I learned to drive with Ravi at Herne Hill Driving School and it has been a truly rewarding experience. As someone who’d put off learning until I was in my early 40s, I feared it would take me a while to get into the groove but Ravi understood and designed a learning programme that really suited me and filled me with confidence in the run-up to the driving test. I looked forward to the lessons each week and once we were in the car I felt relaxed in Ravi’s friendly company, while also highly motivated to learn and improve. It’s been an extremely rewarding process and – wow! – I passed at the first attempt this week. I honestly could not have had a better experience. I’m genuinely glad I did this now in my life – and I can’t thank Ravi enough for his support, understanding, skill and incredible empathy on test day! Thank you so much to Ravi and all at Herne Hill Driving School.

I started learning in August 2021 with zero experience before and Gary was brilliant from the outset, wasting no time at all getting me onto main roads in the first lesson. I really struggled with driving anxiety and my confidence before I found this driving school. Salim is an amazing instructor. He is very professional yet, personable. He really understands how to actually teach someone to develop a high standard skillset and helped me to overcome my worries about driving. Salim has great communication, I was never unsure about our scheduling and he was always on time. He is extremely approachable and supportive; encouraging me to ask as many questions as I needed to understand and feel confident in my decisions on the road. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Ravi has been my driving instructor and I cannot compliment him enough. If you are looking for a genuinely nice guy who knows what they are doing then Ravi is your man! He has been really helpful throughout my process of learning and has been flexible with lessons at all times. He is an excellent instructor and had flexible education skills to help me understand and learn about the different facets of driving. He used a number of different learning resources including video recording our approach to a busy junction and talking me through the approach afterwards. He was punctual for all our lessons and was easily contacted when needed. I felt fully prepared for the test. His car was comfortable and clean and easy to drive. Would highly recommend! Couldn't recommend this enough!! a little over a month before my driving test I decided I needed to change an instructor and go automatic as I was making no progress and just started hating driving - I would get so anxious before every lesson I would shake. I passed my driving test with salim today Salim is the best driving instructor I've ever met. Salim gave me confidence and knowledge to pass my test. Before my test I was so nervous, salim words while on my test was on my mind I could hear his voice in my mind saying stay left ,take third exit and bear right. Without salim knowledge of driving and his friendly manner I wouldn't of passed my test today. I recommend salim to everyone and if he ever gives up his day job less people will pass there tests. I highly recommend Herne Hill Driving School. Rav is an exceptional instructor - very friendly and a great communicator. There is a difference between leaning to drive to pass a test, and learning to pass a test but also be a great and safe driver and Gary denfinately does the latter, no nonsense.

A big thank you to my awesome instructor HARISH, who helped me to PASS MY DRIVING TEST FIRST TIME and with just a bit less than 15 hours practicing!!! I was so nervous since Harish picked me up in the morning and all the test through that I quite didn't believed I passed with only 4 silly mistakes I made due to my nervousness. Harish is a great instructor, always treating me with respect, calling my attention when I did something wrong, as well as for me to pay attention to speed limits, position of the car on the road, etc and encouraging me to carry on and clearing out all my doubts with patience and care. I felt really safe and secure that he was a serious instructor, as he never pushed me to do more lessons, just the enough I needed to build up confidence and learn all the maneuvers, as well he didn't waist time during the lessons, but was paying attention to what I was doing all the time, correcting my mistakes and teaching me to take total control of the car. On my last training day when I asked him if I should do an additional lesson one day before the test he said "no, you are ready, you know how all you need, stop worrying too much!" so I was more than sure he was not just trying to consume time, but was seriously just making me ready for the test and that I should must be ready though. On the test day I wanted to practice everything again but started getting maneuvers wrong so he just told me to relax and breathe, encouraged me and told me to trust him and not to practice anymore as this could make things go wrong. So we did and I got back home victorious and released as this phase is now over. We got it! Thank you! Big thanks Harish, I do so much recommend you and Herne Hill Driving School, such a professional and great instructor!

