I had Sadie and my instructor and she was fantastic, she really understood where I was struggling and fixed it so quickly, happy to say I passed with no minors and I give full credit to the XL driving school! They also had a great system for booking tests, managed to get one within a couple of weeks of asking, they also set up a mock test with was great - can’t thank them enough!

A. S.I did a semi-intensive course with XL as a follow up from learning to drive with my dad. The cars were clean and of a high standard! I started my course with Rob who was punctual and professional and taught me the techniques I needed to polish off my driving skills in time for my test.

B.After difficulty with my previous driving instructor from another company, XL took me on last minute and gave me as many lessons as I wished to be able to feel comfortable and confident in passing my test. Andy has been absolutely brilliant and just what my son needed in a instructor.

i. r.I had Andy as an instructor on a 20hr intensive course the summer before I left for uni in 2019, then 11 hours with Luke when I came back in December (non-intensive) at £25/hour, and they were brilliant. Both incredibly helpful, patient and understanding with streamlined tips for all the hazard, maneuvers and junction scenarios one could want. This was enough to prepare me for driving my parents’ car with Learner plates for the week and a half before my practical test, which I passed on the 8th of Dec 2020 with only 2 minor offenses

Jackie at XL listened to my situation and tried to organise a good test date for me, which I felt daunted to organise on my own because you need to book a test and also make sure an instructor and car are available at the same time. Jackie was expert at negotiating all of this on my behalf and very sincere and friendly. Colin was a really good driving instructor, he helps you feel capable and prepared for real world driving, not just tricks to pass a test. Mock tests with him where brilliant experience to help me in passing my test (on third attempt). Thank you very much to XL. I recommend them.
M. D.I had Andy as my driving instructor and can not recommend him and his company enough. He was always on time to every lesson we had and managed to get me a pass first time! Only a few weeks ago we had a crash (not our fault) and Andy reassured me so much that I was able to go and pass my test today in a completely different car as to what I had been learning in. Cannot fault anything - you even get given a mock test in which another instructor goes with you which is so helpful with getting you used to the real thing. Cannot thank Andy enough and would recommend using him as your driving instructor!
I. B.I had Luke Gill as my instructor and he made the whole experience extremely enjoyable! When I started I had zero experience and was very scared to be on a road, but he made me so comfortable and believe I can do this! Not only he is fantastic at what he does but he is very calm, reassuring and friendly. He gave me the best advise and little tips for the future. I couldn't be happier i chose XL driving and Luke was my instructor, I will tell all my friends to go with XL and especially Luke!
E. W.XL are by far the best driving company I have been with. They are very professional, punctual and friendly. Even though I had previous driving experience I have always been nervous about taking my practical test. Thanks to the help of Jon and Jacqi they helped me go from ok to test ready in just over a week and they went above and beyond to make sure I passed as soon as possible. I honestly cannot recommend this company enough wether your a first time driver or you just need some last minute lessons to build your confidence. J. V. C.What an awesome driving school XL Driving Tuition is! They have made me feel at ease from the first time Jacq answered my call to the time I passed my driving test the first time. I took an intensive course with Steve. He was very welcoming and patient with me. The way the feedback on my driving was given made me motivated and do better. XL was fourth on my call list when I was looking for a driving school. The first three did not yield positive responses, considering they are the top 3 on google searches. Don’t waste your time like I did. Book XL, I highly recommend them.
V. B.I had an intense course which was 30 hrs in one week, this was 5.5 hours a day with a little left over if I needed to come back. However I passed first time thanks to an amazing instructor! I booked the course quite late in advance but they managed to fit me in for the dates I had off. All together really good instructors and company. 10/10 would recommend!

D. W.I booked an intense driving course with these guys, and all I can say is, amazing. I had Jon and he was great. Firm but fair, he didn't sugar coat where I went wrong but didn't tell me off either. I was going to book a 40 hour course, but after an assessment with Jon he advised 27, and I passed first time. Saving me nearly £500. I was nervous that I would never be able to drive manual cars, but I now can thanks to these guys. I would 100% recommend them. Thank you again.

