I have had multiple driving instructors from rac and aa. I got nowhere with them. I took a gamble on car captain and was very pleased with their service. The instructor I had did not bog me down with details and gave me clear instructions on what I needed to focus on. Learning to drive with them was a total pleasure. Passed first time. 12 calendar days from the first call till successful exam. Great experience above my expectations. Yolanda is a guru of scheduling. During the first call, we had a chat about my experience level and she precisely predicted how many hours I will need to prepare and produced a list of instructors to choose from. I contacted CarCaptain on Friday, had lessons with Samir scheduled each other day starting Tuesday and I passed a car test at Mill Hill on Wednesday week after. Samir the instructor addressed all my worries (roundabouts especially) and managed to progress me from "panic mode, the wrong side of the road" to a relaxed zero stress exam just in 5 sessions. Separate kudos for that great feeling you get when you go to a tricky junction on the exam and you have confidence of "I remember this place, I was here with the instructor and I know what to do". I drove a car many years ago in a county where they drive on the right side of the road, I had my car theory exam passed a year ago and I never sat in a driver's seat in my 5+ years in the UK before contacting CarCaptain.

I had previous driving experience before going with Car Captain and just wanted to pick up where I left off around 2-3 years ago. I contacted there office and must say everytime I called all the ladies I dealt with were friendly and helpful and also patient with all my questions. I was given loads of different options to suit my needs. I was paired with an AMAZING driving instructor Simon who is super experienced. We did around 20 hours of lessons over 2 weeks before I took my test today and PASSED with only two minors. Simon is patient and friendly and doesn't spoon feed you lets you use your brain which ultimately results in you learning and it sticking. Would recommend to anyone!

I had a great fast experience with Carcaptain. I had contact Carcaptain in regards to their intensive course due to my theory test expiring in March! With great customer service, Yolanda advised 9 or 11 hours after the phone assessment. I had a good instructor named Mallack who helped fix my performance and really prep me for my test with a 11 hour intensive course! I started last week Monday, Yolanda booked my test for that Saturday... AND I PASSED FIRST TIME!!! With all the help from Yolanda & Mallack I passed my test within 5 days!!!! Carcaptain is a great service with very fast bookings for practical test!!!

I passed!! On 40 hours! (43 hour booking all together). It's a little more expensive than other places but when I really read the reviews both good and bad I decided to give it a go. My instructor Theepa was really patient and did make sure I was ready in the 2 weeks to take my test. She was honest and said if I wasn't ready she'd tell me and we'd need to book more lessons as well. She really is lovely to learn from. As a new driver I needed a 40 hour booking and know I wouldn't have passed with any less then that. I failed my first attempt through my own silly fault but breezed through my second with only 4 minors! I'm super chuffed with that! I think if your going down the intensive route just know its expensive to retake your test, you'll need to book one or two top up lessons, you'll need to book the test and car hire too. So try your hardest to pay attention and keep an open mind and learn as best as possible. The intensive course is mentally intensive and you need to have barely any distractions e.g. Training for a new job, or stressful time restriction. This may not be suitable for some people and I totally understand why you may or may not be ready in two weeks, but it won't be the fault of the company. All the girls I spoke to at head office were bubbly and kind. They really work around the clock to get you booked in for a test, it really is someone's job to be looking at slots all day. They stay up late, wake up early all to get your test booked ASAP when your ready. I had a very good experience with carcaptain, even though my purse didn't haha. I passed and am pleased with the service from all the staff.

