I start…. Will @ Smart dogs has turned our life around. He was the 1st trainer who actually took the time to get to know my dog and his history and work with us unlike many who wrote us off as lost cause. Before we met Will our future was bleak. We didn’t have a dog we could socialise or introduce to people, we couldn’t do family days out with the dog as we couldn’t trust him around people, other dogs, moving objects etc. my dog had to be muzzled and on lead, we started walking at night when darker and quieter. He would bark consistently at the slightest noise outside the house. But with Will’s help and guidance we have turned things around. My dog now interacts with people and is gradually getting used to other dogs (he does not know). He barks a lot less in the home and is generally much more relaxed and less anxious. After several 1to1 sessions we have now moved on to group sessions and the atmosphere and support is amazing. We still have a journey ahead of us but know we will get there now because of the support and guidance from Will. Thank you 😊

After spending £1,000 on training I contacted Will. Will is our third Trainer and I think we have finally found the right approach with Storm. Storm is a 2 year old rescue from Bosnia, over zealous in play and aggressive when nervous. We will continue working with Will's reward based approach as it feels right and definite progress has been made. Thank you for sharing your no nonsense, caring techniques.

Will is a really approachable and professional tutor. We attended a 4 week class with our puppy. It's been really helpful both with his training & socialising with other people and dogs in a safe environment. WOULD DEFINETELY RECOMMEND!!!

I took my 1 year old stubborn spaniel, Dyson, to Will at York Dog Park and within a couple of sessions I could already see him becoming a different dog. With Will’s range of techniques for engaging our dogs, Dyson has gone from a dog who would pull my arm off and totally ignore me on a walk to (9 times out of 10 atleast) being able to walk on a loose lead by the side of me and listen to my commands, even focusing on me without my asking. Will works with each group member individually within the sessions, to ensure everyone knows what they are doing, and gets any extra support / advice needed. Dyson is still the excitable, crazy spaniel he was before training, but much better at listening and able to calm himself faster in situations where this is needed. Thank you Will for being so helpful in sharing your knowledge and being able to confidently transfer that to all different breeds. Would definitely recommend.

Will has helped massively with our Alaskan malamute x American bulldog siblings. We are now confident while taking them out for walks as they no longer pull us over! Their recall is coming on fantastically and they are much more obedient.

We attended a 6 week course with Will with one of our dogs Kobi, a large very strong American Bulldog x Alaskan Malamute. We were at a point where we were struggling massively to walk him due to his strength. Kobi learned very quickly the training Will gave us and within a couple of sessions Kobi was a different dog! We are now on our second course with Will (we signed up again as although Kobi learned so much we believe it was good for him socially and mentally). We have also had Will do some 1:1 work with us to help us introduce Kobi to my other dogs. We are now at a point where Kobi gets lots of long nice walks, not pulling and focused on me! He is a pleasure to walk now! I cannot recommend Will enough. He has helped us so much and we are very grateful for all of Will's training, help and advice. Will is always happy to give advice at any time. Thank you for all of your continual support.

Will has helped us hugely with a very willful dog! He gave us strategies that are consistent and logical. They work but you must be patient. He makes it clear that if you don’t have good control of your dog in your home then you have no chance outside. And he has a set of rules to achieve that. I would not hesitate to recommend SmartDogs
