Reviews of Highland Safaris
K. P.
This was one of the highlights of our holiday. Hand feeding the deer was incredible as was the white owl. The drive into the Highland forests was breathtaking. All the rangers were very knowledgeable and humorous with it. I loved it.
M. M.
Had a nice afternoon on the mountain safari. Although we didn't see much in the way of wildlife the guide Tony was extremely knowledgeable and filled the trip with lots of interesting facts about wildlife, the forest and the general area. Highly recommended trip.
M. V.
We went on a private safari with Colin. We enjoyed every minute of it, Colin was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. He's an excellent story teller! We learnt so much about Scottish flora and fauna and spotted several red deer, including a stag, and cute red squirrels. We even heard a stag roaring at the distance. Amazing!
v. r.
It is easy to see why this place is a 5 star visitor attraction.
The friendly staff are brilliant hosts, food was great quality. Great range of activities on offer and price points. A visit to the Red deer Centre is really informative and we enjoyed panning for gems for ages.
It's a very warm welcome at the reception and cafe for dogs and their humans.

We came for the scenery and were simply delighted by the company — Allan, Graham and George were our tour guides, and we had the best afternoon with them. They were full of endless facts and knowledge about the area and wildlife, but they were also great fun; ready with a joke and down for a laugh! Our picnic lunch at the hilltop bothy was such a lovely experience and truly exceeded our expectations. I hope to join them again one day for another adventure!
D. B.
Went with family. Beautiful zoo in a gorgeous setting. Has a cafe and a venison food stall when we were there. Also a gift shop. Plenty of toilets. I noticed ramps to assist wheel chair users. Great day out. Seen Brodie the little star, he went for a swim in the pool.
D. G.
Fantastic place. The mountain safari was mind blowing, it was a true adventure. The guides are knowledgeable and have great stories. Recommend to everyone.
The staff are extremely polite and informative.
G. M.
A really nice safari in the beautiful Highlands! The ranger has great knowledge of everything what lives and grows up in the mountains.
We had a good lunch on top and the views are really stunning!!! Was worth every penny.
B. L.
We had a safari tour in Jan 2023, Paul was our guide and was brilliant, Up on the hill there were Red deer and we had a welcome coffee / wee dram of whiskey at the Bothy. Thoroughly enjoyed our tour and returned to the centre and ate in the cafe, lovely food and the staff are very friendly,
S. R.
Great place for a day out we did the safari our driver Alan was extremely knowable served us with a wee dram or 2 and coffee at the bothy. We had lunch in the on site cafe, I had nice venison burger that was really good.
W. D.
Had a fabulous time on this snowy trip up into the highlands. Tony was an excellent guide. Managed to find us some wild red deer in the snowy landscape. The ride was rough due to the ice, and a blizzard adding to the atmosphere while at the bothy enjoying our coffee and wee dram of Dewars. Tony was extremely knowledgable and entertaining. The ride was fabulous and due to the ice poor Tony had to get the chains on the wheels …. He did say he wasn’t cold !!! I’m not sure I believe him hahahaha. The cafe was lovely and the shop had some lovely gifts … bought a pair of gloves that are soooo warm. Love them. Don’t go to the highlands without going here. 👍👍👍👍
K. K.
The best part of our Scotland trip! Harriet saved the day when we weren't able to find a ride to their lodge and arranged for our guide, Colin, to pick us up for our safari. I can't say enough about Colin! He was so knowledgeable about the history of the area and took us on the most incredible journey to the top of the mountain where we had a scrumptious wine and charcuterie lunch. The view felt like you were in a postcard. I highly recommend the private charter. The entire experience was heavenly!
S. H.
Colin was our guide for the mountain safari. He was a fountain of knowledge about the animals, history, and people who worked and farmed the land 🦌
We were lucky to see a herd of deer run across our path close to the jeep. The views were spectacular 😁
B. C.
Great day out at the centre. We met Ossian the barn owl, fed the red deer, panned for jewels and had an excellent lunch at the cafe. We'll definitely be back for the safaris up the hill and more deer action!
C. P.
Fantastic restaurant - had the chicken and Scottish cheddar panini. Totally awesome and the coffee was equally good. Tasted just like Swings coffee that is a favorite of the White House in Washington, DC!
S. C.
We had a quick pitstop at Highland Safari on our way to Inverness and, it was an awesome experience at Red Deer Park. Andy is very knowledgeable and shared various facts about the Barn Owl and Deers while being super hilarious at the same time. The experience is well thought out and covers all expectations and a real good learning exposure to kids and adults alike. Thank you Andy for making the experience so memorable.
We visited the Highland Safari cafe for a quick bite. Cafe has a good variety of food on the menu to suit all customers and through out the day. We were happy to have cheerful Meg as our server. She was very helpful and nice with handling the kids. We were treated on priority and served with piping hot food and drinks. Thank you once again Meg.
K. K.
Highland Safaris is not to be missed if visiting this area of Scotland. The Red Deer Encounter means you get to feed these beautiful animals by hand from the Red Deer barn. Also an encounter with a Barn Owl and an interesting talk by one of the guides. 4x4 Safaris into the surrounding hills are also available. The centre has an excellent gift shop and café. We had a memorable experience which was a highlight of our holiday.
C. W.
The cafe was lovely! The food was really tasty, super good value for money too!
We also visited the Red Deer Centre and had a really good time.
J. R.
Informative and fun meeting the owls and feeding the deer. Great off road by land rover to the top of the hill.
D. S.
Absolutely amazing day out with the kids! They had great fun panning for gold and gems.
The cafe is great and the quality of the food is amazing as well.
We also picked up some antlers from the shop to remind us of our trip!
P. R.
Very interesting and informative, the rangers are very knowledgeable with a nice touch of humour, they obviously love their jobs.
L. M.
Great cafe, gift shop and outdoor area. Lots to choose from on the menu, tasty coffee from the local Glen Lyon Coffee Roasters, the gift shop is stuffed full of things to buy and you can see deer in the fields. It's not to be missed, plenty of parking and open all year long, and you can book one of their popular safaris..🦌 …
K. Z.
Red Deer Centre- Love to see animals in such close contact and you can feed them from you hand with food provided by the ranger. Owl show is nice addition. Wee talk from the ranger about Red deers.
Forest safari- place for improvement in my opinion as to call this forest safari is a big stretch. Photo on the website slightly misleading to the true story. In our case we paid for a trip in land rover up to hill only. Didn’t see any animals on the way- all squirrels hide and all red deer’s were on the another side of the hill. We had nice weather which was only bright side of this trip along with the Ranger talk about different plants/animals, which was nice addition to no animals anywhere on our path. You will be given binoculars to look around although as no animals in our case can be spotted(I’m not counting sheeps/dogs/chickens), we only looked on the trees.
Golf panning is nice addition as well especially for children.
S. S.
Wonderful experience, close encounters with red deer and able to hand feed them.
P. T.
Really really good experience. Cafe is lovely with great service from Deb's and co. Limited but tasty menu. Also went in one tour in the forests with Graham who was fun, entertaining and knowledgeable. Well worth a visit. Thanks guys.
K. K.
This was our first ever visit to Highland Safaris and wish we had been sooner. Such a great way to spend a few hours with the kids. The onsite play park works really well with activities for all ages, including searching for gold and other treasures. The Discovery Trail is fantastic and if you're bringing your kids bicycle, they have a track for that too.
We had booked the Deer and Owl experience, led by Andy who was outstanding. His wit and knowledge was second to none and so keen to also 'entertain' as well as educate us all.