They were very reassuring through Covid especially surrounding the uncertainty with my test date. This resulting in me passing my test first time round. I can't thank them enough. D. B.When I phoned up to book the lessons, I spoke to Jacq, and explained that because I worked shifts I was unable to commit to the same times each week. She was very helpful and explained that they could fit my driving lessons around my shift times and days off.
Rob, my instructor, was great throughout each lesson. He explained each manoeuvre thoroughly and gave me plenty of practice driving time in the lessons. He gave me lots of advice throughout, including small minor things that I could correct which would make it easier to pass the test.
Even though I had the odd wobbly lesson here and there, Rob was patient enough to stick with me. He also spotted that most of my problems were confidence issues, and that I did actually have the ability to drive. With his help, I was eventually able to build up my confidence and master driving.
I had a mock test with Jacq, who took me through the test procedure and explained what would happen on the real test. After a few weeks more practice with Rob, I took my practical test yesterday, and passed with one minor fault on my first attempt.
A great company, locally based and I was supported by them throughout the process. Would thoroughly recommend.
D.So i just passed my Driving test first time with XL Driving Tuition on the 19th of December 2019. I passed my theory test on the 3rd of December 1st time, phone XL Driving Tuition the next day, they then got me a driving lessons the following Monday. I said I wanted to get my driving test asap. The next day after my first lesson they phone up saying they can book my driving test for the 19th of December am i good with that?, and of course i said yes. XL Driving Tuition then said i would need about 10 hours of driving lessons as the 1st lesson they kinda knew what my driving was like and what i needed etc.. So XL Driving Tuition are very, very good with short notice and of booking driving tests etc.. The driving instructor i had from XL Driving Tuition was Rob. He was a good instructor for the most part and this is why I'm only giving them 4 star's out of 5. If it was not for what I'm now going to write they would of got 5 star's if not more. My instructor Rob when i did thing's wrong some time's we would pull up and he would go over what i did wrong. (that's all good don't get me wrong I'm fine with that) but he would go on and tell me what was wrong and at many times it was more like he was giving me a lecture and sometimes this could go on for 15-20 mins while we were just pulled up. Maybe it was for my own sake and he was going hard at me as he knew i could do better, as i did pass my driving test because of him if you look at it that way. And the one other thing with Rob that i found to be very rude was that most of the time he would wear sunglasses (i could get it if it was summer time) but it was winter time. Maybe I'm old school when it comes to things like that. The only day he did not wear sunglasses was the day of my driving test. So they are the only bad thing's i can say about XL Driving Tuition other than that they are a very, very good learning to drive school for driving lessons etc.. Their price's for lessons and to book your test are very good. I went with pay as you go. I've already recommended them to a friend and i think he's gone with them but I'm not 100% with that. I know my review is a bit late but with Xmas and new year I've had a lot on but here is my review XL Driving Tuition. You guy's give me the best Christmas present i could ever want, passing my driving test so thank you very, very much XL Driving Tuition and happy new year to you all. Thanks Lee.

J. R.I recently learnt to drive with XL Driving Tuition and had a faultless experience. I'm almost 27, my first time driving a car was on Wednesday 3rd January 2018 and within 4 weeks, I had passed my practical driving test; first time with 4 minors. My instructor was John and the car I learned in was a 1.2 litre Renault Clio. I had 7.5 hours of lessons (5 x 1.5 hours) prior to an intensive week in which I had 25 hours of lessons. My practical test was on the Monday after my intensive week which allowed me to take a (much needed) break in between. The intensive week was very challenging and will not be for everyone. Nevertheless I found it enjoyable for the most part. John is an experienced instructor who emphasised the seriousness of good driving when necessary but who was also very patient and friendly. I would recommend XL Driving Tuition to all others; on the proviso that it is taken seriously and that the challenge of learning to drive is not underestimated. Thank you very much John, Jacq and the rest of the XL team!
