Reviews of Pavilion Theatre

Excellent service. Food was delicious. I had scallops with a side of chips, followed by cheesecake. Scallop dish looked miserly, but turned out to be enough without feeling too full up. The flavours were lovely though. Great restaurant with a more laid back cafe-style atmosphere, and within walking distance of theatre land. Love it.

Really enjoyed our visit to this theatre on 29th January to see the Pantomine Aladdin matinee performance. We were a large group of older people with mixed mobility. Staff were very helpful and had instructed our party to speak to a staff member on arrival and they would allow entry by side door, thus avoiding stairs. Friendly, courteous and helpful staff helped is access our seating safely. The theatre was well decorated for the age of the building. Accessible toilet available too.
Enjoyed the panto too.....Great performance with skilled actors/ dancers.....
d. m.
Me and the family seen Aladdin tonight and from start to finish it was absolutely fantastic, would highly recommend taking the kids and for the adults there is always a few jokes especially for them. GREAT SHOW!!! Well done the pavilion. Xx
s. s.
What a brilliant time we had at panto this year. As always the cast are so funny. And entertaining. A Christmas must have ..
S. C.
Theatre was fine if a bit tired, but there are horribly cramped seats. I fit as an average sized person but there was a lady behind me who could not fit comfortably for a two hour show as the seats are not large enough for anyone even slightly above average. This really needs to be made clear when booking and should be considered in future as an area for improvement.

Well what can I say, another fabulous night out at the Pavilion in Glasgow. Thanks to everyone at Pryde for organising it. A great big thanks to everyone at the Pavilion. What a show !!!! It was stupendous. So if you are looking for a night out that's the place to go. Good company and a belly laugh what else could you want again a big THANKS to everyone. ♥️♥️♥️

Great panto as alway we loved every minute I was there with my 15year old son & he loved every minute which is hard with teenagers lol get performance for all the cast & the river city cast all brilliant laugh right the way through the whole performance. We come every year at panto & will definitely be back again next year thanks again Pavilion theatre glasgow for getting us the Christmas fun back as you always do. Good luck with everything for 2023. 🥰🍀❤️😊
A. M.
Alladin panto excellent. Group of 16. 8 kids and 8 adults. Everyone enjoyed it. We'll done to all in the show.

Absolutely brilliant show tonight in Glasgow's Pavillion theatre 👏👏👏 The Stylistics ......Great venue, sound & lighting excellent & good seat .....canny ask anymore than that 👌.
J. F.
Brilliant show as always. Hidden stars are the staff . Love their attitude. and can never be more helpful
G.
First panto in god knows how long, took the kids to see Cinderella! Really good entertainment, loud as usual and it was a really good laugh. Just a little long I have to say. It was nice to see the theatre again after the fire, track and trace required at entrance.
K. B.
Went here for Jurassic Live with my kids. Place was very tidy and staff were lovely. Only negative was toilets were very small.
B. G.
The pantomime was first class again. Pavilion, you never fail to deliver venue, and staff are quality
A. N.
Lovely night in the theatre. Very cosy with good atmosphere. Comedian wasn't to bad either.
A. G.
Fantastic night at Pavillion last night..had pleasure of meeting cast after the show in Atholl pub across the road,, what lovely and friendly people they were,, really took time to speak with us,, thanks for a good night 😘
K. C.
Another fantastic night at the theatre.
I love going to the Pavilion Theatre because audience participation is encouraged 😁
C. M.
Show was great (Paul chowdhry) but theatre is quite poor. Can't have a drink at my seat which I paid for?! Very very poor!
M. S.
It was a fantastic experience, the panto was full of joy and laughter x
J. M.
Excellent theatre with helpful staff and beautiful architecture. Very easy disabled access too. First class.
w. f.
The theatre looked as if it had been refurbished the seating and decor were first class the seats we had for the show was excellent very clean and staff were polite would recommend as a venue
C. B.
Went to see Aladin today brilliant show everyone in it was great
L. R. E.
Theatre was okay but we had seats in the stalls but we were directed via the bar. I chose the stalls so that my elderly aunt didn't have to climb stairs.
I was disappointed with John Bishop using so much foul language.
Seats were a little tight but adequate.
A. S.
First time I'd ever been. Went to see Nish Kumar. It's quite lovely inside. Very pretty. All the seating is close to the stage and provided for a good atmosphere for a comedy act.
S. 4. M.
Lovely wee theatre, comfy seats, nice atmosphere.
T. M.
The Pavilion is a nice looking old building but it’s also very dated, if you over 6ft then sitting in most of the front row seats isn’t going to work.
I was surprised there were no social distancing built in to the booking system, many people sat next to each other with people in front and behind, very squashed together. We had seats in row C but as I am over 6ft tall and quiet a large built person, I found the seats tight and my legs had to encroach infront of the seat next to me which was then occupied so we moved to empty seats up the back and took up 3 seats on give us more room.
The comedian Craig Hill was very funny, though at times difficult to understand what he was saying but a good night regardless of the poor seating arrangements.
S. C.
Great venue brilliant staff and security are very friendly an helpful
J. R.
Very narrow seats. Upper balcony not recommended for acrophobics like me
a. m.
The staff are excellent. I'm disabled and the help I received was outstanding
F. M.
Great family shows. Lots of laughs. Friendly staff.
B. S.
Brilliant night as usual at the Pavilion Thank you 😊
M. M.
One of Glasgows gems in the theatre world this a auditorium of the finest I've seen wether it's a play pantomime or a live show also available is a lounge bar plus plenty of other bar around outside this venue well worth having a swatch
A. A.
Saw Jurassic Live wi the wean, great venue.
K. L.
If you are looking for a great night out with lots of laughs get tickets to see what I can only describe as the best pantomime we have all ever been too!! Well done to all involved it was a fabulous show. Great building only thing is that if your sitting in the upper circle there is a lot of stairs to get up to your seats.
A. M.
Lovely theatre. Friendly staff
S. H.
Beautiful quaint old fashioned theatre.
E. M.
Went to see the stylistic, brilliant show, pity no one paid attention to the tannoy that states masks must be worn unless you are exempt, it would appear 90 % of the audience was exempt !!!, spoiled things, covid is still out there people.
E. M.
Beautiful venue with great atmosphere. Stunning architecture. Excellent staff. Good bar.
j. c.
Brilliant night uplifting what me and hubby needed and bar man made us feel special and looked after us very positive time thank you
M. B.
This is a fantastic venue. Steeped in history and an amazing place for young and old alike. Staff were very helpful.
H. H.
Had 2 young children up in rear balcony very steep row B we had a restricred view which wasnt stated ?i think they need to adress this and its too much for young kids being up there the chairs are tiny my back side was killing me after 30mins very uncomfortable show was really good but some things need to be made out loud and clear when booking
H. S.
Went to see pinocchio on boxing night. I would highly recommend all the cast were fantastic. Side splitting funny!!! All the family loved it 9 of us. We will be back next year!
R. S.
Went to see totally Tina last Friday and it was brilliant
Good to see theatre opening back up .
No one asked for covid passport though .or track and trace app .
G. M.
Fantastic night at the panto. Christmas 🎄 eve is always a great night.
Keep up the Great work Ian and Co.
b. r.
It was absolutely marvelous, the cast were brilliant,we all enjoyed it very much,Buttons was so energetic and so funny,
D. D.
Quirky old fashioned theatre with lots of character. Seats a bit restrictive with leg room nut to be expected in a historic building like that.
C. S.
Great venue and good old fashioned variety shows
G. H.
Had a fantastic night seeing the return of Francis and josie for my mum and dads 60 th wedding anniversary. Never stop laughing also Michelle and Jersey boys were amazing . All staff very helpful a pleasant . Well done pavilion.
S. M.
Great family day out ,,,,only thing air con,,,at the back right on my dad's neck,,,second half moved on a bit but all in all fantastic ☺️☺️☺️
L. M.
I would have rated 5 stars as the staff are very friendly and helpful but ive given 4 stars because Management have not properly thought out the seats/area that they use for people who are in wheelchairs, as i am. I was unable to see the last 20/15 mins of Totally Tina, which was brilliant because the audience in front of the disabled area were standing up dancing, singing etc... so myself and the other disabled people could not see the stage! Linda McGovern
K. B.
Great day at jurrasic live!
j. l.
Great night out to see T. Rextasy in the pavilion theatre Glasgow. Superb show as always and the venue wasn't bad either 😜
R. J.

