We had an absolutely brilliant day hiking across the Brecon Beacons taking in 13 (cheeky extra 3 in there!) peaks as we went. The day went like a well oiled machine thanks to Dave and his team, yet lovely and relaxed at the same time. We had so much fun and spent most of the day laughing. The massive smiles are still on our faces as we thump back down to reality on a Monday morning. This is the second event I've done with Dave and I am looking forward to my next one. I cannot recommend Dave enough, get signed up with him now for whatever outdoor activity you're after!

This is the second challenge I have completed with Dave. It was absolutely incredible . I had such a great time meeting new people and there was lots of laughter. The Toubkal trip with Dave (and a lovely bunch of people) was fabulous and we enjoyed everything about it! We had Jamie as our instructor – he was excellent - super friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. They tailored the course exactly to what we wanted to achieve. Had a really good day yesterday with an into to trad climbing course. The instructor Kevin was able to tailor the day to our needs, helping us work with the kit we had and advising us on improving for the future. I felt the course was very well run, safe and personal as well as being informative. Excellent, fun day of trad climbing in the Wye Valley with Dan via Dave Talbot's company. On the admin side, Dave was impressively responsive to all our queries and was also swift on checking in re how everything went. On the climbing side, Dan was great company (so many jaw dropping stories) and managed to pack in a lot into just a day of climbing against the wonderful backdrop of the Wye Valley (a couple of short sport routes; a thorough refresh of trad climbing basics including lowering down, belay set up, gear placement; and just the right level grade for a low level multi-pitch to give us the confidence of being able to do everything ourselves).

A group of three of us had an Intro to Outdoor climbing course with Kevin. It was a simply awesome day! One of the group went from no roped experience at all, to confidently lead climbing and belaying. Kevin was an excellent instructor and an all-round great guy. On the organisation side Robyn was great, with quick responses and getting everything sorted at short notice. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This company are amazing, I did a charity abseil yesterday to raise money for the local hospitals. When I signed up I knew it would be a real challenge as I am scared of edges, but I wanted to push myself to do something different and raise money. This team are amazing, they could see I was nervous and they really looked out for me. I said about 4 times, I cannot do it, even stood on the edge, and they encouraged me and told me I could, and I did!!! It was scary but amazing, I could not have done it without Dave stood at the top telling me its okay and I can do it. They are a totally professional, amazing team, and I would recommend then to anyone that wants to abseil but is a bit unsure about it, you will get the support to help you over come your fears and do it! Brilliant experience, brilliant team! Thank you so much!

Dave and Robyn guided a group of us to four 4000+m peaks in the Atlas Mountains, including Toubkal - the highest in North Africa. They were always full of energy and continually kept the team motivated. You were never in doubt that they were fully prepared for all eventualities, using ropes when required and even having a foam roller for those of us with tight muscles! On top of this, they were always teaching us important mountain skills, with demonstrations and giving everyone the chance to practice these skills in a safe and fun but relevant environment. I also thought they were excellent at tailoring the experience to different peoples wants and needs. A personal example: i was keen to learn more about ice-climbing. Dave had clearly noted this and took the time to discuss extra ice-axe techniques with me, even hanging out by a frozen waterfall at the end of a long day to teach me a few skills in-depth! Without a doubt my favourite adventure holiday of the year - i'm already looking to book another one with Dave in the New year! Highly recommended.

I went on a group trip to Slovenia where Dave was one of the two mountain guides we had for the few days over which we planned to summit Mt Triglav in the Julian Alps. Although mother nature was very much against us in the form of torrential rain, thunderstorms and lightening - Dave had several options as a backup plan which he posed back to the group to decide. We managed to scale some waterfalls via ferrata, take a trip to Lake Bohinj, and then ascended partway up Triglav before admitting a soggy defeat some hours later. We all had a ton of fun, and really appreciated our guides being able to think on their feet and still give us 3 days of mountain madness :D

Here at The Ipswich Hospital Charity we organised a Charity Abseil, Dave and his team were the company who hosted it and what can I say?! They were professional in the lead up, ensuring our estates team here at the hospital were happy, giving me in the charity team the information I needed for participants and tips on how to organise the days. On the weekend they were fully committed to the safety of our staff, volunteers and most importantly the participants. They added an element of fun in the training and kitting up which continued on the roof. The sense of comradery and banter between the participants and Dave's team was felt by all. With particularly nervous people they took the time to ease their fears and everyone made it down the building finishing with a smile and a sense of achievement. I want to say a BIG thank you to Dave and his team for making this event, not only a success, but so fun too! Would definitely recommend them to others thinking of hosting a charity event and will certainly be looking to them for any future extreme events we are planning.

