I would give 10 stars if I could. Louize was fantastic all the way from our planning stages, until our wedding day! She made us feel comfortable, relaxed and that was nothing was ever a problem. Louize is true professional at her job no stone was left unturned, she is on-it!!!! All our guest were raving about the food, so a massive thank you to the chef for providing everyone with a mouth watering amazing meal!! The staff were all pleasant & friendly with speedy service at the bar. I would definitely book another event here. Our customer journey was exceptional.

I was here for my nephew's wedding and was absolutely fantastic. Very nice atmosphere and decor is first class. Made to feel very welcome, and staff were helpful and friendly. The full day was done to a very high standard, from service to the food (which was exceptional). I would recommend this venue to anybody. Hope to be back soon at some point in the future.

Louize and the whole team are outstanding. From the first email, tour of the venue, open days to our wedding, everything was seamless. Citation is a spectacular building and has the most beautifully enchanting interior with cherry blossom trees, fairy light staircase and draped windows. All the extras were executed perfectly, the food was glorious and drinks flowed the whole day and night. Everything was perfect thanks to Louize and her wonderful team, the day ran like a dream and they co-ordinated all the suppliers effortlessly. The whole day was pure love and magic, thank you again so much from the bottom of our full wee hearts!!!

Weddings only here. Good venue, upstairs for the meal, downstairs is a large L shaped bar. Adequate seating, with a quieter end away from dance floor and band. Well organised, good staff. Central location, difficult street parking, but we found spaces easily in North Portland Street and streets parallel to it the other side of Gearge Street. 5 mins walk to Citation. Can recommend.

Went in for mothers day lunch, the service from one girl I didn't catch her name unfortunately was really good. The rest of the staff let it down for her though, we asked for thr bill and had to wait over 10 minutes for this and then when it came it wasnt the correct amount so another wait to get this fixed. The food was okay, nothing special and my Yorkshire pudding was burnt which wasnt great. My gran ordered ice cream to be brought sorbet and when she sent it back we were told they had no ice cream left, this was before 4pm. The place is lovely and with better food and service it could be a really good afternoon out!

Came here on a Sunday at midday. The place is big and beautiful. I had no problem to sit down and I didn't even have to wait. Ordered pork belli and it was Fantastic. The mustardy mash potato was delicious and the meet very tender and tasty. Desert and coffee were good as well. The service was fast and nice. I'll come back.

Bought an Itison deal (2 courses and a bottle of vino for £25) for this restaurant and man was it worth every penny!!! On a Sunday afternoon the vibe was cool, the starters were good and the main courses were the best I've tasted in a long while. The beef was cooked to perfection and the roast potatoes were simply perfect. The only reason I've given 4 stars is because the size of portions were quite small as I could have eaten everything twice, but I'll take quality over quantity every time.......

The old sheriff building is a beautiful space. We went after a birthday event with friends. It wasn't too crowded, which was a positive. The clientele was 'mature' and looked like they were out on dates -- they weren't shy with the PDA. It seemed like a place to be seen. However, it wasn't for me. The beer on draft was generic. The cocktails were OK, lots of candy sweet fruit drinks -- passion fruit was popular, one came flaming. Not a place I'd rush back.

My wife and I stumbled upon Citation whilst out viewing other wedding venues, we parked outside and heard what sounded like an amazing event inside so decided to enquire. Right from our first enquiry Louize was amazing. Very helpful and accommodating but also gave great advice and helpful tips on how to arrange our day. During our wedding day Louize was on hand to coordinate the suppliers but at the same time was very discrete but I knew if we needed anything she was around to help. All the staff in the venue were fantastic and very attentive to all the guests. We had someone arrive late and within seconds of them arriving and without warning they were met by a member of staff who welcomed them and gave them a drink. As well as this Louize has a list of suppliers who are also very accommodating and helpful which just makes the planning so much more seamless and easy. This was our second attempt at organising and planning our wedding, the first date in Ireland was cancelled due to covid, we both agree this time was a lot easier and stress free thanks to Louize. I couldn't recommend Louize, her team and the venue enough.

