James Andrews found me the perfect company to assign me to, which was Golden Lane Housing. From the outset, I was made to feel very welcome there and I felt that because I slotted in very quickly, it felt that I'd been there for a long time. I thoroughly enjoyed my time and the experience working for Golden Lane - it was sad that I had to go but I really felt the nee to secure myself in a job on a permanent basis. Prior to sending my details to GCS I was given comprehensive information about the company and the role. I was advised of the interview details when I was shortlisted for interview. During the interview process I had not completed the commentary on the management report that was provided. I completed it after the interview and Jon Pearson kindly forwarded it to GCS. I have been working on the Administration side of the company for three years now and have felt fully supported the whole time. Any time of the day if you have any queries there is always a Manager on hand to support and guide you. Monthly appraisals are always a great opportunity to voice if you have any ideas or concerns and your line manager is always happy to listen and help straight away. Along with appraisals we also have a suggestions inbox which comes in handy for managers to discuss new ideas in their meetings. The company have also helped me in further training and development. This year I am starting my Level 3 NVQ in Business Administration which the company have not only invested in for me but are also fully supporting me during the process. Feedback is always taken on board, for instance my colleague and I work on an alternate shift pattern that was implemented following a suggestion to management. This way of working benefits the company and our team, whilst also giving my colleague and me flexibility outside of work. At the end of every month we all partake in staff nights out called "month ends", these are great for getting to know each other outside of the office environment and a chance to unwind at the end of the month and celebrate the months successes. Along with regular month ends we also have quarterly company month ends where all of the company gets together (Birmingham, Leicester and London office), again this is a great opportunity to socialise with staff in the other offices. Some of the Birmingham office equipment is a bit outdated but there is going to be refurb soon