We had both lunch and afternoon cake and treats, so got a great idea of what was on offer, we even managed to purchase a bit in the shop too 👍
I'd highly recommend a visit, especially with younger members of the family, but there are also lots of other activities they do which we didn't take part in this time round.
M. K.
Amazing staff. Lots of activities to choose from (although almost everything requires advance bookings).
We opted for a bike hire. The guys were extremely helpful and lovely to chat. They advised the best route to take and were happy to assist in any way.
Would definitely come back for a 4x4 experience.
T. S.
Another regular place to go when we visit the area. Their lemon and almond cake, gluten free, is superb. Booking isn't available for the cafe, but if a 5 or 10 minute wait is needed, there are plenty of distractions on site for children and adults.
S. R.
Lots to do here, loved panning for gold! The food was amazing and the staff were so friendly and helpful, they really could not do enough. Tony's advice on local waterfalls was very much appreciated.
A. M. B.
It a lovely place to visit, friendly, helpful staff, activities for children and lovely home cooking and baking. Smashing gift shop too. On a previous occasion we went on one of the 'safaris' up into the surrounding hills. We loved it and will do it again next year.
V. B.
Tony was absolutely marvelous, so knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna and an expert driver. We enjoyed the scenic highlands and learned so much about the locals and the land. Have not met a more engaging personality than Andy and his lovely owls and Red deer! It was a lovely experience for my ten year old as well who not only enjoyed the safari but also was thrilled to feed the deer at the Red Deer center. The Cafe itself is warm and inviting and all the staff were courteous and charming.
M. H.
Brilliant couple of hours spent here, enjoying meeting and learning about Ossian the barn owl and the red deer. Tony is great fun and very knowledgeable and the team are friendly. We also enjoyed a lovely lunch in the cafe and a rummage in the gift shop. All set in the most beautiful setting.
A. P.
Great day here they know their stuff Great fun 😀 …
P. W.
Great day out. Jeep trip up the hills, and red deer farm.
L. W.
My partner and I went to the deer centre as a last minute trip, so worth it! The staff within the deer centre were so welcoming and friendly from the minute we arrived. The food in the cafe was so yummy!
We had booked to see the deer and the owl, George had told us so many interesting facts about the deer and the owl. He welcomed questions for anyone that had them. The animals were so beautiful. 10/10, definitely a must if you visit Aberfeldy!
I. A.
Really enjoyed the talk from Robert on a barn owl and red deer ! Very close to both and was able to feed the deer ,both the stag and his female friends, great cafe offering snacks and meals ,we unfortunately couldn't get a table when we were finished the tour ! Would certainly consider returning if in the area again also a shop selling mostly tourist type of items and some small hats erc!
T. B.
The dog friendly café boasts a very cheerful staff combined with delicious food and coffees. Quiche was delicious, sandwiches are good sized with yummy fillings and cappuccinos were hot and tasty! Breakfast was equally wonderful esp the french toast and eggs Benedict. The small attached gift shop has a terrific assortment of momentos and even some outdoor wear if the weather demands it. We didn't do any of the safaris.
B. D.
Brilliant adventure up in to the mountains, saw Red Deer Stag and Hinds.
George the tour guide was excellent - so knowledgeable, pointing out flora and fauna of interest. Highly recommend for a bit of true Scottish interest.
l. b.
Enjoyed every minute of this experience. Very informative guides.
D. N.
We have been on Highland safari today, we had a very friendly, enthousiatic, young tour guide. (Robbie) We highly reccomend this tour, fantastic views of the area. Great experience, one to never forget.
M. P.
Hi,
I recommend going there and booking a tour with them because: we learnt soooooo much about the highlands, people, history, wild-life, nature, and it was fun, time flew by we were in the zone!
Keep up the good work!
Cheers
Michael
M.
A great day. Great views and great staff. Need I say more?
Food is home cooked and really good.
c. m. b. d.
Good fun doing something a bit different
Guides were excellent
Fantastic views
Opportunity to feed deer
Lovely cafe and gifts available
F. A.
Started our visit here with a wander round and a look at the deer enclosure, then off for a bite of lunch in the café. The cakes looked amazing but the toasties and tea more than filled us up before we took the Mountain Safari, the weather was a bit "mixed" but that didn't detract from the experience. Colin our guide was friendly and very informative. Would do this again, perhaps at a different time of the year for a slightly different experience. Can highly recommend.
T. C.
Didn’t think we would see much . Once we drove it higher up the mountain and it became a bit barren with no trees I though great what could we possibly see. HOLY MAC we saw hundreds for deer and they gave you binoculars and our guide was fantastic! They drove us to a bothy and had a sip of whiskey. By the way they have an outhouse that is amazingly super well kept!
They also have a great little shop , cafe and a deer center for the kids . It is all professionally well done.
I. M.
Mr. Scotland was our drive / ranger and was a wealth of information on the surrounding areas and the viewing sights he took us to were breath taking, I spotted an Eagle at the first stop then further up the hills he got his spotting scope set up and found us a herd of dear right at the top of the mountain. We then went further up to the bothy where he served us with tea and coffee with shortbread and a wee nip and some history of the local distillery before we headed back down with some more photo stops and more banter and history. Jim you are a legend sir, thank you for a great day out on the hills. RECOMMEND 👍
G. L.
Great place for adults and kids. We did the deer feeding and gold panning and it was great fun. Really knowledgeable guide. Met the owl as well. Highly recommended.
M. G.
We took a trip with two young kids. The rangers were very good at keeping them engaged with the talks. We did the red deer and owl encounter and a forest Safari. Both were very good.
There is a small play park with a sandpit and a bouncy castle was set up as well.
The cafe food was very good and reasonably priced.
R. A.
Was recommended this place by our b & b, would say it was a hidden gem. It felt a little off the track, but was so nice and charming! Only went there for food, which was good! The staff were so nice. Seemed to be a lot of activities there sp would be great for families. There were many there who seemed to be thoroughly enjoying themselves. Don't miss this place!
C. C.
We booked in last minute on a bank Holiday and they had space for us. We had Ranger George, he has a keen eye for wildlife . We saw an eagle and a huge heard of deer !
He was friendly, informative and a great photographer!
Would gladly do it again!
S. S.
I loved every minute. Colin was a wonderful story-teller. I expected to cover a bigger area and more off-road driving. The centre has a coffee shop and area for the kids with attractions.
D. S.
Awesome place with awesome tours and guides!
Land rover excursions up in to the hills with your very own Kilted tour guide, we had the pleasure of George being our guide and he was an absolute gentleman, great local knowledge.
Would definitely recommend!
C. W.
Fantastic morning here, a highlight of our Perthshire stay. Our guide Cameron very knowledgeable and friendly. Cracking drive up through the forest onto the mountains in the snow. Great value for money and will definitely be back! Highly recommended!!😎👍👍👍 …
J. R.
A great experience! We went away up into the snow line in a 6x wheel drive where we had stops to take in the breathtaking views, trees and wildlife, although with it being winter the wildlife was hiding from the cold quite well. I'm from the Highlands and used to the outdoors, but this was still well worth the trip. Great venue, friendly and knowledgeable staff.
B. M.
A great way to see the wildlife, views, and history of the area. Our safari guide Andy was absolutely brilliant. The land rover drive was lots of fun and it couldn't have gone any better. Strongly recommend this experience!
T. B.
Just stopped in for lunch as staying near by. Food and service was excellent. Top chat from Tony had a good laugh.

