Completed my full motorcycle license with Raven in January '22. Started from a basic CBT up to my mod 2 with full support from the guys there, they are fantastic instructors with all the patience in the world. Regardless of your skill level, if you're interested in learning to ride, this is hands down the best place to do it.

I had my CBT last week with Andy and he was a very good instructor, always happy and taught us very well. There was never times where I felt I had lost confidence to ride because Andy would show me how to do it and then would tell me where I am going wrong and then praise me when I had got it right. The owner Jim is also a very warm and welcoming man.

I completed my pre-CBT and CBT with Raven in September. I thought they were excellent. Great facilities, excellent bikes and the opportunity to use all the necessary equipment too. As someone who’d no experience of riding a motorbike, the staff were supportive and gave me the confidence to progress quickly and never judged me for the inevitable mistakes I made. Since my CBT, I’ve got myself a Honda MSX 125 (grom). I love it and I love motorcycle riding too. No question, I’ll be booking my full licence and training with Raven again in the near future.

Popped in to ask about motorcycle training as someone who's never ridden or even driven on the roads before. A week later I was taken through a pre-CBT and then CBT with Mark and had a great time, despite having no clue about bikes upon arriving! I would definitely recommend the guys at Raven to take your course with. I just passed my CBT and couldn't be happier. The guys are so approachable and thorough with their instructing which immediately puts you at ease. Had a fantastic experience taking my CBT and Pre CBT session at Raven. They are welcoming, offer excellent advice and guidance and having come from no road or motorcycle experience I left with the skills needed to ride a bike effectively and safely.

Started as a complete novice and their training was such a huge help! For anyone looking to get their CBT I'd recommend doing the pre-CBT training because they really teach you how to have good bike control in advance so that you're not rushing through your CBT. Had a lot of fun training with them too, it was a great experience!!

I completed my CBT in July 2021. All the instructors were excellent, also answered any questions I had with lots of detail and information. This is the best place to get your CBT. I don't mind going there again. Easily gets five stars.

Called these guys up straight away after passing my theory test to do the DAS a week later they got me in for training spent four days in total with them and came out the other end with a full license and a smile on my face, can’t recommend enough! Very friendly very educational and positive overall improved things I could already do and worked on things I couldn’t so not only am I a more qualified rider but a better rider over all coming out of it you really do pay competitive prices cheaper than many to be fair but the value for money is the best out there I feel and Jim doesn’t half know how to make a bloody good cup of tea

You come once and you're part of the family. This is the 6th time I have renewed my cbt, the first time with Raven, and I have never felt so welcomed. I went in to do my CBT today at Raven and it was a fantastic experience. I was definitely nervous going in but I was made to feel at ease. Everyone was really nice and friendly and they clearly have a passion for what they do. The experience is tailored as obviously some people are better at certain things than others, and even when made mistakes the instructors were great, they let you identify what went wrong and then tell you how to do it better next time. They didn't just give me the technical competence, it was the personal confidence they instilled in me. I now feel a safe confident rider and actually a better road user all round. Had a good time doing my first CBT with the team over at Raven. Both Mark and Jim, as well as the resident dog are great dudes and super friendly. Mark (who was my instructor for the day) is evidently very passionate about two-wheelers and has a penchant for teaching. An 8+ hour course flew by and was very effective in instilling the basics of riding motorcycles, definitely felt like more than just a formality to get out of the way before jumping on your first 125. Would strongly recommend.

I visited Raven to do my CBT and got a place straight away (much quicker than other places I'd looked at) I opted to do the extra training beforehand as I've never riden before. I was glad I did as it made the actual CBT much easier and you can concentrate on the training rather than still getting to grips with the bike. Mark and the guys at Raven make it a relaxed and friendly environment for you to learn in and teach at a pace that you are comfortable with. I will be returning when I take my full bike test and would recommend Raven to anyone looking for motorcycle training in the future.

Great place to do my CBT! the additional Pre CBT option was really useful in giving me confidence on the bike before the actual CBT. My instructor (Mark) was very clear and calm when teaching. A really good atmosphere if you are just getting into biking and my mistakes were corrected patiently so didn't affect my confidence. Will definitely return when I need further training!

It did not seem possible to me that the journey towards A category licence could be enjoyable. My way towards B category certainly wasn't. But Raven and the team have turned the tables around! These guys are down to earth, they transmute all of the formalities into a language that is easily understable for you. I could only wish that they had more gear for learners when the times are colder and a two way communication with instructor instead of one way. Happy rides to all!