The staff were super, polite and very helpful. The food choice was very good. Whilst the food tasted great , one of our party had pasta meatballs and found this to be quite dry. The price was excellent. We had a special menu deal 29.95 for 2 courses for 2 people with a bottle of house wine. The ambience in the venue was wonderful. Now full disclosure, we were never supposed to get married in Citation. We had originally booked our reception for 29 but …well Covid. However, from how well we were treated by Louize and all the staff at Citation, I would (and do) suggest to every person organising a large event – use Citation. The food was amazing, the Staff were attentive and friendly, the décor is beautiful, and frankly it’s a Glasgow wedding and you never waited more than 3 minutes to get served for a drink. Even before and after our day, the staff were fantastic for letting us in to do the logistics that comes with a day like that – pick ups, drop offs, money handling, changes. Fantastic venue!

I wasn't expecting such a fancy place, in my t-shirt and jeans I was severely underdressed. However, they were nice enough and allowed me to eat with no comment on my attire. The food was pretty good, I got a burger that was good with some okay fries. The Caesar salad was good and the sticky toffee pudding was very good. There was not a vast drink selection, some various wines, but only a single beer, a mediocre lager. All in all, not too bad but expensive for that status.

Just had out wedding in Citation. I cannot put into words what a fantastic day we had. Such a beautiful venue and everyone was raving about it. The food is fantastic. The staff are utterly brilliant and friendly and Louize made sure everything went to plan. I can’t praise or thank everyone enough for helping make our day go so well. This was the 4th date for the wedding and 3rd venue and all the disruption was worth it to get such a brilliant day. Look no further for the best and most beautiful wedding venue in Glasgow. My meal, a Set Menu was great, Chicken Liver Pate on oatcakes with date purée, tasty. Pulled Pork burger and fries also tasty. My wife's and sisters chicken had to be returned as it was cold, the new chicken was hot and tasty. It was a busy noisy but pleasant atmosphere, the staff were friendly and helpful.

Came for the festive menu, and overall had a good meal, but nothing special. The starter several of us ordered was particularly disappointing (a very small dry tart shell with a thin layer of beetroot puree and some roast onion - nothing to hold it together, the tart was sweet (more suited to a dessert?!) - it felt incomplete), but the main and dessert was good which somewhat made up for it. The set menu price wasn't actually applied to any of our meals, as buying the components separately apparently worked out cheaper - fair play to the staff for doing that for us rather than putting it through as set menu to make more money, but why bother with the set menu if it's more expensive?

Service was a bit delayed for drinks but after speaking with supervisor Anastasia she really went out her way to make sure we were happy and got the drinks to us right away after speaking with her. Lacks a bit of atmosphere but the interior is lovely and it has a well stocked bar. Haven't eaten there, but will give it a go one day. Great drinks selection. Cocktails are nice. Beautiful building. There is a small secluded area out on the balcony that is stunning and is usually away from the crowds. Only downside is it's very, very busy at the weekends and it's overly crowded

Went for dinner and had mussels in a cheese sauce (stunning) a steak burger (OK roll a bit dry) and sticky toffee pudding (yum) It was busy with a great buzz to it and the staff were really nice. Even though my burger was OK my wife really enjoyed her steak. So on this initial visit it was good but not great,we are going back as my sister has a voucher to use so will update when I try something else.

Had lunch here last saturday. It was nice to sit outside in the sunshine. One minor flaw: I ended up with a pint of Heverlee when I ordered a pint of "heavy" :-) However, the nachos were perfect. And the burger was really delicious and perfectly cooked. The staff were nice and responsive. This place is recommended for a quick lunch, but we found the place so pleasant that we ended up sitting there for more than three hours!

Currently at citation for my first visit. Bar staff all fantastic - professional, accommodating & welcoming. I am marking 2 stars down for the disgusting attitude of the drinks waitress. While I was standing at the bar, the way she spoke to her colleagues was absolutely deplorable, so discourteous & unprofessional. As a hospitality manager with 20 years experience I am appalled to have witnessed this from someone front line in customer service. This being said, again the bar staff were all wonderful, it's just a pity that the waitress with the most contact with guests displays such shocking behaviour towards colleagues.