C. G.
Second time we've done the red deer feeding experience and it was as much fun as the first time. Gem panning good fun too. Staff very friendly and helpful
j. w.
Lovely spot for a short day out. Should have traded in some Tesco club card vouchers before hand to make it cheaper. Small cafe had some gluten free cake options too.
T. H.

Excellent only did the red deer centre experience and our lad the pan for gold and gems. Robert our guide was full of knowledge and very nice. Next time we visit will definitely have to do the safari.
D.
I always love a trip to the cafe, the food is good, I just miss being able to sit at the fire.
G.
What an amazing time we had. Going to the top of a huge hill or 'munro' as they are called to see the wild deer. Cameron and Jane were great tour guides who knew their stuff. Then we fed the deer back at base and saw a barn owl up close with Andy who should be on TV. He's great. All in all a great day
L. C.
Great service from the experts on the deer and owl.
S. D.
Beautiful place, extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. Lots to do for the kids and great value for the entry fee. Would highly recommend.
j. D.
My daughter and I took a private safari tour and I have learned a lot with our amazing guide Colin who was extremely interesting.
The place is great to have a little something to eat and great to relax with Kids (playpark outside)
Loved every minute spent here
C. M.
Absolutely magic. I can't recommend these guys enough. Had a amazing tour up in to the mountains. Saw lots of wildlife ( at one point we could have reached out the jeep and touched a mountain hair) and the guide was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Would deffinatley do again if up that way.
S. H.
Excellent safari with Tony who was very knowledgeable and a great guy. We did the mountain safari and high up onto the hills and saw Red Deer although we needed binoculars /telescope. We learnt about the area, mosses, lichen, flora and fauna and the history of the area. Stopped at the bothy for tea/coffee, shortbread and a dram whiskey, which was great. We were out 2 1/2 hours and the time flew by. I would definitely recommend, even if you don't see any animals the views are amazing, we managed to see Benn Nevis in the distance. 10/10
N. F.
Excellent place to visit. We fed the deer and saw the barn owl. The ranger was very informative. Great place for children.

Panning for gold and gems, great fun for children and adults. Friendly service, hot drinks enjoyed on a blustery afternoon
C. S.
This was a great afternoon, with brilliant scenery and great guidance from Jim and Colin. Some more wildlife sightings would have seen this get 5 stars, but that’s no fault of the company. Highly recommended.
I. R.
Owl and deer experience are great and good value for money. Cafe serves excellent food with friendly service
E. C.
You start a lovely coffee shop and have a adventure up the side of a mountain in a Land Rover! It really is a great day out! George our guide was very knowledgable and fun!!

Our fourth time on one of the best outings we've ever enjoyed, The guides are knowledgeable and considerate of the mix of guests and their individual needs, catering to children and adults of all ages. Robert and Tony have a comfortable banter between them that makes everyone feel involved and no question is too much trouble. Generous with their hospitality and sharing their considerable expertise Robert and Tony made the landscape and its wildlife accessible to all. Thank you again and look forward to seeing you again next year.
K. F.
Signed up for the mountain safari. Really enjoyable couple of hours. Few animals on show but that’s how it goes. Fantastic scenery and very knowledgeable guide. Jim was ours but I bet they are all good
m. l.
Popped into the place really quickly on my way to see the local Pictish Cross at Dull. From what I saw I think I would rush back with my daughter. Staff friendly. Cafe was full and buzzing and lots to do around the place including gold panning.

m. l.
Enjoyed it, much more than expected! Brilliant views and definitely worth it
G. W.
I went to see the red deer. We were lucky as it was only my wife and I and Colin our host. The talk about the deer was very informative but the best bit was hand feeding them. After the feed we were then introduced to Ossian the Barn Owl. Lovely place with a great cafe and staff. Next time we'll do one of the off road safaris.
T. M.
Beautiful place to visit, and staff were very friendly, welcoming and friendly

Fab Safari day out had by nine ladies in two jeeps, expertly carried out by Tony & Robert & 3 sightings of deer, highly recommended
J. F.
Thank you Cameron for a fantastic informative safari. We would highly recommend.
J. H.
A great place for all ages youngsters have play areas and experience activities as well as a mountain bike experience route that has a honesty box. The Red Deer experience and Barn Owl flight is wonderful for all hearing about the deer and the way they spend their year, then taking some food pellets and having the deer up close with Stags, Hinds and Fawns feeding from your hand, you get a real sense of the size of these magnificent animals.
You can also experience a 6 wheeled 4x4 up in to the hills and see wildlife in their natural habitat. And is just some of the activities.
G. H.
Brilliant. A great way to see the mountains, plenty of wildlife and a dram of whisky to top it off!
G. M.