I never could or would of passed if it wasn't for Carcaptain and especially Gerry, my driving instructor. He kept me going when i couldn't see the light at the end of the tunnel. He always believed in me when I did not, all of this joint together made me pass first time!!! I didn't think I could but I did. Before car captain I was not a very confident driver but after learning with them I managed to pass my test first time. The instructor I had was very helpful and friendly. She made me feel relaxed which helped considerably with my driving. Car captain was also very good at getting everything organised including the test date so instead of having to book it months in advance I only had to wait a week. As a recent graduate, I had an extremely narrow time-frame in which to pass my driving test before I started working. I had never driven before, and therefore registered for an intensive care driving course with CarCaptain. Booking the time slots was extremely easy and flexible, and Yolanda was very helpful every step of the way. My test date was also booked immediately, the day right after my lessons would be completed. Driving lessons, especially initially, are never easy; however, my instructor, Abi, is the kind of driving instructor everyone would want to have. A very practical mixture of tough love and encouragement is exactly what any novice driver requires. Every criticism was constructive, and he was extremely patient at all times. I was terrified in the beginning, but he gave me enough confidence to navigate main roads within two hours of the first lesson (bearing in mind that before this, I have never laid my hands on a steering wheel before!). My intensive driving course totaled 36 hours, spread over 10 days, and - I passed my driving test on first try. Therefore, the results do not lie - this course is fantastic, for people under pressure to pass their test or for people who just want to acquire a driving license as quickly as possible. CarCaptain is not only effective and efficient, it is also a very friendly service. Yolanda and her colleagues kept tabs on me the entire time, and asked me how I was getting along with the lessons. They also wished me luck before my test and congratulated me when I achieved a happy result. Look no further if you want driving lessons under the perfect conditions and pass your driving test first time around. Highly recommended.

There's little more frustrating than failing a driving test, that is until you come to re-book and find that there's nothing available for 3 months...With CarCaptain I failed on the 24th and had passed 12 days later, the service was very friendly and I had the feeling that they would have found me a test for any day that I wanted rather than my just getting lucky. Very happy with the service I received from Car Captain. I found the admin Yolanda extremely helpful and the instructor Abdul perfect. I previously had failed two tests, looked elsewhere and found Car Captain. I found Abdul's methods of teaching much better than what I was used to previously and very glad to say I passed my test within a week of starting my crash course. I needed to learn to drive as we were moving out of London and would need a car at our new address. I didn't have the time to learn slowly over months of weekend lessons, and my work schedule meant that normal weekday lessons were not feasible. So I took a week's holiday and did an intensive course (including two sets of weekends). I emailed quite a few driving schools, but CarCaptain were the most responsive and seemed to understand better than others that my time was very limited. My instructor, Johno, was fantastic and tolerated me causing untold damage to his car's gear box. At the end of the course I took the practical test and failed (but in fairness it was very nearly a pass). CarCaptain promptly arranged another test at the same centre, and I did an extra 10 hours of lessons over a following weekend. I passed comfortably on the second attempt. I got the service and outcome I needed from a very helpful and supportive team. If you are in a similar position, I would happily recommend CarCaptain.

We discussed my requirements and what course was best suited for me. I was extremely impressed with the level of service and instruction I received from both Car Captain and my instructor. Car Captain: they arranged everything down to the details the way I wanted it. Yolanda was a pleasure to deal with, always fast to respond and made sure that I was able to book lessons on exactly the days and times that I wanted them. When it came time to book a test, I was very picky with the day and time I wanted the test booked, and Car Captain managed to get a test on this specific day with only one week's notice! All logistical aspects of the course were handled perfectly and I would definitely recommend Car Captain - not only because they can provide an intensive course, but because they can provide it structured around exactly when you're free. My instructor, Shayed: was an amazing instructor. He did a great job at identifying the weak areas of my driving and tailoring my lessons to target them so that I got the most out of the time I spent in the car. Whereas lessons with other instructors might just feel like a 'guided drive', with Shayed it was clear that my driving was always being evaluated and improved in the most effective way. He also did a great job at preparing me for the actual driving test, with all lessons full of helpful tips and information about the test itself and what the best strategies for passing were. Finally, he was very easy to talk to and get along with, which matters a lot when you spend so many hour a week sat next to someone in a car. In the end I passed my test the first time with only 4 minors, which says as much about Car Captain and Shayed's competence as it does about my own driving skill. Thank you very much!

He took time to explain the why of driving and his instructions were totally spot on at the exam. I passed with them first time and I am very pleased overall with the service and instruction.