I had booked tickets for a show in may at the pavillion staff called me due to it being cancelled as I wasn't in left me a message to call back. Called back got a member of staff working from home that offered me an immediate refund. A really great service at this time. Thank you.
S. W.
Great night seeing Ian sterling. Great to be able to get back to the theatre
A. Q.
Absolutely Brilliant I haven't been for many years and I still love it as much as I did as a child brought back great memories xxxx
M. L.
Went to the Christmas pantomime for the 5th year running and really enjoyed it, they put on a great show every year. The cast play to the audience which makes it even more of a laugh. Well worth going.
L. S.
Great pantomime kids loved it
P. G.
Lower budget fun shows and regular returning acts each year. Old tradional style theatre still has some magic and not too large so good views to stage throughout
H. L.
Just been to Santa Claus is coming to town. Absolutely brilliant this is my 3rd year going to Pavilion panto and just when you think it couldn't get better it does. All the cast pure dead brilliant. If you've not been you dont know what your missing only a week to go don't miss it.
M. S.
We had a fantastic time at The Pavilion. Brilliant show Cinderella. Well done to everyone.
D. R.
Seen Pinocchio tonight with a group of friends ( all adults!)
Funny from start to finish , best panto I have seen in a long time
Highly recommended , will definitely be an annual event !
J. W.
Went to see a vision of Elvis. Elvis was great shame about the staff! I witnessed a female being handled by a male member off staff all because she was dancing and not sitting in her seat. There was even a fan dressed as Elvis put out!
Elvis even said he might be next to be put out. Cmon Pavilion no one was being aggressive or causing trouble, the only thing they were guilty of was having a good time. Your staff over reacted and had a stinking attitude.
E. M.
Love it was there to see the fantastic Trextasy
M. O.
Great staff welcoming warm friendly
N. P.
Great wee night so funny
C. M.
Been in Glasgow loads of times but never here was really surprised how beautiful this building has been maintained a credit to the people behind the scenes here as building is over 115 years old, well trained staff and easy layout meant quick exits from show after it finished, the building is stetped in history of old acts from the past which are displayed in posters in foyer, they should or could maybe in the future do tours of the building Inc all those old acts memoberlia,
J. K.

Saw Jimoien great show x spoiled by the tiny lumppy uncomfortable seats OMG emergency repairs required. If your over a size 14 forget it . Or taller than 6 ft
D. S.
Beautiful old theatre. Love the decor. This theatre has been lovingly preserved and offers audiences a variety of types of show at affordable prices.
I. S.

Excellent theatre for watching performances. Almost all seats have great views and prices are always brilliant

Decent disabled access on Renfield Street. This could be a lot better though, as it is quite steep both inside and on the outside of the access door.