R. S.
Excellent experience, guide Colin was helpful, funny and knowledgeable, would recommend
D. M. G.
We love this place! It's without a doubt one of the nicest places to stop at. I have never had a better veggie haggis in my life!
We also love the raindeer experience and just how friendly the staff is! We keep coming back and are never disappointed! Absolutely brilliant
N. C.
What a fabulous place. We only did the paddock due to it being Christmas Eve, but it was brilliant! Unfortunately we broke down and had to spend a considerable amount of time in the cafe - which was delicious! Such helpful staff, we made the most of the trails and play area.
R. D.
A fantastic day out! Highly recommended! All the staff are very friendly, could not fault them. We went on safari tour with Andy, great fun 👍 We learned some local knowledge and survival tips. Visited Ossian the owl and the Red Deer with Robbert, yes his Dutch English accent is easier to understand than Andy's Glaswegian 😄 Tony popped by to say hello 👋 We stayed all day and let the kids ride the mountain bikes. Safe to say we all had a great time and made lots of memories! Please visit and support this small rural business, you will not be disappointed!
S. R.
Really enjoyed our visit today. Robert gave us a very insightful talk about the Red Deer and Ossian, the Barn Owl. Would love to go on the 4x4 tour next time! Thoroughly recommend a visit.
A. M.
Tony, our driver and guide, was kind, knowledgeable and courteous. Our safari was a great experience and we would do it again.
Thanks to the team at the centre as well for their help in planning our visit with mum (91).
L. E. A.
Very lovely people and a such good service. It was amazing seeing the deers there, and Collin, our guide, was very caring and funny!
P. R.
Had a brilliant mountain safari with Tony this morning - we were lucky enough to spot roe deer and a huge number of red deer as well as kestrels, skylarks and a heron. We also learnt a lot from Tony and he was fun to listen to! We had lunch at the cafe afterward which was very good, as it has been on all of our visits.
S. B.
We mainly stopped for some food.
Had the highlander burger and it was amazing, other people in our group had toasties and soups and all said they were nice. Was sat outdoors but the tables had heaters so we were warm enough to be comfortable.
A. R.
We had lunch here and were thoroughly impressed. The food was lovely, especially the Cullen skink, and the staff so friendly and helpful. There's a lovely wee shop too and some reindeer to see for the wee ones! We'll certainly be back
G. M.
Amazing place! Well priced, staffed by really friendly and Knowledgeable staff, loved every minute and can't wait too get back. Oh and cafe was pretty tasty too! and made a new friend too!
K. P.
Lovely staff, dressed traditionally which is a great touch. Deer centre is great for the kids with an upclose look at an owl. Playground for kids and lovely cafe. Indoor and outdoor seating. Perfect for a couple of hours or even just for coffee and cake!
N. S.
George was a fantastic guide, very friendly and knowledgeable on wildlife, and the local area
P. B.
Went on a private charter safari and our driver was very knowledgeable, about both the area and the wildlife. We also had lunch at their cafe in the complex and the food was tasty and reasonably priced. Add the fact that their staff are all so friendly, then it was a pretty perfect day. The only thing missing was the wildlife which mostly stayed hidden, apart from some deer, but it was a very warm and sunny day so that's probably why.
G. R.
Excellent day out for the family..lots to do and quality food and drinks available.
Make it a day stopover.
R.
We visited the cafe, fantastic food and atmosphere. Highly recommend.
P. M.
Just done the highland safari driving experience what a fantastic three hours our instructor colin was excellent felt we where in safe hands all the time this is a must do experience
K. W.
What a fantastic experience, thanks to Iain for a great safari
O. O.
We visited on a busy day in August and had a delightful time. Both adults and kids enjoyed panning, and what was great was that the kids could easily run off and play on the playground or in the sandpit as the adults panned or sat at the tables. It made the visit stress-less!
Lunch (the venison burger) was substantial and delicious, and the coffee was particularly good too.
A lasting memory will be the incredibly friendly staff -- despite being a very busy day for them. Thank you.
w. b.
Absolutely loved the whole experience. Alan our guide was brilliant, very knowledgeable and answered all questions that we asked. We didn't see any wild deer on the safari, but having the chance to feed the tamer ones in the centre was just great. Would recommend this trip to anyone, would love to do it again one day.
H. K.
Fun experience. Andy was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Even though the weather wasn't great(Scotland;-))we really enjoyed it and caught sight of some deer and horses on the hills. Definitely worth the trip. Shop and cafe really good.
B. B.
What a great day out with a fun bunch of guys
R. M.
A great place for the whole family, interesting attractions and friendly service. I recommend it for the whole family
I. C.
We had a great Land-rover Safari, very interesting & good fun. Cafe is very good too, but gets very busy at lunchtime
K. M.
The staff in reception were both brilliant - extremely helpful, friendly and made all of us feel very welcome (especially our dog!). Both tours were great and all of the guides (Robbie, Stuart and Jessica) were excellent throughout. Highly recommended if you're in the area.
K. T.
We went on a mountain tour with Colin. Sadly due to the weather we didn't get to see a lot but Colin was fantastic - so knowledgeable and friendly. Loved talking to him and learning what he had to share. 100% worth booking
N. C.
We didn't go on safari because there was plenty on site to interest and occupy the youngest members of the party, namely the panning for gold and gems. Food was tasty, beautifully presented and served by the friendly staff. There's lots to interest all ages and well worth further visits.
H. M.
Great place to learn about deer and Ossian the Owl. Lots of fun panning for gold. Lovely cuppy too with lots of home bakes!
J. L. W.
My nine year old daughter and I had a lovely morning here today. The owl and red deer experience was wonderfully presented by our guide Tony who gave us lots of fascinating information with a good few jokes thrown in! We had an excellent lunch in the cafe, and I'd recommend dropping by for this alone, then finished with a gold panning session which brought out the treasure hunter in the children and parents alike. It is most definitely one of the friendliest visitor experiences I've ever been to. You can tell the staff like working there, it simply has a joyful atmosphere. We will return, hopefully one autumn to see the red dear in their "hormone crazy" phase! Should be fun! Thanks for a superb visit.
A. D.
We just tried the cafe not the safaris. We were on holiday and just fancied a coffee, the small sign at the bottom of the lane did not inspire but we decided to give it a try. The cafe is part of the Highland Safari business and there is plenty of parking, they don't mind visitors calling just for the cafe. The coffee is better than average but the toasted sandwiches are really nice and the cakes look great.
T. C.
Wonderful place to visit to see deers and amazing family fun
D. A.
Just called for a coffee.
Wonderfull set up very friendly staff well worth a visit.
K. L.
What an amazing place 😍 absolutely loved it and so did the kids. Deer are lovely and the owl is just magnificent. Tony was brilliant and made the day a 5 star experience …
S. I.
Highly recommend doing this, our driver Andy was amazingly funny and so knowledgeable. Great way to learn some things and get up in the Munro's. We did the 2.5 hrs one.
The cafe there does fantastic food as well with a nice gift shop.
J. P.
Thank you Tony great knowledgeable guide and driver, he made a huge effort to include everyone he even knew a lot of Dutch which helped a lady and her two boys. Obviously would of loved to see Eagles,Ospreys,Cappercaily ect but alas not but that's nature for you....we did manage to see Red Deer from a distance while sipping a wee dream...Tony's knowledge second to none...Flora and Fauna,Wildlife ect...Can only say just go
B. M.
Such a great couple of hours spent in the capable hands of Cameron our expert guide and Land Rover driver. Very interesting learning about the local wildlife (saw Red Deer and a Golden Eagle) and history and the experience of driving at scary angles in a 4WD is something I will never forget 😁 Great experience for any family interested in spending some time outdoors having some fun in the Highlands.
S. D. S.
Interesting tour, Jim was a nice chap. Talking all the time in Scottish even tourist's can understand. ... well, parts of it ;-)
A. W.
We did the Deer and Owl Experinece with Tony and he was great. Had a go at the gold panning as well which proved successful and kept us all quietly occupied for almost an hour. Food in the cafe was also great and enjoyed by all. A good way to spend a morning.
K. R.
Wonderful place! Stopped in for brunch and coffee. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. They made us feel very welcome and genuinely happy to be working! Coffee was excellent, to a standard you'd see in a city. I had the mac and cheese which was delicious. They were following covid precautions, lots of sanitizer, a one way system and good spacing throughout! Very impressed and in stunning scenery.