I completed the 10 Peaks Brecon Beacon Challenge last Saturday. It was a tough day but was good fun with the different people in the group and felt assured by the experienced instructors running the challenge. They knew the route well and the day was really well thought out. There were a few stops to break up the 9 hour hike, a support vehicle at different check points to quickly top up water, food or change clothes etc and Dave is really bubbly and gives you lots of encouragement. He even baked cakes for the event. I would definitely recommend this company especially if you fancy getting outdoors on an affordable adventure with likeminded people but with the safety of an experienced guide. You wont be disappointed.

Just finished a "Learn to lead/sport climb outdoors" course with Dave and I've got to say how appreciate I was of Dave for the day. My brother and I came from an indoor top roping background and were quite worried about our lack of experience in the great outdoors and lead climbing safely. Dave explained in an email that the key is getting the basics and theory correct and getting the mileage in to gain confidence and he was absolutely right! We were both really impressed with how Dave took us from complete novices to confident beginners! Dave went over and above what we were expecting, from starting with the absolute basics where we wanted to check our existing habits with him and we were better able to correct ourselves and understand why these processes are safe. I think a lot of climbing courses we have done before are instructed at a very basic level and aimed towards children, and Dave's style of instructing was able to meet us at our level and was a great balance of knowledge and experience, Dave picked a really good day and location for the climbing which made the day that much more enjoyable. During the day we tried lots of different scenarios giving us really good experience, we also had the opportunity to try different belay devices and other equipment and Dave was very helpful in going beyond the basics to slightly more advanced knowledge which will be very useful in the future, and also gives us more confidence that if we can overcome problems on our own and really how we should be thinking in order to have fun and climb safely. It was a really great day, Dave was very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly and was really fun to have around whilst also instilling lots of knowledge in us and gave us a great experience of real outdoor climbing and I must say he managed to encourage us on even when we were quite high up in a desperate situation, which at the time I was thinking "Dave, I am really stuck" but he was really good at instilling the confidence to keep pushing on, which is something I think will stay with us for the rest of our climbing journey. Thanks Dave!

Myself and 2 friends did a 4 day course on multi-pitch climbing in Snowdonia which was excellent. We wanted to climb as a party of three and Dave was very helpful in finding a guide that could help us with this logistical challenge. The day itself was great fun and well organised, providing all the support we needed (including photos and cake!) We had a great day of beginners rock climbing at Symonds Yat with Dave Talbot Adventure Events. Our instructor Alec was incredibly experienced, knowledgeable and patient. His professionalism and expertise made us feel very safe and secure. Despite being beginners, we were a mixed ability group and he catered very well for all of our needs. We enjoyed the mixture of climbing, abseiling and scrambling. Even though we didn’t have great weather, Alec’s local knowledge of the area allowed him to organise the day really well and keep us out of the rain, always finding us the driest rocks to climb. He encouraged us to reach our potential and we even climbed the famous Longstone Pinnacle. It was an excellent day and we would really recommend booking Dave Talbot Adventure Events.

I recently completed the 2021 Malvern trail half run by Dave Talbot. What an excellent event. From the off it was evident what a friendly bunch Dave and his team were. Absolutely fantastic, can't fault any of them, all encouraging and enthusiastic. The course, was fantastic, after 10k it really ramped up as described in the course description ! Certainly not easy but achievable. I am 54, my wife the same age. Far from youngsters but we loved it. I was an hour behind the winner, so need to adjust my training for next year slightly !! There was no time pressure to finish and my wife found that a good thing as she was a bit worried about timings but all finishers were welcomed in with the bells & whistle just the same, first or last. Views from on top of the hills had to be seen to be believed. The effort was certainly worth it and we felt a massive sense of pride once the race was conquered, and got a nice medal & Tshirt as a reminder. We will be back !