My driving instructor from another company had a urgent health problem and could not attend my exam anymore, an exam that has been moved twice due to the pandemic. Herne Hill Driving school promptly provided a solution and put me in contact with Salim which has been more than accommodating given my work schedule. In the little time I had before the exam I've been able to take only two lesson with him and try to adjust to a completely different car. Salim did not only boosted my overall driving confidence but his teachings are just on another level; he opened my eyes on so many things that the other instructor did not even mention! Did my theory test just before Covid, then things went into lock down.practical test was cancelled until 2021 July.Searched for an instructor and decided to go with Herne hill driving school as they were the closest to my address. I was already able to drive so just needed a few lessons on the Uk road code. Met Gary my driving instructor on the evening before my driving test who was able to spend 2 hours with me showing me my faults and also what’s required on the test morning. Admittedly I was a bit nervous thinking I did not leave myself much time to gather all this information Gary had to offer,but with credit to Gary he showed me all that was needed in the 2 hour slot and was very informative. On the morning of my practical I am proud to say I passed. This was my first time. I will always highly recommend anyone to Herne Hill driving school, who needs lessons. if I only had 2 hours show me and passed not knowing much of the Uk roads etc Instructor Gary I have no doubt will continue passing students who has more time to spare than I did. Gary has been the most brilliant instructor. I could not rate him highly enough. He is an incredibly enthusiastic and patient teacher. He not only teaches you to drive really well in London, he is also good fun with lots of energy - which always kept the momentum up in my lessons (even the 3 hour ones!). Herne Hill Driving School was very efficient in responding to my inquiry about seeking driving tuition and they placed me in contact with an instructor literally the same day. Well, what can I say! Absolutely fantastic experience with Herne Hill Driving School. Gary was an outstanding teacher - he'll get you out learning on proper roads as fast as possible, and teaches to a standard higher than the test, so when test day arrives you will be more than ready. I contacted Herne Hill Driving school to arrange lessons whilst at home from university over Christmas, as recommend by my university driving instructor. The school got back to me quickly and efficiently, and arranged for me to meet one of their instructors shortly after I arrived home. Over the course of a month, I had 7 lessons (each an hour and a half) with their instructor Saba. Saba is just wonderful! She was calm and patient and gave me freedom and most control over the car, which I hadn’t really experienced with my instructor outside of London. He also knows the whole area brixton, streatham, down to croydon and all around like the back of his hand and so lessons seemed well planned and we had a good mix of driving on roads I was familiar / comfortable with and new ones to get better experience. Initially I had the pleasure of learning with Peter, who was super cool and introduced me to driving in an easy and relaxed way. I moved out of London for over a year and when I returned, Peter had moved onto Auto, so I was connected with Rav, also at Herne Hill Driving School. Within 30 lessons or so, he got me to the test and I passed first time!! Rav knows whats up on the road, having been in the industry teaching for over 15 years. Full of positive support and advice, I would certainly recommend him as a driving instructor. He is funny and will bend over backwards if you commit to the lessons. Gary is a superstar - he goes above and beyond to help his learners. He even came to a last minute driving test that I booked the day before when he was ON HIS WAY TO GO ON HOLIDAY. My journey has had so many ups and downs. When I first failed my driving test I just wanted to give up as I thought I'm never going to get this. As someone with social anxiety I have to say he really made me feel relaxed and at ease. Remains professional and thorough throughout lessons without over complicating things; very patient and calm. Each lesson is super helpful especially getting little tips and tricks which you dont find very often with other instructors - picks up strenfths and weaknesses very quickly and plans lessons around this areas. Just had my 3rd 2 hour lesson with Lyndon and I'm so happy, I used to have heart palpitations at the thought of even getting behind the wheel, no joke it used to make me feel physically sick , thankfully I picked up the courage to book my first lesson, and my god I'm glad I did! I had nothing to worry about and felt safe and at ease with Lyndon! He reassured me that his job was to not only teach me to drive but to ensure I was safe. Each week I look forward to my next lesson, I now have to be as enthusiastic about learning the theory side of it!!