A. S.
We did the Deer visit and also got a week ticket to panning for gold. We also used the pump track and used the centre for a base to go cycling. We also could drop in and use the panning for gold ticket at the end of the day to keep the kids busy.
S. M.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Warm cosy atmosphere. Popped in for lunch, plenty of room and good service.
T. S.
While we didn't go on the safari, we did stop in at the cafe to enjoy a lovely lunch. The service was top notch, the food was delicious, and they have a great system in place for meeting covid guidelines in the cafe.
Great food, fantastic service, and a beautiful location in Aberfeldy.
I. T.
Pet friendly food lovely beautiful setting 🐕 …
R. H.
Brilliant experience led by knowledgeable staff. Will definitely be back again. Feeding the deer was especially good with Colin who gave an interesting insight into Ossian the owl and the deer.
Highly recommend a visit.
L. W.
Really nice place to visit. The staff were very friendly. The food was very nice. There was activities for children to do.
L. V.
We went on a private charter safari and had an amazing time. Our guide Andy was unbelievably knowledgeable about the local area, and was so interesting to listen to. It's well worth the money - we're already thinking about booking our next trip!
M. P.
Fantastic experience guided by amazing safari’s driver and guide Graham! Thanks a lot!!
Y.
Hired cycle bikes. Had seat attached for my 4 year old. Nice day out. Plenty of other activities to do here. Good park for the kids. Food and beverages served here. Shop had a nice variety. I purchased the Silver Buckthorn hand wash from shop that they had in the bathroom. Lovely smell. Would recommend giving it a try here. You won't be disappointed. Staff here very friendly and on hand to ask questions.
S.
Beautiful cafe, shop and food...great fun gold and gem panning. A real find, so glad we went.
s. f.
Even though it was a very wet day for our visit it was still very interesting
P. G.
Absolutely outstanding Safari with Andy. A genuine lover of nature, and of the area as well. Scenery was fantastic - obviously - and Andy was very knowledgeable. Learned so much from him.
Would 100% recommend this to anyone. The actual site is lovely and well laid out too. Saw some deer in the deer park as well. Majestic.
S. G.
One of the best days out we have had while staying in Scotland. We did the red deer feed which was a lot better than we was expecting with a great talk about the red deer as well as the barn owl. The gentleman was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. We then did the mountain safari again this was amazing and so much fun, the driver was brilliant and so friendly and informative with the surrounding area and spotted some great wildlife while we were out. The food is amazing and it was such a warm welcome would highly recommend a visit there. Definitely will return.
J. C.
Love visiting this place, every one of the staff are always very friendly & very helpful.
The food is good & served quickly.
I noticed on my visit today all of the staff in the restaurant/shop can do any of the jobs.they have a good system of someone taking the orders,& taking time with you to do so.someone else brings your order out.
Why I had never visited befor this year I do not know.
A. M.
We panned for gold and had a lovely time, a really nice place to visit with lots of different activities, prices vary though so check out their website and booking recommended we never and were lucky to get spaces but if you are travelling specifically I would definitely book
S. W.
I'm so sorry to say that our experience today wasn't so great 😔 the centre, shop, cafe and staff were all fantastic - we were very excited about perhaps seeing some eagles, deer or even red squirrels. Although our guide was very knowledgeable about the geology of the area, we actually only saw two swans and a heron, in the distance. (The binoculars issued weren't that great!) We realise that animals aren't programmable, but we were told the deer were the other side of the hill, away from the wind - would it not have been possible to reroute the safari accordingly? In all, it seemed not to be great value for money...
D. W.
We had a great day at the highland safari from the the first meeting at reception then a lovely lunch before we went on the mountain safari. There was four of us onthe trip a really nice Irish couple we had Andy as our guide he was a lovely chap had a very extensive knowledge of the mountains and had a great sense of humour. And then to find out his dad was a submariner was a bonus as I was a submariner myself.
D. Q.
Nice wee place. Loved a bit gold panning too 🤪😁🤪 …
K. H.
Great couple of hours with a good driver/narrator. Up on the Moor stopping to be told what was to see cuppa at the top and a run back down, entertaing
L. D.
Wonderful experience our guide robbie was friendly and witty
A. C.
Fantastic day well worth a visit. Charlie our guide was amazing so much knowledge will definitely be back,
T. R.
Brilliant place enjoyed it. Donald was very informative
D. W.
What a brilliant place had a lovely breakfast then went to see the deer, Colin our guide was so knowledgeable and answered all our questions we then got to feed the deer, what a lovely experience would certainly recommend a visit
P.
Brilliant Highland tour of stunning location. Perfect way to get up high and experience the mountains without any fear of getting lost or lifting a finger! Very light and informative guide too so plenty to learn. Got some great trips of other local routes and beauty spots to check out too. Bit rushed at the climax but otherwise a perfect centrepiece of our trip
S. T.
Highland safari was fun, engaging and educational. Who doesn’t want to drive around the Perthshire hills in a land rover with a Dutch man? Good times.
I. C.
Really enjoyed the family safari with excellent guidance from Cameron. The red deer Centre was great, and we had a v nice lunch there. All staff made a real effort to be friendly.
I. M.
Did Red deer and owl experiences. Colin was great with adults and children. Gave talk on both owl and red deer. Fed deer. Covid rules were in force. Recommend to anyone visiting area. Tearoom was great too. All staff friendly and amenable.
H. R.
We had fun here. The deer/owl talk was entertaining, but the tours felt expensive. Decent cafe, and entertaining touristy shop, but lacking in obvious gifts and overpriced. Diverting for a couple of hours.
J. W.
A wonderful cafe, the breakfasts are amazing and so tasty. The staff are very friendly creating a welcoming atmosphere. 5 stars plus
D. R. F.
Came for the red deer experience, ended up staying most of the afternoon! Our guide (Donald?) was very friendly and knowledgeable about all aspects of local wildlife and was happy to answer any questions we had. Great way to spend an hour. We ate in the cafe - very reasonable quality/prices, I've certainly had far worse in visitor centres! Definitely check out the little trail behind the main building, great views and you can see the stags up close too, if you're lucky. A lot of the other activities looked like they were very fairly priced, and judging by my experience, would be well worth it. Alas, time waits for no man and we had but a few hours to spare. Next time we are in the vicinity, a 4x4 experience may be on the cards.
C. A.
Lovely friendly welcoming staff and the cafe serves amazingly tasty food.
The deer centre was very interesting and the Barn Owl was an added bonus.
Next time we'll be booking in for a Land Rover Safari.
P. M.
Lovely staff and top quality food. Dog friendly, and a good place for the kids.
C. M.
The best thing about this place is the staff. That is the main reason we went back. We couldn't use the track and trace app on our phones and the lovely young man talked us through it, very patiently. Nice for food, lovely being able to sit out or out in a quiet location.
F. m.
Awesome place. Excellent for food. Friendly staff and gifts, deer and owl perfect
V. C.
Enjoyed an amazing afternoon safari, our guide Robbie was fantastic!
j. l.
Wonderful friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere and fabulous food. Even catered for my vegan requirements and made me a delicious oat cappuccino... perfect place to chill.
S. A.
Very interesting and informative well worth a visit.
L. A.
Visited the centre yesterday and had such an amazing time. Weather was lovely enhancing the whole experience amid the most beautiful scenery. Icing on the cake was the birth of a baby deer whilst we were feeding the others. We thought a suggestion for naming the youngster could be Juli (pronounced either Julie or July) after my friend Judy and myself Liz. What do you think?
Many thanks to Tony whose enthusiasm and commitment to his job was evident .
in the m8st beautiful
R. L.
We only had time to do the Red Deer / Owl experience but thoroughly enjoyed it. Great value for money. The cafe is also well run with a great range of food and drink on offer.
W. R.
Lovely Place lovely Staff great food
D. E.
Staff are very welcoming and knowledgeable but it's very expensive. Forest safari is not worth the money (A drive up a hill in a defender to see deer through a pair of binoculars, over £100 for a family of 4).
G. K.
Great safari with guide Cameron. What a view, what an experience.
V. R.
Wonderful food, lovely setting.
C. G.
Brilliant.... Great views on the way up, got to feed the deer, and a bonus with a barn owl