My father has just past his mods with these guys and suggested I retake my CBT here, I'm glad I did. I rang them to explain that I have issues with my Uturns but otherwise I am quite steady, I hadn't ridden since January either. Immediately they put me at ease, and assured me that they would work with me. I arrived at the centre at 8.45 and met Cam and Andy. Cam was to retake his CBT too, we sat and chatted about bike safety and gear. We got onto bikes that were specifically selected to our different heights (nice touch on their part) we were given very clear and concise instructions, we were advised when we could improve, but more importantly, how to make the improvements. When it came to that all important U-turn, my instructor couldn't have been more patient with me. He allowed me the time and gave me the guidence to massively improve and left me the confidence to actually practice this in my own time ready for my Mods. Already started practicing for the theory. Having started with another school I moved to Raven because of lack of availability but was so glad i did. I had Jim for most of my direct access training through mod 1 and 2, he was just fantastic. The big difference with Raven is they actually care, attentive, patient and friendly in the training. Easy to book on the phone. Weather was great so good start 🔆 Morning was mixed with talk's and time in the yard riding. Had a good hour for lunch, chit chat and Raven 🥰 In the afternoon we went out on the roads to use what we learnt in the morning session. The place had been reccomended to me by more than one of my mates, after taking the course I can see why. I'd been late but the instructor was understanding, was renewing my cbt after 2+ years of riding but had some difficulty adjusting to the course's bike. The instructor took the extra time and patience to get me through the course without too much trouble. I learnt new techniques, learnt to work out of some bad riding habits and brushed up on the highway code so overall it was well worth the trip, time and cost. Keep up the good work. On a special note, I have a severe trust issue from an accident riding passenger on a bicycle years ago so untill now there were zero people I would put my life in their hands with, however the instructor had been that proffessional that I was able to conquer my fear and ride passenger while he demontrated proper bike control. Jim and his team have been so helpful and encouraging when I've been training and getting my CBT. I have waited to do this review until I had been riding for a couple months. These trainers are the best people I know. I rsng up and said I wanted to do my cat and I'd never ride a bike and they told me to do the day and a half and it will massively help and my god did it. If you have never rode a bike defo do the day and a half you will thank your stars when you do the cbt like i did. The experance of the training was relaxed and calm and helped make you feel in control and could take it at your own pace. The trainers obviously care about you and are no way just doing it for the money they want you to pass and they make sure you are ready before letting you onto the road. When I passed on a moped I asked should I get an auto or a manual bike and they told me get a manual and you'll be prepared for the bigger bikes. I listened and I am thankful I did because my bike is the best and I couldn't imagine going to a automatic now having the control of the gears its amazing. I was scared riding by my self for the first time but within an hour I was ready and on the road and it felt like I had been on the road for years. A massive thank you to this school and all the hard work you put in. I cant wait to do my next test with you.

Did the pre cbt course, which led to completion of cbt. Knowledgeable instructors, bike supplied for my height 6ft3. 1.5 days for me, but at 57 l already had fair bit of road sense/experience, meaning l just had to learn bike control, not worry about road rules. All in all it’s a good place to learn, your paying for the teaching and bike hire/safety and they were first class. Do not be put off by look of buildings, as the bikes, gear borrowed, teaching, and finally road safety with instructors with radios etc were first class. Just listen to them and you will learn a lot. update 26/8/21 - returned, trained on latest Z650 , passed A unrestricted tests, all under watchful eye of Mark who's teaching is at a superb level. Knowledgeable and friendly in its delivery. Fully recommended.

I had no other choice but to travel 50 miles to do my CBT as I had a day off work offered at last minute and no other instructors were available at such short notice. It was totally worth it! These guys are fantastic. Highly recommend. It should say a lot considering the fact that I am more than willing to make the 100 mile round trip to go through DAS with Raven. Mark is a highly skilled rider, covered all sections of the CBT in depth, and gave flawless examples of manoeuvres, when required, by using one of our bikes. I was slightly rusty as it had been a while since I rode my bike, but I immediately felt at ease due to the instructors reassurance and patience. I really cannot describe how much I enjoyed taking my CBT with Raven, infinitely better than my first experience with a local instructor. If you have the choice between traveling an hour to take your test with these guys versus 5 minutes to a local instructor; Book it with Raven, trust me, you won't regret it!

