After being told categorically that my 8month old battery on my Jeep Renegade was fine by the garage who fitted, the repeated jump starts must be down to faulty alternator. I took it to ES, spoke to Brian and instantly felt at ease that he knew his subject inside out. I left the car with him for 2 hrs whilst he ran a series of tests. The end result was a very detailed written report stating the battery was indeed at fault, not the alternator The cost to do this was very reasonable and I now have something to wave at my original fitter, and I get my battery replaced under warranty tomorrow. ES Alternators are thorough, knowledgeable, friendly and communicative and I'd have no hesitation in recommending or using again. Thank you Brian and team.

I was pointed in the direction of ES Alternators by a local garage as my car had several faults showing and they couldn’t figure out what it was. I had a long term electrical problem causing battery drain which meant disconnecting the battery if the car was not being used for more than a couple of days. Two very good garages could not trace it but after a recommendation from a friend I tried ES Alternators and they traced to one wire in the loom and repaired it. Phoned ES Alternators as I thought my van wasn't charging. I was told to bring it in and Brian was very patient and extremely helpful. He demonstrated that the van was fine and the issue may be with how I got the error readings. Following the assurance the van was okay, I found the issue with a loose earth on the B2B charger / leisure battery / chassis connection, I thought the alternator / regulator had packed in, as everything looked okay and powered up in the back. I will certainly be using ES Alternators again in the future and with a French van, I will be a regular.

Have had an issue with the electrics for my truck for some time and found that there may have been an alternator fault. Took the alternator to Brian at ES Alternators tested and checked in 20 minutes and a new alternator built from scratch (as parts not available for mine). Ready for collection within 48 hours, fabulous old style service from people that genuinely know what they are doing. My Ford F-150 Harley Davidson is a specialist American import and it was dealt with as if it was a standard uk product. Bikes, Cars, Boats it makes no difference call them

Took my car to the garage which I frequently use. Was pleasing to know that E.SAlternators had a good reputation with them as I needed a replacement starter. My new starter was delivered straight to my mechanic and no fuss. Paid a very good price considering the price of a genuine part from the dealer. The telephone service was brilliant and the times I phoned would've upset most people but they showed me so much patience. My starter was in the same day and back on the road. Noisy at first but checking online found that it was a normal noise for replacement starter and would soon pass. Glad to report car starts very softly now...like it should. Happy with their service overall and would recommend them and most definately use them again. Please like my review if it has helped you.

I can't recommend Brian and his colleagues at E.S. Alternators highly enough. They really care about doing a good job and are courteous too; keeping the customer in the loop about their car. Price-wise, they offer very good value for money. And Brian gives me tinned mackerel. What's not to like?

took an alternator from an unusual vehicle up to these guys, they tested it and confirmed it wasn't charging, opened it up and told me while i waited what the problem was. after i told them i traveled a fair distance they found a way around getting parts there and then and had it sorted that afternoon to save me a journey back to collect. all for a very reasonable price. lovely folk that fill you with confidence the work has been carried out properly. highly recommend!

Recommended these guys to my mate, Andy P. He was super happy with the service regarding ECU unit and now EGR more recently also. They managed to repair the ECU rather than having to buy a new one which would have been really expensive! Great service and very trust worthy. Fantastic experience with these guys. Had a problem with my Ford Mondeo. Mobile auto electrician advised it was the smart alternator and I needed a new one. He suggested buying a second hand one off of eBay etc. Phoned these guys to arrange it and they said they would check the car over before recommending it needed a new alternator. Had a 5-10 minutes discussion on the phone about car symptoms and problems. Turned out it was a faulty boot lock that was causing the power to drain the battery and not start. The mobile auto electrician said he was 200% sure it was the Alternator. They ran diagnostics changed the lock and reassured me that would fix the problem no new alternator needed. The pressing issue was i called on the Monday with a car that would have starting and electrical problems and I was due to fly from Manchester for a weeks holiday with my family. They had the car fixed by the Wednesday for me ready to pick up. No problems with electrics or car starting since. The mobile auto electrician was not affiliated with this company, completely separate and a waste or time. Should have went here first but car wouldn’t start so needed a mobile one. Overall a great experience!! 100% recommend.

Excellent Customer Service by friendly , efficient staff. Brian , the Worksop manager , is always extremely helpful and accommodating, usually able to have a look right there and then and explain what's causing the problem. Might have to return the car for any necessary repairs . I Drove in this morning with a very noisy fan going off under the bonnet and they had a look at it right away. You can be assured of an honest evaluation and a fair price for repairs . Was referred here to ES Alternators after an oil leak missed / overlooked by another local garage caused serious damage to the car. Yet another local garage quoted £1,000 to repair this damage. I returned to the first garage who had passed the car through its MOT - with the oil leak - and had had the vehicle in their workshop on at least 6 occasions to complain. Didn't get much help at the garage so wrote to their head office. They got in touch and booked the car into ES alternators who assessed the damage and repaired it minus the £1,000 repair bill. (The first garage were picking up the tab by way of a goodwill gesture to compensate for their negligence so I don't know what it cost but believe it was a vastly reduced). So would thoroughly recommend ES Alternators .

