Honestly a 10/10 experience, We visited here twice in two weeks because it was just such a great atmosphere. They talk you through how to throw the axes safely but while also having fun. We had someone called Kit I believe and Jake the week before, he was informative and hilarious. Everyone was made to feel welcome no matter how good you are. We will definitely be returning here!

Had a great experience at Whistlepunks Bristol yesterday. Throwing axes was always going to be fun but the instructor Kit (told you I’d leave a review!) was loads of fun and a great teacher. The rest of the staff were great too, the beer is good and it’s a fun atmosphere! Highly recommend.

What fun night I had here. Great 60 mins experience, would do it again. Jay was amazing, very helpful and funny. They seem to clean up the place after every session pretty well. Bar area seem to look nice, we only had beer but good selection of booze. Great location too.

Had an amazing time throwing axes on a Sunday afternoon! Was a totally new experience and one we never thought we would get the chance to do! Had an amazing time! Me and a friend went and we both agreed it was an amazing experience! It's a lot more fun and difficult than we expected. It was very satisfying when you'd manage to land a decent throw. Our instructor Harvey was a great guy too. He taught us all how to throw properly and helped us improve when we were doing something wrong. He even taught us some trickshots which were a lot of fun. When I go back again I expect to learn even more!

My wife and I went here for my birthday and it was a great experience. Jake was our instructor and he was a lot of fun. He kept coming up with new rounds for the mini-tournament we were playing. Our throwing definitely improved with his tips and tweaks. We were also lucky enough to end up with a lane to ourself, but I think even if we'd been mixed in with another group it would have still be very good fun. Highly recommended, and a shout out for Jake for making it such a great evening.

Was a super fun experience the trainer we had was call Jay and he had just the right amount of enthusiasm, that made the experience so much more enjoyable. He was super helpful and managed to get us all hitting the target in no time! The venue itself could do with a phone number for any issues, saying this I messaged them on Facebook as I had an issue with my arrival time and they where quick to respond and help. Over all would 10/10 do this again!!

We loved it here and will be going back!! The instrctor was amazing and very funny. We were shocked that we could actually get the axes in the targets as none of us were particularly athletic but that goes to show how great the instructors are!! Be warned you need to come up with names for each other and if you are anything like my group that was the hardest part!

Great venue and a great event. The staff were amazing and overall we had a great time. 15 drink lads and the team managed it well. A couple of negative point wold be 1. The beer choices and larger choices aren’t the best. I can see what they are trying to do but they could do with some more main stream options. 2. The female manager was very power crazy. 2 lads in our group in her opinion over stepped the line… fair enough pull them and have a word. Lecturing a whole group of professional men who are Farthers to daughter themselves because of 2 was not the way to handle it. She let her team down if you ask me. Bit she got her ego fix so I’m sure she is happy with herself. Would definitely visit again

A great evening, friendly and helpful staff. Our instructor, Harvey, did a great job of keeping use safe from the flying lumps of sharp metal, helping us improve our technique to throw the axes and give us encouragement when the axes weren't doing what we wanted them to (everyone was able to get their axe in the target and score points) It started with a practice session trying both single and double handed axe throwing to see which your better at, and then on to a competition which was usually about who could get the axe to stay in the target with out it bouncing off (if someone was suspected of been good they are encouraged to go for the harder targets which had a good chance of scoring nothing if you miss the very small circle). Covid wise, lots of hand sanitiser, room to keep apart from the other guests, you're allocated an axe for the session, and if your lucky enough to have a go at double axe throwing, the extra axe was wiped down before you use it.

Spontaneous Saturday out. Virgin Axe thrower. Wonderful place for all occasions. Beckett Created a show and it delivered. Really nice place where you can feel relaxed smashing axes into wood and grabbing a nice bite to eat with a refreshing drink. All staff as enthusiastic as the next which draws you in more. A great experience, all should try!

Went there just this weekend and had the most amazing time. Our instructor Teddy was fantastic and kept encouraging me when I was throwing the axe everywhere but the target. Towards the end of our time I became sooo good I kept getting bulls eye. Great customer service, energy and overall fun activity. Special shout out to Teddy!!!

Visited as part of a stag do and would definitely like to do it again. The actual axe throwing lasted about 75 minutes with our group of 18 split into 2 teams with a variety of practice throws before the competitions started. You get plenty of throws too which was awesome. Hats off the instructors (Sam and Big Lou i think) who were spot on throughout. Only criticism was drink prices are pretty steep for 330ml cans. Would recommend the place though overall.

Great venue, we had an excellent time. Really good fun, friendly staff and the pizzas looked lovely although we didn't have one. Quite noisy so sometimes difficult to hear your 'guide' but would definitely go again now I've got a feel for it.

Pros: You get to throw axes. Loads of nice hipster beer in colourful cans. Fresh pizza. Staff who seem to really enjoy what they do and make it as immersive as possible. Cons: They don't take cash. You have to share your experience with several other groups; we went as a group of 5 and we were with at least six other people over two axe throwing lanes. If you're not very good you won't get as many goes. It's very strictly moderated for safety reasons so only two people can participate at one time which is good but it means lots of waiting around. Tip: book in advance. We rocked up on a Wednesday 10 mins after it opened and it was packed.

Good - Very good pizza - Nice staff - Original activity to do To improve - If you're not very good, like it was my case, you don't get as many chances as others. I also felt it a bit rushed. - That comment at the end when taking the group picture: "cry like a little girl". If you want to be inclusive, don't perpetuate stereotypes and say "like a baby" or "like a little kid" instead. That made me creep.

A group of us went midweek in Bristol and overall had a excellent time. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and give a great deal of energy. I liked the fact that the staff run the event for you and kept the scores for you. Our instructor was full of energy and humour and kept it all fun. Although we got two free drinks as part of the £27 price per person, I think over the course of an hour and half, we got a total of just 20 throws, 5 of them were the warm up set. If you made it to the final, you got an extra 5 throws. So, with 8 of us, and half that being a different group of people, there is a fair amount of waiting for your turn with only a semblance of interest in watching people you have never met throw. It was a fun evening though and I would do it again, but I would have liked a few more throws of the axe for the money we paid.

Had an absolutely brilliant time! Accessibility: they have ramps all the way in and the place is completely accessible including accessible toilets. Bar is a bit high but they do have table service. The master of ceremonies will help picking up your axe. Host: Melanie was our mistress of ceremonies (I am assuming they have a different term for this but I couldn't hear over the music) she did an amazing job and taught us all how to splinter the boards into shape! She was incredibly fun and lovely. Venue: very covid safe they disinfect everything between groups. It does have a 90's Laser quest vibe, which you are going to love or hate, personally I felt a bit nostalgic about it. Suggestions on improvements: get some more comfortable chairs, turn the music down a notch, maybe some games to play in between (air hockey, pool) and give the place more of a cool hangout vibe and this would be the kind of place I would always come back to.