I can’t recommend Raven highly enough! I had thought about doing the Direct Access Scheme for a few weeks, and was looking for a good school who could accomodate beginners as I’d never even sat on a motorbike before. I was recommended to go to Raven by another motorcyclist as he used them for his training and spoke very highly of both Mark and Jim. I rang and got through to Mark who went through the DAS in detail and recommended I tried a Pre-CBT to start with which was very helpful and gave me confidience for the full CBT. After I passed the CBT I booked some Module 1 training straight away and 3 days training later, I passed the Mod1 test first time round. Another couple of days Module 2 training with Jim and I was ready for my Mod2 test. Again, I passed first time round, and that’s all down to the first class training that Raven have provided. They are approachable, highly knowledgeable and have a great sense of humour which helps to put you at ease and make the whole experience enjoyable. ORIGINAL: I have so far completed my CBT on a 125cc manual bike, 2 days on the road training on a 650cc and also passed my Mod1 😁. I also had a pre CBT half day as it was my first time on a manual bike. I have another day on the road booked with the guys and my Mod2 test booked. Both Mark and Jim have been awesome. It is a really friendly atmosphere at Raven and the way the training is delivered is excellent. The bikes are really good quality and nice to ride and they have all the gear available to keep you protected, warm and dry. I have just finished my initial CBT and passed. Bear in mind that my friends only called me and asked whether I was up for doing a CBT the week before… so I just said “well hell yher”. Being a non-experienced rider and only having ridden a bike when I was about 15 years old tazzing around parks ect the whole skill of riding a bike was alien to me. I am now 37 years old, a lot wiser/responsible and like to think I have a lot more road sense with driving nearly all my adult life. Therefore i was ready to learn a new skill. Riding a bike is completely different to driving. I cannot thank Mark enough for his style of teaching. He makes complex tasked easy to learn. He is also extremely patient and has a calm approachable demeanour about him. He is also very laid back, chilled and relaxed but firm and direct when he needs to be. We spent the first session going through the basic functions of the bike using the enclosed grounds to learn start / stop clutch control. Once you establish those basics skills, you then move on to changing gears, emergency stop, turning around the road to face the other side and what to do when approaching a junction. It was very cleaver because throughout the whole period practicing in the enclosed grounds we did not go beyond 2nd gear. Once the CBT starts, you will ride the bike in its full glory approaching real traffic and real junctions. This is the point you will start transitioning to gear 3, 4 and 5. Again Mark brilliantly coaches you through the wireless microphone/headset and coaches you On where to turn, what road to take ect. I am not going to lie, the experience is tough, daunting, freighting but exciting all rolled in to one. So thanks to Mark, he made it a great experience. We had a great laugh in general and the team are really friendly! I would recommend also having a pre CBT riding session before your actual CBT. Its worth paying for and it will give you so much productivity when you actually take the assessment. Cheers Raven team. Regards Homby

Great training! Perfect pace, detail, attention and friendliness. The instructors are brilliant and know exactly what you are doing wrong and how to help you to correct it. You will see your riding ability leap up in a short space of time under these experienced, life-long motorcycle instructors. They always remain calm and treat you respectfully, especially when you are struggling to grasp a certain manoeuvre, which is when you need your composure most. Their training helps you to become a safe rider. For example, they are always reminding you to do your safety checks and never let you slack, which one day could be a life saver. But they also know how to teach you to ride a motorcycle in a fun way, whilst being safe, and keep you entertained with a catalogue of funny anecdotes along the way. Having never been astride a motorbike in over 43 years I was very nervous when i first parked up outside Raven Motorcycle Training, but I need not of worried? Mark and Jim are totally brilliant instructors! Top quaility training!!!!! I had never been on a motorbike and Raven came highly recommended from a high profile local bike store. I informed them that I just wanted to give it a go and see if I liked riding. They could not be more helpful. Spoke to me for 20 mins to discuss my needs and experience. It was decided that a pre CBT was needed as I was a complete novice. They have great bikes and all the equipment, I turned up in jeans and boots as requested. The whole course was excellent, started off with the basics and gradually moved forward. Within 4 hours I was riding through the streets with confidence. All done in a relaxed chilled environment. Mark, my instructor for the day, quickly provided a relaxed and friendly environment to get to know each other and grab a coffee. Great place to do my CBT. Been waiting for years to finally get on a bike and I couldnt have picked a better place. The whole day was steady paced, and the instructors never just moved on from a particular task due to time. They talked, explained and demonstrated anything I asked clearly untill I had the grasp myself. The on road training was equally great if not better. The instructor gave us clear directions and frequently commented on out riding performance as well as highlighting our mistakes. During which we stopped had a talk over everything, and aimed to improve in the second half. I couldn't recommend these guys enough, even if you're just thinking of trying out riding a motorcycle. The only downside I would mention is the number of times our instructor had to take a call for bookings, Some may be annoyed by this, but I saw it as testament to thier popularity as buisness.