I arrived with no air con which had been diagnosed by an air con specialist as an electrical problem. When I explained I was driving to France on holiday in 3 days they took the car right away. A couple of other people had looked at the two separate faults (finding and replacing the correct alternator and fixing an engine rev. problem) and couldn't help. On both occasions E.S. Alternators fixed the problem with minimum fuss. Brian on the desk and phone, gives the customer a belief that both he and the other guys in the garage know what they are doing, and believe me that is not always the case. Brilliant effort from all the guys involved. Booked in over the phone... Arrived on time and taken in - a call within the hour to update on the matter at hand and a breakdown of what is involved... A call later to give an update... A final call to say what was involved and to breakdown the bill. Arrived to a still photo and a description of the work involved and the labour charge. OUTCOME The electronic problem was fixed- with a guarantee. 1st class work(not cheap) but, do you know what, you pay extra for reassurance. Get your ass along- they were brilliant

These guys are not your ordinary auto electricians, they are really experienced and knowledgable engineers and seem to have a kind of intuitive understanding of what's going on deep in the wiring under the bonnet! They are the only people I trust with my van whenever something electrical or complicated needs fixed. They have always taken an interest and gone out of their way to fix the problem even when it is very tricky and obscure. They are also amazingly good value and can make a good repair where other places would tell you an expensive replacement was the only option. Very highly recommended by me!!

Had engine management light on and car felt it was losing a bit of power. The garage ran a diagnostic check. I needed a new engine coil. It was fitted later that day. Problem solved. Great service , issue was fully explained to me in language I could understand . Reasonable price. Would highly recommend and would go there again . I first used E.S Alternators four years ago to repair the alternator on my E Class Mercedes. It turned out to be a bigger job than I thought. They had to remove the front of the car to gain access to the alternator, who would have thought, but no problem for the boys at E.S Alternators. Then recently I had an ABS problem that my local garage couldn't fix, so took the car to E.S who repaired a break in the wiring loom. Always a pleasure dealing with REAL experts. Initially it was thought to be the CDI that needed repairing or replacing, but no, the distributor was found by ES to be at fault, and they fixed it for a fraction of my worst fears. I am in the process of restoring a 1929 classic motor yacht built in Scotland in 1929 and listed on the National Ship Register. The battery charging system was not working and consisted of what I thought to be two obsolete alternator/regulators. However on the recommendation of my local garage I was advised to take them to E.S.Alternators. Not only did they source two identical new regulators without any obvious identification but they repaired one alternator and built another one to exactly the same specification, all while I waited for them in Glasgow to save carriage back to Mull. Totally professional service at very reasonable cost, cannot recommend them highly enough.

My Honda CRV had a fault with the airbag system. Last year Honda charged me a small fortune to tell me it was a faulty sensor underneath the passenger seat. They then wanted a second small fortune to fix it but since it managed to pass its MOT despite the warning light, I didn't take them up on their offer to relieve me of my hard earned cash. This year however, the MOT rules had changed and the warning light resulted in an epic fail. The guys at Kwik Fit recommended E.S. Alternators, a local, friendly bunch of thoroughly nice chaps. They looked at the car the same day and diagnosed the fault (NOT the same sensor as Honda told me was faulty). The new sensor had to come from Belgium but, even so, they had the car fixed within a couple of days and even took it back round to Kwik Fit to get its MOT. They took pictures of the work they'd done on the car and handed me back the faulty sensor. Unlike the Honda dealership, they didn't want to charge me the entire GDP of a developing nation and I was delighted with the entire service. If you need any electrical work done on your vehicle I cannot recommend these guys more highly.

My Vauhhall astra ESP light came on giving an C0131 - Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction error. After reading various forums and a few horror storys about a Vauxhall charging up to £1500 to repair I took it in to E.S Altenators. Brian and the guys quickly diagnosed the fault with the ABS unit and had a brand new unit on the shelf and fitted for a third of the Vauxhaull cost. Fast friendly and efficient service. Would use again.

Have used E S Alternators a few times now while refurbishing parts for my old Alfa Sprint. This time was more pressing, as my daily car alternator started playing up with the recent cold weather. Brian accommodated me at short notice just before Christmas, during a busy time (the cold snap seemed to cause numerous cars to go haywire). Anyway long story short, got me fixed up, kept me well informed and advised. I cant fault anything really. My late dad said same when he had to use them. Wouldn't hesitate in recommending and using again.