The restaurant is really nice with amazing views when sitting outside.

A wonderful experience with s great guide even spotted 2 great Stag's 😊 …
S. L.
Fantastic experience, very enjoyable two and a half hour Highland safari with Andy as our driver and guide. The cafe was also really good with great service from Andy. Would definitely recommend.
j. s.
Had a lovely time going on one of their safari's. Not the Massi Mara, but our guide Robbie was very entertaining. And we learnt quite a lot. As I had an interest in birds. He catered for me and we spent some time looking to see what was about.
G. N.
Brilliant day out and Andy doing the deer show was amazing. Tried hard with our kids to get them to interact and kept us all laughing. Had a good time, some laughs and now more about deers than we did before, thanks to Andy. Be back next time we are in Aberfeldy!
J.
Done 3 tours with Highland safaris. Boat tour of Loch Tay, off roading and red deer centre. All 3 absolutely amazing can't fault them in anyway. Great for all ages.
B. S.
Great time spent with the barn owl, the red deer and the man in the kilt 😉 …

Only popped in for lunch first time at highland safari staff are very friendly and helpful great place for kids. I have for my lunch a chicken burger I must say is one of the best burgers I have tasted 😋 compliments to the chef I will return next time I will book a safari adventure 10 out of 10 🤗 …
L. W.
Lots of opportunities here. We did the red deer and owl experience led by Tony who was very informative and entertaining. Comfortable tea room where we enjoyed a lovely lunch. Good quality, friendly staff and reasonable prices.
R. P.
Great day, witnessing the Highlands in all it's glory. Had a wee whisky and shortbread in a cute little hut. Marcolm was our guide, very knowledgeable and chill.

