Past my test here first time. The examiner Neil was spot on spoke to me from the start which calmed my nerves down and made the hour a lot easier for me. Would recommend this test centre. Thanks Neil 👌

Just failed, but Vicky was very reasonable and supportive in the test. The fail was my own fault at the 2nd to last roundabout on the way back to the center. Road signs from A579 to test center are a little confusing. Be aware that there are 4 exits, back to the center from A579 is left lane. Right lane is right only and will result in fail if leaving off any other exit other than Gadbury Fold despite sign having Atherton/Bolton right to 12 on the sign as A579 carry's on on 3rd exit.

Went for Mod1 test here. The pad is pristine, tarmac is excellent quality (used to use the same stuff on race tracks apparently!) which made for real ease on slow and fast manoeuvres. Had John who was a true gent. Everything was explained to me before I went to the centre by my instructor, however John gave full, clear and concise instruction as well so don't be nervous. Can definitely recommend as the staff I met were fantastic.

Taken my test today. I did fail. However, the examiner was great. His calming attitude instilled a level of calmness in me. Really needed for people with bad nerves on big days. He was friendly and even laughed at my poor joke when I offered to take him shopping on the way past Iceland! I obviously can't speak for all of the staff, but I really feel credit where credit is due. Contrary to how I should feel, it was a really good experience. Definetly going to work on areas that have been recommended. Also, failing in a controlled environment, is better than passing and ending up in a collision. For those who fail, it is an opportunity to see areas that need improvement. If I get the same examiner on my next test, I can honestly say that I would be really happy. I failed because of me. Not the examiner or instructor. They are both fantastic at their jobs. Thank you for my experience today. I just hope that I practice enough for next time, rectify my mistakes and finally pass. Good luck to everyone who is taking their test. Remember, failing doesn't make you a failure, it's guidance on areas you need to improve.

I have failed my truck 🚚 test here 2 times ⏲️ but still want to do it there it was my fault. I am stuck because I paid loads of money and time other wise I wouldn't be bothered with this headache. Since June last year 2 time postponed etc with covid 21 haha I suggest that the examinar should know we are getting nervous if they come out with face like what you doing here 😅 I think that is not going to help they should be happy and friendly to boost your confidence thanks

I actually recently failed my first test, HOWEVER, the lady who was my examiner was so nice and calming! I was physically shaking and rather emotional and she just took it in her stride. She kept prompting me to relax and was a genuinely nice person. I cant remember her name (looks like C, Mimaster on my report?) But if you read these reviews then THANK YOU! The test centre itself is clean and has a friendly atmosphere. Would recommend :) And Good-luck for future test takers! :)

I had been to this test centre today. It's neat and clean. It has toilets and drinking water for guests. It also has ample parking space. My examiner was Keith. He was neither extra friendly, nor extra rude. He did his job properly and I did my job properly. I passed the test. People shouldn't rate bad just because they failed test!

Passed my car driving test a couple of years ago. The examiner Keith was polite, they aren't there to have a thorough conversation but Keith was a decent bloke, broke the ice half way through by asking me what I'd normally be doing on a typical day! He could probably see I was a tad nervous. Couple of minors but all in all decent, building was clean. No complaints

Yesterday I passed my HGV test!! I had the test centre manager called Joy and what a lovely lovely lady she was!! She was very nice, I really felt at ease as her instructions were very clear, she smiled from start to finish which made me feel confident. This was my second test centre as I had had unfair failures at Bredbury. I was ready to give up if I failed again. In the waiting reception I felt very nervous and apprehensive but that soon went thanks to Joy. I would highly recommend Atherton as they are very kind, friendly and very fair. I am now saving up to do my artic liscence and I will definitely be going back to Atherton with no second thoughts at all.. thank you very much Joy. Kind regards. Will xx

Atherton is a great place where to take the test. My examiner Joanne was absolutely kind and polite with me. I was really nervous, but she was so kind that made me feel calmer. The place is big and the customer service is very good.

Great test Centre

Can't only say good things about this test centre. I passed my Mod.1 and Mod.2 motorbike test first time. Both the examiners I think were fair, I got a minor on mod.1 for putting the foot down when parking the bike in the bay and 4 minors for my mod.2. Thanks Adrian and John.

Defo have your test at Atherton I just passed my driving test 1 minor fault only 7 lessons I had the examiner from Preston cant pronounce is name put he was brilliant to be honest nice chatty friendly