I was an experienced driver but did not feel like I was improving with once a week lessons with my old instructor, So I decided to search online and came across Carcaptain, it was pretty straight forward to find intensive courses. It is a little pricey because of the amount of hours but it was all worth it. My instructor was THEEPA, (lovely lady) she taught me everyday for 2 hours, always made sure her car was clean for her students and never made me feel under pressure unlike my old instructors. Any week spots I had we went over it several times until I was confident. I highly recommend Intensive courses with Carcaptain!

FIRST TIME PASS...... (thanks to my Instructor and CarCaptain) I was searching and comparing many different companies on-line to do my driving lessons and tests. I finally came to the right choice with CarCaptain. When i finally spoke to them, they were very helpful and polite. The Administration was really good with a few hiccups but all in all a great service. The day after i booked with them i received a call from my driving instructor and was told we could begin that same day. I met him and he was great with explaining, listening but most of all patient and calm which made me felt at ease right away and helped me a lot to gain confidence. Having not driven a car since I was 17 when I had a few lessons but never pursued driving, I contacted CarCaptain on 20th September, explaining I wanted to start my course the next day and take the practical test on 28th September. As I still had to pass the theory test, I decided to take my practical test on Saturday 29th September. I passed my theory test on 25th September and CarCaptain found me a practical test that afternoon for 29th September. I found their service absolutely excellent, they called me back as soon as they had found the instructor at the beginning then my instructor contacted me personally and we arranged to start the next morning at 8am. Johan was a really great instructor and identified how to help me improve each day over the week. By the fifth day, I felt ready to take my test and had a good understanding of how to drive safely. After going through the a lot of sites and posting questions on the internet I had hit a stump, I needed a driver's licence and I needed one quick. As a hunch I went for Carcaptain I guess it was their clear-cut, no nonsense website that attracted me. Carcptain got me my dates and found me a great instructor for my 23 hour intensive driving course which I passed on my first attempt. Having failed my driving test quite miserably at the first attempt, I was determined to rebook it again as soon as possible, while my memory of test routes was still fresh. I had my test on the 13th of August and the DSA website wasn't showing any dates until the 9th of October onwards. I was really disappointed, because I wanted to get a chance to redo my driving test again before returning to work in September, but also before my theory test expires in October. I called Car Captain today, telling them my requirements (a test date before the end of August) and lo and behold, within a few hours, they had gotten me a test date for the 29th of August, just like that!!! I had been looking for late August test dates since June with no luck, so am really happy to be given another shot at this driving test before the end of the month. Having read other favourable reviews about Car Captain's intensive driving courses, I'm also considering one of these to boost my chances of passing the test second time round. Fingers crossed all goes well this time around!

The Carcaptain experience i had was exceptional. They were very helpful in the way they helped me get my course booked and get a practical test so quickly. Just an FYI A number of the positive reviewers on here have only ever left one or two reviews on google before and often for the same handful of companies including 'instantmoneyonline' types etc. Sorry to say but I get the impression CarCaptain have hired a bunch of people to give them protracted glowing reviews. Read the reviews and check the reviewers history before deciding to purchase - I was almost taken in and it's a lot of money to spend on the basis of potentially false advertising. If I'm right and a false reviewer is reading this, you should be ashamed of yourself.

Their service was phenomenal - even though I was on holiday abroad, they were able to find me an instructor, book 20 hours of lessons, and get me a test only a week later. We live in the City of London and it was Carcaptain's brilliant advice that she travel out to Chingford for her lessons which really helped her confidence. Imagine having to stop at traffic lights and then make an uphill turn towards St. Paul's Cathedral during your first lesson. Martha was studying in France and not able to practise between lessons but Carcaptain were always accommodating and able to arrange lessons when she was in England. One of the reasons we chose Carcaptain was their ability to find test sessions on a specific day rather than wait for ages. Martha may not have been Carcaptain's quickest learner but by the time she passed her test she was able to drive so that even her nervous mother was able to relax when being driven. Martha had to take three tests before she passed but her friend Henry did an intensive week and then passed his test first go. Carcaptain was great for both of them.
