I attended a wedding on Saturday and I was so impressed. A beautiful venue and fantastic staff. I am also gluten intolerant and the meal was made gluten free for me and then on the evening when the buffet came out I was given a separate plate with food that had been prepared separately from the main buffet. I was so impressed with the attention to detail and the effort that went in. I wasn't even a family member to the bride or groom just a friend. A wonderful experience.

Absolutely lovely food for my friends. They just need to be a little more creative for vegetarian and vegan customers but all in all it was fabulous.

Great venue, has been renovated so looks nice. I ordered a salad, cajun chicken, it was really dry so asked for some mayo, just checked the menu and realised it was missing the sour cream dressing, no wonder it was dry. Service was good too so it's a shame.

Took a group booking on short notice and really looked after us the whole evening. Even brought out a slice of cake and sang happy birthday for my Dad. Will definitely be back, thank you again!

Come here once in a month for some good old grub, food is always amazing. You get big portions for the price you pay! Can be really busy so food can take a little longer then a chain pub but the food here is much better. Plus they have the best chips :) small selection of beers on tap but enough to cover :) can not fault this place.

My wife & I have just completed 3 visits in less than a week, Tuesday lunchtime, Saturday lunchtime and Sunday evening, a total of 17 courses between us. The food was mostly excellent, bar the southern fried chicken goujons on the Tuesday lunchtime which were a bit overcooked (although very good on the Sunday evening) and a portion of chips on the Tuesday lunchtime that was both cold & hard, suggesting it was the end of a batch that had been standing awhile. At least the Tuesday lunchtime food came with 50% discount, so thank you for that. One sirloin steak ordered medium by my wife on the Sunday evening was rather more rare than she would have liked, and was more like my sirloin steak ordered medium rare on the same evening, which was both tender and very tasty. Good scampi and super steak & ale pie, but the sausages weren't up to much, although their accompaniments were. Great peas, petit pois actually, and fresh vegetables not overcooked. The standout dessert was the cornflake tart which was divine, I had it twice, and it didn't matter to me that it was served with traditional custard rather than the pink custard on the menu. Disappointing that some desserts seemed to be in short supply. The staff were all good, but special mention must go to the lovely Beth, the young lady with the pigtails and most engaging smile, who was very pleasant indeed. Music a little too loud for us, but you're never going to satisfy everyone on that, both on volume & content.

Golf Course in excellent condition for the time of year green keeping staff need commending. On a minus we had Bacon Sandwich and Coffee on arrival, the Bacon was burnt what there was of it and Coffee Cold so unfortunately spoiled to full experience. There was 16 happy golfers who will return but unfortunately just for the Golf.

Had my daughters Baby shower here on the weekend the guy who was the manager was absolutely brilliant could not do enough was so helpful the food was amazing and my daughter who is the mum to be is vegan they bought out her a lovely selection of vegan foods cream tea of he own and she said was delicious the cream tea we had was beautiful quality food and the quiche and the scones was really lovely we highly highly recommend and if l was having another event would definitely book here again every one he came really enjoyed it thank you Thornhurst manor you are 🤩 brilliant 🤩

Been today for afternoon tea. The pros are it's a beautiful place. The cakes are lovely. The cons.....I was told the wrong information on the telephone when I booked it. A member of staff advised we had a selection of sandwiches to choose from, this wasn't correct, we had no choice .Some staff were rude and some not accommodating. Some gave awful stares. Had to ask for tea as no teapot. This was advertised as tea for mother's day with a free gift, however none of us received that. Didn't appreciate pay at the door without even testing the food.All in all very disappointing 👎

this is first time we have been on a sunday. they gave us several options i had garlic mushroom starter (sorry missed starter pics) they were nice n crispy batter and garlicy inside not over cooked or mushy. others had prawn salad. they had a decent amount of prawns in there they enjoyed. mains we all picked the lamb option. i must say its nice change that they didnt stick lots of peas on to fill plate up. they had various veg and roast plus mashed potatoes. i must say i hate when roasties aren't cooked enough but they were really nice n golden. the lamb was nice n tender. desserts were really nice too. it was hot day so as we walked in with my guide dog they changed our table we had booked to another one that they thought would be better for him to get a nice breeze. they also brought him out a large bowl/bucket of water and asked if there was anything else he needed. they even put us on a larger table than we needed so he had more space for him. so he sprawled out in the spare space happily. i would like to thank the staff for being so nice about having him there

Had a small wedding at thornhust manor 29th January and it was excellent Jason and his team was excellent they could not have done anything better We had the small restaurant to the side and it was set up beautiful. The meal was an excellent standard and it well received. I definitely would recommend this place for a wedding reception and any other functions Once again excellent service Thanks Dave & Emma Frost

Took my 93yr old mum here for her birthday! Absolutely brilliant value for money! Food really nice etc the only thing that let it down was that I had stated numerous times it was mymums birthday even before we ordered desert. I would have thought that they could have put a candle on it or something to mark the occasion for her. Thats what's normally done where we live. Our waitress seemed disinterested .generally a nice place to eat drink and relax

My husband and I have been going to Thornhurst Manor for Sunday lunch now for years. If you want a good home cooked, delicious meal this is the place to go. The weekday menu is also excellent, and don't forget to look at the specials menu, really good value and sweet included in the price. The staff are excellent and very friendly. We cannot wait to go back for Sunday lunch when this craziness is all over.

Lovely pub,friendly helpful staff,lovely big plated meals. Fantastic variety on menu,my personal favourites are the 'sizzle' dishes and the streak pie is one of the best I've tasted. The bar drinks are cheap and the pub has a nice atmosphere. Thornhurst is set in lovely grounds and it's a delight to sit outside in the summer. Function rooms are available and upstairs there's a good sized room available for weddings christening and parties. And on a plus side the toilets are spotlessly clean!

Booked Sunday lunch in the dinning room for nine of us from the moment we arrived the service was excellent the waitress was very polite and friendly nothing to much trouble, the food was very nice i had roast beef the portions were very generous the meat melted in your mouth, everyone enjoyed their meal (three courses)I can highly recommend a Sunday lunch here definitely be back

An excellent friendly, value for money place to eat or hold your celebration event. My families favourite Saturday dinner place to visit. Lovely garden views if you want to eat outside or a warm friendly atmosphere if you dine inside. Beautiful sunday lunch or eat from a variety of meals from the main menu. Something for eveyone and nothing is too much trouble for the staff.

Fantastic Party Venue We held a 50th Golden Wedding Anniversary party here in the downstairs function room. It was just perfect! Buffet food was very nice and reasonably priced. Big thankyou to Elle for helping us to get all the details just right. All communication during planning the event was very prompt and professional. The room looked fantastic with all the nice white tableclothes and chair covers and the gorgeous sparkly curtain at the top end of the room. There is a great little bar in the corner and a lovely outdoor space that is lit up at night with twinkly lights and there is lots of space for children to play in a big green open space that is fully enclosed. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough. Thanks for making it a really special memorable event for our family.

First visit today, one of the lads took us down as he's played there before and its a cracking place. good prices, very well kept course, very freindly welcoming staff and very cold beer on tap after you finish the 18th! Spot on, will definatly be coming back and bring a few more with us
