Called in today to check this place out and love it!! It's such a cool, pretty space with all the awesome plants and lights :) we also met the lovely gentleman (Terry I think his name was) who showed us around his mushrooms and how they are grown and it was very interesting! There are greats tunes coming from the on site record store too ;) We had two baps as a quick snack and they were lovely as well, they do nice looking pies and sausage rolls and vegan food! Can't wait to come back for the events they are planning on having and just to hang in the great space! Great to see this in East Belfast really bringing something different to the table! :)

Really cool space, so much potential and excited to see what events will be coming up. Great food at a price I would expect from self employed food vendors (not sure why others are expecting to pay Greggs prices for freshly made food?!) . Kid and dog friendly and felt like a really safe space with toilets and baby changing facilities. Will definitely be back :)

This has all the ingredients of becoming Belfast’s answer to Spitafields. Bringing a sense of alternative culture to East Belfast. Obviously it’s success will depend on offering a good variety of stall holders and diverse food traders. This is hipster central and dog friendly. Maintaining a sense of Cool will be essential going forward .

Great craft Market with resident DJ, good food, a wide range of craft and vintage stalls and a massive range of vinyl for sale. You can also get a beer etc

went to a DJ night. Great setup, easy to get to a bar or toilet. good crowd - slightly older than typical rave.

Visited at lunch time on a Saturday. Very chill environment. Beautiful plant shop with very helpful staff. Absolutely delicious bagels (I'd recommend the Italiano). And a really cool record shop. Lovely place to catch up with friends. 🙂

The venue is great, very chilled, nothing fancy but that's what's good about it, there is a very good positive atmosphere Staff is friendly however when we arrived they were too busy to notice we were here and had to wait even though we were the only people looking to order. But that's ok! The only negative point of my experience is that the cappuccino didn't taste right, couldn't put my finger on it. I didn't say anything as I don't like being a Karen

Fantastic space with beautiful local businesses, Hearty Growers, Velo Cheese and a beautiful plant shop. Not to forget an excellent record shop and freshly made coffee and bagels!

Excellent event venue, lovely staff who are always happy to help. Reasonable prices for everything on there and good options for vegans and non vegans alike. The stores such as Sound Advice and Green East offer good opportunities to support local businesses. Melter food van also does some of the best cheese toasties.

I have only became aware of Banana Block in the last week which leads me to ask why? Most people I guess wouldn't know that it's even there. It's a real shame as it's a new venue which is so badly needed in East Belfast especially the Newtownards Road area. It's located in the Portview Trade Centre and consists of a central entertainment area flanked by various food outlets and vinyl record store. The main area hosts various public events for all ages. I would suggest some signage and awareness of this great place.

born and raised in east belfast and in no doubt that this place has improved that area especially for art and culture however i did find it to be quite pretentious with middle class hipsters i even heard one joking outside talking about taking over the working class shops apart from that i would give it five stars also the record shop is great if you're into vinyl/djing good collection of electronic i just wish we had it here years ago.