Earlier on today, meself and stepson abseiled 220ft down Canonteign waterfalls in Devon raising some funds for the Royal Marines charity. Well done to everyone who took part. Top notch. Mr Talbot's crew are a very professional, amicable and well mannered bunch. Are obviously all highly trained and enjoy what they do. Any nerves were instantly put at ease. Had an excellent experience on a two day Trad Lead course. Dave was very responsive and helpful with everything beforehand (and afterwards), and our instructor, Danny, tailored every aspect of the course to be precisely what we were looking for. Could not fault the local knowledge, gear provided, relaxed approach, wider subject knowledge, company, or, really, any other aspect. My husband and I were supported to achieve more than we'd expected, whilst feeling safe at every turn. Definitely finished the second day happy to go out and tackle simple trad routes independently now, which was exactly what we'd set out to learn. Look a outdoor sport climbing course with DTAE. It was great. There was a mix of experience but instructor Dan pitched the course at the right level for everyone. Dan managed the crag availability and timing really well and gave us all some extra experience and threw in some extra coaching for some other new skills. A certainly feel that after this day, my climbing ability leveled up. Felt safe all the time too.

Learnt to lead (sport) climb with these guys and they were brilliant! My mate and I wanted to make the move from bouldering and some indoor top roping to lead climbing outside. Dave was really helpful with any questions we had beforehand and was really clear about what instruction could be offered so we felt confident to give it a go. The course itself was ace! Our instructor, Dean, was clearly very experienced and taught us loads. We felt very safe and well looked after as a result of his clear and helpful instruction. Importantly though, we had a fun and exciting day, learning to lead climb outside as Dean was a friendly guy too! I would definitely recommend Dave Talbot for any climbing courses and we will look at doing any further climbing courses through these guys! They very quickly helped us feel confident and safe enough to have a go at doing this ourselves, which we have done since. So a massive thank you to Dave Talbot Adventures (and Dean!) for helping open up a whole new world of great outdoor climbing for us!

Did the Snowdonia 10 peaks challenge. What an experience! Easily one of the most rewarding things I’ve done in years. Great bunch people running the operations and participating in the group challenge. It was well planned and plenty of good humour and banter keeping everyone going through. Met some really interesting people. The second big incline was a killer but everyone seemed to recover once up there with the views. I’ll defiantly be interested in further challenges. Track support was really good plenty of food set up and great to change clothes and top up supplies. Dave is a top bloke!

Just had a great day out with Dave - he took our bunch of guys of varying fitness levels and experience through a cracking day scaling the climbs of Avon Gorge, and abseiling down. He judged the group perfectly, clearly knew his stuff. I felt safe at all times, but very challenged too and I'm aching today! We have recently worked with Dave and his team on our 3 Peaks Fundraising Challenge. From start to finish he and his team were great, we had a group of 44 to get up and down the 3 Peaks safely, which I'm pleased to say was not only achieved, but was also done in a very professional way. It would be an understatement to say the Abberley Hall Clock Tower Abseil event exceeded my expectations. I went for it because I have a very high regard for the work that the charity (Sight Concern) do, I love the building, and I thought it might cure my fear of heights. But two things really impressed me: 1 several of the other participants were registered blind (so my remaining fear went immediately), and 2 Dave Talbot and his team were exceptional in putting everyone at ease. He explained to everyone exactly how to proceed down the rope in a precise and clear manner and had a rapport that instilled confidence and humour. This was no mean feat when many of the participants - had little or no sight, and were taking part for the first time. My only gripes - I couldn't find a glove that fitted me, and I should have done this before reaching the age of 67.

Robyn was our instructor for a full-day multi-pitch course. She did a fantastic job of getting us from single-pitching (with different levels of experience) to multi-pitching and we felt comfortable following her advise. Highly recommended.