Downstairs is where the bar is with loads of sitting and standing places. Upstairs, you'll find the restaurant that is spacious. There's also a small outdoor seating area with heaters. The venue is trendy, spacious and clean. There's a DJ deck by the bar. Staff are friendly and plentiful but service can still be a bit slow as it gets quite busy. Really nice, friendly and casual vibe.

Decor in this place is grande to say the least, very classy and a lot of space. Theres some outdoor seating and the building itself is amazing. Staff are quite helpful and haven't had any issues besides the fact that sometimes they don't serve you drinks upstairs if your sitting outside and its busy. So you need to go down and bring the drinks up which can be a little annoying but still ok. Never tried the food here only been for drinks a few times. The crowd is professional and slightly older i.e. no students.

ItIsOn deal for £25 for two courses and a glass of prosecco is not worth it. We were a part of four and all got different options from the set menu. Portions were miniscule, with the smallest chicken wings I've ever seen. Staff were very pleasant and attentive and the venue itself is very nice. If the food was improved it would be 5 stars.

Have been here before in the summer and the food was great so decided to go back for my niece's birthday. Really disappointed today ! Beetroot and red onion tartlet was extremely disappointing. Tart casing was really hard and topping seemed to be red onions with little else on the plate. Salmon was nice but crushed potatoes and sauce were tasteless and the steak burger looked like it came out of MacDonalds with fries on the side. Disgusting ! After complaining about the starter the waitress kindly swapped for the soup. However she stayed well away when the mains were brought out. I would rather have given up the bottle of wine in the deal for half decent food. Discounts are meant to bring in new customers surely not drive them away. Won't be recommending the restaurant to my friends.

Desserts pretty average, tarte citron came deconstructed basically a plain cheesecake with a small portion of lemon sauce on the side. Dark chocolate and orange had literally no orange taste to it. I have been to Citation many times to eat and always enjoyed it. Christmas dinner however was a bit of a let down and service not up to its usual standard. Quite disappointing but will go back as it is usually a very enjoyable food experience.

Had a really pleasant meal at Citation. The vegetarian choice for the set meal was a caramelized onion, beetroot & pine nut tart which was lovely. The mains choice was Mac'n cheese with a small piece of garlic bread it was also very nice. The house wine was Italian and ok, the ambience was relaxed, the service very good, so overall a very nice experience. Would I return, mmmm not much of a vegetarian choice so probably not?

Our family treated my wife and me to a pre-theatre dinner. We both had chicken which looked a little helping on a huge white plate, but was very filling. It's a substantial property with bar on ground floor and restaurant on second floor. We moved on to KingsTheatre for The King and I. A great show with great music in a popular theatre. Seating is comfortable and the staff most welcoming.

Citation itself is a nice venue in the Merchant City and would happily recommend it for drinks or food. Waiter was perhaps less than enthusiastic otherwise would have given 5 stars.

Great place for cocktails and drinks (for those who aren't on a budget). However, the toilets are a complete and utter joke. For a place this size, the bathrooms are ridiculous. Downstairs is where you go for drinks whilst upstairs is the restaurant. The bathroom downstairs is diabolical; two stalls for women and one was out-of-order when I visited. This resulted in a huge queue out into the adjoining corridor. The smell in the bathrooms is disgusting and the one remaining cubicle had no toilet-roll, meaning women were using paper-towels instead. I witnessed one woman ask her friend to stand guard at the male's toilet-door whilst she used the gents toilet instead. This is simply atrocious considering you're paying a fortune for an upmarket atmosphere and expensive drinks. We didn't eat here so I can't comment on the food, or the restaurant, or the upstairs bathroom. But considering the queue and the amount of people using the downstairs toilet, I doubt upstairs is better. Would come again only if the toilets were better, very off-putting.