After doing my CBT with another company I contacted the same company to train for my full license but they couldn't offer me any lessons for more than two weeks later ! I decided to contact Raven Motorcycle Training (after reading their excellent reviews) to see if they could offer me some training and advice, I wasn't disappointed, Mark offered me two full afternoon training sessions that week, I went on to complete my Mod 1 the following week and then my Mod 2 the week after that. Mark was always obliging when it came to booking my Mod 1 & Mod 2 in regards to being available on the days booked for the tests. The training was thorough with helpful constructive criticism along with a hint of humour to keep things relaxed. On the days of the tests Mark made sure things were relaxed prior to leaving for the test centre and at arrival made sure everything was in place. All in all they are highly recommendable. Well 2yrs on from my last CBT & I have been back again. I did not even bother to look at other companies as my last experience had been so positive. This time I learned that I had picked up a few bad habits since my last visit, however I was given patience whilst I tried to correct them. I was also on a different bike to my own which took a little getting used to and again patience was shown whilst I did this. 2yrs ago I trained with Jim & this time Mark, I found that both guys are great instructors. I was also a little more nervous about retaking my CBT as my last journey on my bike had resulted in a broken arm & it was my first time on a bike since the accident. Once again I found that the atmosphere was relaxed. Do not get me wrong you are under a certain amount of scrutiny from the guys so they can make sure you are safe for the road with this said there is no more pressure than needed to make sure this is the case. I have to say Mark was very helpful from the initial phone. My CBT ran out on the 13th May so I had little time to get my mod 2 sorted, Mark informed me that I could book my own test online, I was unaware of this but it helped me loads as I was able to do this while Mark was still on the phone and then he managed to fit me in with training in time for my test ( I passed with 0 minors ) couldn't of done it without Raven Motorcycle training. I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed my training at Raven , thanks to Mark for all the on road experience and thanks to Jim also as both guys are very knowledgable and gave me lots of advice. I can't rate these guys highly enough and would recommend them to anyone, very reasonable prices for what I would say is the best training around and I must add I did my 3 stages at 3 motorcycle training schools due to different circumstances at the time, my only regret is not finding Raven first as I think my DAS would of been done and dusted a lot sooner! I'll start by saying if you're currently searching the Internet for somewhere to do CBT or any other training, look no further and book with Raven motorcycle training. Having never even sat on a bike, I recently completed my CBT on a geared bike under the top class instruction of Mark. After spending a long time emailing and talking to other companies, whom are genuinely sub par compared to these guys, I sent an email to Raven and within two days I was on a bike and completing my CBT. Both Mark and Jim have a true passion for motorbikes and training future riders to ride safely and with a level of skill above the rest. I was extremely nervous at first, and I had let them know about this before hand, but I shouldn't have worried at all. From the first meeting I felt relaxed and calm, with an inclusive atmosphere and a more personal approach to each individual taking part. Not to mention the some what hilarious jokes Mark let us enjoy throughout the day 😉. The day went better than I spent the night before worrying about, I didn't fear making mistakes, or asking questions. Mark was extremely patient throughout, demonstrating each task to us, and explaining things perfectly. Hi. I completed my CBT with Raven last week on a 125 cc bike. It was great experience. Very professional and lots of fun too. CBT - Great day, great instructors, very friendly. Passed no problem. ** Edit 13/12/18 ** So we went on to our DAS components - Theory/MOD1/MOD2. Starting late September, with Raven's flexible approach, we booked full Saturdays for our tuition, and weren't forced down a one-size-fits-all format. Mark's tuition and approach were outstanding, professional yet friendly, always a good laugh thrown in as well. He made sure we were carrying out all our bike skills to the best of our abilities, not "just enough" for a test. Absolutely great pair of guys, informative and professional. For any new riders, I would reccomend the pre-CBT as it gives you a head start with the bike and it's controls, manouvers, safety and everything else you would need to know before taking a step further onto the road. I've had the most enjoyable experience possible and It's been extremely fun, Mark and Jim are a seriously great pair of guys as they're friendly, open and make you feel right at home. They go at your own pace and never make you do anything you're not totally comfortable with, It is full hands on training but their aim is for you to succed and leave with the knowledge you need to become a safe and succesfull rider. I was a bit nervous to start my motorcycle training. I have a little language barrier, never been on a bike before, don't have any gear. Jim and Mark put my mind at ease before my CBT. CBT went smoothly and I couldn't believe that at the end of the day I as riding a motorcycle and having fun. After CBT I've started my DAS training. Jim was my instructor and he's brilliant. Never felt any pressure, every single ride out was a lot of fun, but at the same time I was learning very quickly. Both guys are very relaxed and they create perfect environment for learning. They expect you to make mistakes and very clearly explain how to avoid them next time. They are very well equipped as well. I was riding in cold wet weather but their gear made me warm, dry and protected at all times. The bikes they use are amazing. Easy to ride, well maintained. I can't thank them enough as I have passed my DAS on first attempt! I recommend Raven MCT for anyone. If you always wanted to ride a motorcycle they are the people to go to. Just go there, have a chat and they will accommodate your needs and experience. Amazing experience overall. Just make sure you don't have too much fun which is very easy with them!