A. M.
Very interesting
Great food. Staff are amazing.
T. K.
Absolute fantastic afternoon. The Red Deer Centre was great and Colin very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The Land Rover Safari with George was amazing. George was very knowledgeable about the local area and the wildlife. Travelling up to the bothy was amazing and the cup of tea and wee dram were more than welcome after the short walk in the snow. Highly recommended.
The cafe and shop were lovely, food very tasty and friendly staff too and a toasty wood burner keeping the place warm.
D. W.
Lovely place for something to eat and great scenery
M. G.
I took my grandson to see Santa, we had a lovely day.
C. H.
Great food. Recently been sold to Crieff hydro so hopefully they'll maintain the high standard.
R. B.
Experienced the 2 and and a half hour Highland safari experience with our wonderful tour guide Ian, who was very informative and knowledgeable.Travelled through the mountains in 4X4 style, then stopped for a coffee and a dram at a wee bothy before returning. All in all had a great day out.Would recommend.
C. H.
Great trip with a very knowledgeable guide.
N. C.
Excellent tour, great fun and spectacular views
R. T.
Fabulas safari experience in the Land Rover with our guide Paul.
Took care of us and made the experience special.
A. W.
Very nice experience. Guide (George) was informative and humorous. Tea stop was cozy and enjoyable. Good opportunity to get into the hills of Scotland and see things fou might not usually see. The cafe street had delicious food and a humorous (Tony) wait staff.
D. C.
We had a great morning out at the Highland Safari. We only participated in the deer and owl encounter but it was great fun getting so close to the red deer stags. We would like to come back for one of the longer safaris but we will likely wait until our daughter is a bit older.
The cafe here is also excellent, very good food and coffee, super friendly staff and some toys for the children to play with.
S. R.
5 star experience which is enhance by 5 star staff. Tour, food and facilities are excellent. Plenty to see and do or just for coffee and cake! A definite must do if visiting the area.
W. B.
One of our excursions with Lochs n Glens, The Red Deer Centre. A place to go when in the area. To see the Red deer up close was amazing.
b. c.
Been there many times and it is still awesome
S. A. M.
Had a great day, all the family enjoyed the gold panning, loved feeding the deer and being up close with the barn owl. The staff are a credit to the place, always on hand to make sure you are having a good time, will definitely be back. Thanks for a great day
K. K.
This was an absolute blast! We had very rainy and misty weather but our guide Jim made it such a great time we didn't mind. I'm so glad we booked, will recommend to anyone going to Scotland.
H. M.
Great trip, led by knowledgeable guide. Learned loads of interesting information about the mountain, the local plants and animals as well as the local area. Thoroughly recommend.
A. B.
Have visited Highland Safaris twice and would highly recommend it. All the staff are so knowledgeable and make it such a worthwhile experience. I particularly love little Ossian the barn owl! Is amazing to get so close to one of these beautiful creatures and to hand feed the deer as well. It is one of my favourite places that I have ever visited.
M. P.
We were staying close by and decided to call in to Highland Safaris. We’re glad we did as the mountain bike experience we booked was excellent. We were dropped high above the village of Dull and given details of various ways to get back to the office. Tony our guide was friendly and helpful and gave us lots of information about the routes. Although we only booked a morning session, we didn’t feel rushed. There was lots going on and plenty of activities to choose from and the prices were good. We used the cafe as well and the service and prices were very good too. Thanks
A. O.
Great food and super friendly staff. On a hot day it was so good to have my dog welcomed inside rather than having to sit in the car. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
F. D.
Booked the red deer feeding and info session. Myself, daughter and 6yr old grandson. We loved it! Just the right length of time to inform but not lose kids interest. Alan, our guide was friendly and funny, encouraging kids and adults to participate. Deer were amazing to get up close to and feed! Then we got to meet Oisin the owl too. Great excursion, easy to find with gps. Loved the shop and the coffee & cakes in the tearoom were to die for. People who worked there all really friendly and helpful. Well worth the visit, even during storm Chiara lol
C. B.
Place to go for friendly welcoming staff, delicious food and very tempting home made cakes. Dog friendly which is a bonus. They even have a shaded area to leave the car if you have a dog but insist you bring them in. They even offered to look after our wee dog if we wanted to go on one of the safari trips. Would most definitely go back if in the area.
B. N.
Great journey Callum up into the hills. Beautiful scenery and expert guiding. The shortbread and wee dram were good also.
E. L.
Always lovely fresh food. Cakes are amazing. Staff so friendly and attentive.
T. L.
Great place for all family. Ranger Robbert was great.
a. c.
Beautiful views and lovely staff
L. N.
5 stars isn't enough! Amazingly friendly and helpful staff. We got stuck in the snow so weren't able to make our booked safari, so they just put us onto the next one. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable, the area is magnificent, and the red deer experience is something else entirely. Would go back tomorrow if I could!!!
N. W.
Good fun. Great deer and owl.
N. “. T.
Had a lovely time feeding the deer was great.
W. E.
The deer are amazing & feeding them out your hand was a great experience. The barn owl was beautiful & moved so elegantly & was extremely vocal 😬 …
E. B.
It was lovely to meet & feed the deer. Felt sorry for the poor owl locked up in a shed, it was screeching the whole time. Food in the cafe was really good. Very covid secure.
d. r.
Couldn't have chosen a better day. The driver was very knowledgeable. Just over 2 hours well spent. Although the wildlife wasn't showing up. We did see a spectacular Golden Eagle and of course the deers. Surrounding landscape was stunning. Plus the tea and coffee shortbread and a dram of whiskey at the top was most welcome due to a cooling wind. I would thoroughly recommend this. We are hoping to return in the Summer. Ps even the 15 year old was smiling😆
R. M.
Fantastic place to visit.
Staff are all very happy and friendly.
Brilliant and educational wee place.
Food in the cafe is great.
Been twice now,and we will visit again on our next trip 👌
J. M. H.
We did the 4x4 off road driving. The guide was like a friendly uncle teaching you. 1.5 hours was long enough to get a good taste. Make sure you are fluent in manual transmission driving before going. Book ahead.
s. s.
Really friendly people the food was lovely and it was lots of fun ...great day
J. P.
If you are on holiday in Scotland, make Highland safaris in Dull one of the first places on your list. Feed the deer, learn about them and the environment and get into a jeep that takes you into the mountains (or forest). This off-road drive in a 4x4 is exciting and you can take a break from watching the road. The excellent staff will make sure you get a once in a lifetime experience and really frame and at the same ad depth to the beautiful sights you will undoubtedly see. They are breathtakingly gorgeous. If you haven't already, you will fall in love with Scotland (or deepen your relationship with this amazing country/region of Perthshire).
Then to top it all off, have some food in the café. Fantastic hearty locally produced meals and snacks, so tasty. The platter had a chutney/pickle so good they should start selling jars of it. Good honest food and cheerful staff. It was all so enjoyable we came back another day even though it was an hours drive away.
D. S.
Went on the Highland Safari tour and it was amazing. Andy was knowledgeable, funny and great with the kids. Was fascinating to see all the deer on the side of the hill.
R. G.
One of my favourite memories of my Scotland holiday. The drive up the mountain to see the views was amazing and the wild deer you can see is superb.
The ranger giving us our tour was friendly and personable with a good knowledge of his subject matter at hand.
I would recommend this day out to anyone it really is a must if your in the area
H. G.
Fantastic trip up in to hills with our guides George and Stuart who were very professional and knowledgeable. Scenery was stunning and was a bit of a shame that the wildlife were keeping their heads down due to the weather.
M. F.
We didn't do a safari, but took the kids to the centre for some playground stuff and deer watching. I can't rate the safaris, but the centre is very pleasant, with a small nature trail and various look-out point. The cafe serves really nice coffee and my daughter got a massive slice of cake, which went down really well. There was a helicopter parked up when we were there, but I could not see tours in that on the pricelist.
G. S.
Friendly staff, fun bike rides on the trails. Could not be better, great stuff.
G. E.
Have been visiting here since its inception probably 15 years ago and coincidentally only this morning for coffee. A thriving business has become established. The staff are exemplarily turned out, courteous in the extreme and in an informal way a great credit to the establishment. Well worth a visit particularly for the younger members of the family!!
D. O.
This place is just amazing. The food is very well priced and the portions certainly don't leave you hungry.
The staff are ridiculously friendly and polite, the wide vary of unsual knock backs on sale in the store is quite impressive.
There's also a nice little outoddor area for children to play, even a small gold panning area.
There's also mountain bikes to rent.
L. M.
We visited the café and shop which was lovely. Food was very tasty with local produce and staff very attentive and helpful. The manager was great at interacting with everyone inside. Very good little gift shop inside. Seemed like lots to entertain kiddies - good playpark and sifting for gold outside. Didn't visit the deer centre as was late in the day.
S. S.
Great tour. Alistair, our guide, was very knowledgeable and friendly. Had a quick bite to eat in their cafe before hand which was hearty with friendly service. The pinzgauer was fun but might choose a LandRover option if we did it again.
J. T.
We had a great afternoon out in the capable hands and driving skills of Jim Scotland who was our guide for the time we were there, he was very informative and utterly entertaining. Well worth a visit and we will certainly be back.
a. h.
Had a wonderful afternoon on the 'Safari'. Jamie, our guide, was very informative and entertaining, which helped to make the whole experience very enjoyable. Unfortunately, we didn't see much in the way of local wildlife but the scenery was well worth the trip. Got to places in the hills and forests that we would never get to in our car. Six of us in all, thrown about in the Land Rover, was an experience in itself and a lot of fun!! We were all very impressed by the Bothy we visited, where Jamie provided coffee, tea, shortbread and a wee dram for those of us who wanted to partake. Would definitely recommend.
g. d.
Had a great day here which included the mountain safari in the morning, lunch at the cafe and the deer centre in the afternoon. Both Alan and Andy, our guides, were great fun and knew there stuff. Well worth a visit and we'll be back to do a longer safari next time.
C. W.
Stopped for a coffee and light bite. Reasonably priced. Ordered toasted pannini with trimmings. Decided to share with partner. They went beyond my expectations by cutting it in half and presenting on two plates with all the trimmings at no extra cost. Very delicious.
L. S.
Great food friendly service
J. B.
A busy centre. The gold panning was fun and the cafe has some lovely cake. Worth stopping in if your in the area.
L. F.
As excellent place to visit in the highlands, you can do such an array of things here. Deer spotting or jeep safari with super knowledgeable guides, pan for gold & gems or simply kick back with a cuppa & some excellent food. Beautiful in summer but stunning in winter.
V. M.
Staff knowledgeable. Under supervision you may feed the deer. The shop and cafe on site are reasonably priced, coffee and cake were good. The Safari was not running at the time we were there.
C. S.
Highly Recommended!! Had a brilliant day! The views are stunning and George our driver really went the extra mile... pardon the pun. If your in the area this is a must book activitie.
A. B.
Great experience, very knowledgeable guide who explained things well and quite willing to answer questions. Stunning scenery. Felt very safe
P. W.
Spent a couple of afternoons here with the kids while staying nearby. Had one boy panning for gold while the other spent time on the bike trail. Then after we had a wander round the nature trail.
The following day we booked a jeep safari and went up into the hills where we saw some deer and osprey fledglings. We used days out vouchers so didn't pay the full price but probably wouldn't have gone on it if we hadn't done this as it's quite expensive. However it was enjoyable and our guide was very knowledgeable.
A. M.
Truly a fantastic experience, turned up an hour before our highland safari to see the other attractions round about and had a wee coffee at the café. We had Colin as a tour guide who clearly loves his job as he knew everything there was to ask and answered with ease. The tour itself was also amazing, we got to go in the massive ATV and took multiple stops for pictures and information about the area. Towards the end of our journey we were taken to a bothy for some tea and a lovely bit of local shortbread, afterwards we got to taste a little bit of Dewars whisky which is also a local brewery. Certainly a trip I will be talking about for a while and would recommend it to anyone!
D. C.
The 2.5 hour Land Rover mountain trek was excellent. Colin was very knowledgable and did his best to keep us entertained. Highly recommended!
D. N.
The beautiful expanse of snow covered mountain from the safety of a professionally driven Range Rover was breathtaking. Jamie knew the answer to every question asked. We saw a herd of hinds in the lower valley and then some following stags crossed in front of us. We followed them with our cameras and binoculars and had an unforgettable experience.

Not to be missed - Scotland at its best - 4x4 Safaris and on the water at Loch Tay with a hugely relaxing visitor centre and red deer. Whatever next? Bet it will be really good. Yes - it's a great place to spend a day with the family.
F. W.
This really is the best place to go in the Aberfeldy area for lunch. Staff are always very lovely and helpful. You can also book highland off-road tours and also feed deer. Good for locals and one off visits
D.
Excellent day out doing the 4x4 driving experience with George as out instructor, highly recommended.

Superb day out with Alan on the hill. Very knowledgeable, good laugh, excellent service and all staff very pleasant
N. W.
Kids had a great time feeding the deer, seeing the owl, and panning for gold. We didn't use the bike trail but the entire site is well managed and run
R. D.
A great afternoon out. Our guide for the mountain safari was Andy who made it a very memorable trip out spotting red deer and four golden eagles while being very informative but keeping it light hearted.
J. M.
Had a great day at the deer centre with the kids. They loved feeding and learning about the deer and meeting Ossian the barn owl.
Will definitely be back to take a safari next time we’re in the area.