These guys have taken me from CBT all the way through to DAS. Thoroughly satisfied with the quality of training and a lifetime of experience the team have to offer. The guys will bend over backwards to look after you, both my MOD1 and MOD2 tests I booked with less than 24 hours notice when cancellations popped up online, they managed to juggle things about no problem so now I''ll be able to ride all summer. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed they've seen and heard it all before there is no such thing as a stupid question. I phoned around a few schools before starting and they also seem the best value for money, they also won't book tests on your behalf with a hefty markup like the bigger firms do, you're free to book it all yourself. So glad came I here and didn't waste 800 quid on a week long course, I feel like they've taught me not only to pass the test but made sure that I'm the best possible rider I can be in the relatively short time we've had together.

At first ravens is a little hard to find. If you don’t know where to look. After calling in mark gave me directs from where I was, and helped me find my way. I was greeted my a little poodle looking dog called raven, have you guessed ? He was named after the school. How cool ay. Raven seemed to tell me off but very quickly became my friend (what a lovely dog). Mark was an exceptional man, Out of the box thinking on the way he teaches. Mark keeps it funny and interacting yet still keeps in mind the importance to the course. I think he taught me more than I needed to know to pass the cbt, which he didn’t need to do. He did that because he’s passionate about his job and business. Mark also only has two riders at a time so he concentrate and give you the attention you deserve. I was lucky to book a day when i was the only person there. And I loved it what a nice dog, place, instructor, Jim. Mark earned himself a McDonald’s from me. Just because of how good he is . Done my CBT training today with Mark, where to start, well I rang just over a week before and Mark was very courteous and welcoming on the phone, I felt relaxed from that point on, I arrived to find both Jim and Mark on time and already setting up around 20 minutes earlier than arranged, after a quick coffee and a chat we were into the good stuff almost straight away, first run down was informative and I could tell Mark knew and believed in what he was saying, it didn't feel like I was taking my CBT at this point again it felt more like 2 mates chatting, after the brief it was straight onto the bike... no messing! I explained to Mark that I will be a bit ginger to begin and this was not a problem, Mark was very patient, very calm and explained situations and scenarios in a language I could easily understand, even when I didn't necessarily understand straight away Mark remained composed and professional at all times. After lunch we began the road riding section of the CBT again Mark couldn't be anymore professional and it straightaway put me at ease, even after silly errors and a bit of hesitating I felt at no point I was under pressure to "get it right" and this allowed me to get it right. The course went at a very good pace, not too rushed so information didn't sit and not too slow it became boring, overall Mark and Jims professionalism, politeness and knowledge was second to none, these guys care and these guys want you to do well! If I am to recommend a company for anybody to do their motorcycle training I will be recommending Raven and I hope to be back in the future to complete my "big" bike licence! Keep it up guys I had a really great day, thank you!

I came in as a complete newcomer to riding and wanted to get my CBT on a 125cc geared bike. Too much too fast, Jim suggested swopping after an hour of not just not getting the hang of it, to a 50cc twist and go, to gain the confidence to ride properly. Had a great day learning how to control and ride a bike safely.