Very wet day when visited here as part of coaching holiday. Very disappointed as didn't see anything on a very uncomfortable ride cramped into the jeeps that took us on the safari. However, time spent in the deer park was a delight and well worth a visit.
C. B.
Really friendly staff. Great little shop. Cafe is wonderful (recommend the veggie haggis jacket potato). Great coffee & cake too.
A. W.
Highly recommended visit. The food was amazing and the kids were thoroughly entertained which is half the battle. So many activities for the whole family. We'll definitely be back
O. A.

Had an expectional guided red deer experience. Collin gave us details of the deer and the owl - very insightful and interesting. Feeding the deers is very easy and they are very gentle. Highly recommend coming here!
J. B.

Really enjoyed it and the views were stunning. Our guide Andy was great and knew the area well. Looking out through the top hatch was great fun :)
K. S.
Something a bit different. Take a Safari up into the hills and forest above the center. Lots of interesting information on the red deer and barn owl at the center, and feed the deer. Very informative and friendly staff. Good cafe and gift shop.
L. M.
We had a fantastic day at Highland Safaris, we fed the Red Deer, met the Barn Owl and went on the Mountain Safari. Our guide Colin was wonderful with our elderly parents, very patient and helpful. The safari was really good fun with some beautiful views.
Just one thing regarding the questions and answers on the website! It is confirmed on the website that there are chemical toilets by most of the Bothys, however, we were told on arrival that there are no toilets whilst out on the safaris which was very misleading.
However, this didn't ruin our trip and all in all we had a lovely experience.
M. F.
Brilliant experience and superb lunch in cafe!!!
B. P.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Lots of things to do including: mountain top safari, forest safari, feeding the red deer and learning lots about them, bike hire and gold panning. All surrounded by stunning views!
J. B.
Absolutely fantastic ,,,, brilliant safari , beautiful scenery,,, will be doing this again ,,,,
Y. L.
Brilliant Mountain Safari! Off the beaten track to a bothy. Magnificent scenery, excellent photo opportunities and knowledgeable guide. Time for a cuppa in the Mountain bothy before returning via the forest and some pretty wild tracks!
L. L.
We have had a fantastic day at Highland Safaris doing the off road driving and the Loch Tay cruise. We visit every year and are never disappointed. The staff are fantastically knowledgeable and the new experience of the cruise was brilliant a great addition to the available activities. If you are visiting this beautiful area of Scotland you must visit Highland Safaris.
a. h.
Less of a safari but more of a great jeep ride off road and walk in Highlands. Perfect guide and warming lunch
R. S.

Always a superb day out!
L. M.
Great day! Our 2yr old daughter loved the deers. Can't wait to return for Christmas grotto!
C. R.
We had the Mountain Safari tour. They drive you in a 6wd ex-army truck up to a bothy on the top of the hills, and you usually see a few grouse, deer, red squirrels and birds of prey. Make sure you stand in the passenger seat if you get the chance, you see a lot more.
The cafe was one of the better ones we've been to. A decent fry-up with tasty black pudding and proper square sausage. If you get here early there's some deer kept in the field next door and a small shop.
B. D.
A wee gem of a place. Loads to do for families, such as safaris, deer farm, gold panning , gift shop and a good cafe with hot food and drink. Lovely home baking and not to forget a good play area to keep kids amused .
J. P.
Nice menu, healthy local produce well presented in a unique location
K. G.
We booked and enjoyed both the Loch Tay Safari (10 Sept, '18) and Mountain Safari (13 Sept, 2018). Skipper Jim and our guide Kenny were knowledgeable and humorous. We had a great time boating with them and learning from them. The boat was comfy and the tour was educational and fun.
Our mountain safari guide, Colin, taught us so much about the current eco projects as well as local history. The views were breathtaking. The stop at the bothy for warm drinks, biscuits and whiskey was a lovely touch. Colin was the perfect host.
We would Highly Recommend both tours.
R. D.
Had a great time good panning
P. W.
Fantastic place. Staff very informative. Kids would love a visit here.
b. w.
Used drop at the top for the first time. Highly recommended! Staff all excellent to deal with and very helpful. Can't wait to get back.
R. A.
Took the kids here today, not our first visit though.
We wanted to go to the red deer and owl talk, and when we arrived, met a gent named Tony, he was very chatty.....
Turns out he was great fun and child friendly, trying to engage with and include all the kids, including our infant.
We learnt quite a lot about deer, and not only red deer, then we fed the deer, which the kids loved.
After the feeding we went back inside and were introduced to the owl, and whilst she was a bit distracted, Tony told us a lot about her and what makes the owl such a good bird of prey.
Afterwards we sat in the sun and had a picnic whilst the kids played in the park.
Previously when there, the oldest did some gold panning which was good fun from what we remember.
So friendly staff, fun activity and all set in beautiful scenery.
L. F.
Great visit, only for something to eat in the cafe. The soup was gorgeous, and men in kilts, what's not to like 🤭 …
H. M.
Excellent location for family day out. Lovely cafe, great experience in the deer centre and informative, friendly staff. We'll be back
G. M.
The deer centre is great you get a talk that tells you all about the breeding antlers trimming and alook at all stages of development including feeding the deer then in to 4 by 4s and up into mountains to spot wild deer and on this occasion our land rover actually saw some and yes back at centre don't forget the food beautifully cooked fresh for you
M. D.
Amazing views high up the mountains. Cup of tea in a cabin and friendly driver/guide. Good amenities in the base camp. Staff are very friendly.
J. M.
We love this place for just lunch and a shop. Always freshly made and tasty. Staff very friendly too. You can also see the deer over the fence.
S. M.
The fauna and flora safari in the mountain with Highland Safaris is a brilliant activity for groups!
I highly recommend the experience if you are looking for a fun adventure of 2hours in the mountains. We went with a group of 8 people for my partner's birthday and we enjoyed very much to be in the same "car" to do the safari. In fact, we had a Pinzgauer 6x6 (you know those giant military ops transportation).
Our guide was very knowledgeable and we actually had the chance to spot some stag, birds and other animal groups on the mountains thanks to the binoculars. This safari brought us to beautiful surroundings and we enjoyed amazing points of view on the valley.
The highlight of the activity was our tea time in the small hut in the middle of nowhere where we enjoyed some prosseco, whisky and short bread to celebrate.
A memorable activity for all of us!
D. G.
Lovely food at the little eatery. The little shop is also lovely.

Going to or past Dull (twinned with Boring, OR)? You can stop here! Grab some tea and lunch and a fridge magnet of the sign to Dull. Your kids can play outside, the parking is free, the service is kind, the prices are normal, and the food and coffee is fine. Hot the spot nicely.
B. B.

Highland Safaris provide Land Rover nature trips throughout the year. My trip was done in the snow covered hills near Aberfeldy and provided a well run and most informative trip involving viewing red deer in their natural habitat. Guides provided details of the hills and the local area plus explaining the animal life and flora and fauna of the region. The operators base provided a good range of food and drink plus books covering all aspects of the trip. Of interest to all members of the average family.
P. G.
Great staff, seasonal Safari was fun, though the vehicle used was a little uncomfortable. The views from the to of the hill are fantastic, the wildlife is wild and unpredictable.
