A. A. V.I attended a work do. Staff were great and welcoming, and the venue was amazing. Only downside was that the jug of water we got had some random bits in it, and as such had to ask for it to be replaced. This was handled quite efficiently along with an apology. From time to time things don't go according to plan, but they recovered the service very well and have very good waiters / waitresses who are a credit for their brilliant customer service.
K. T.Bongo's bingo was an absolute blast! Can't even remember how long it's been since we had a night like that! Absolutely recommend it! The only thing I feel is a bit naughty, is the price of the drinks! There's no need to price drinks like that, especially with the sheer amount of people that fill the building.
Doors open at 6 and I would strongly suggest getting there before then, to make sure you get a floor seat! That way you're in the centre of everything. Also, go to the toilet before there's a break, otherwise it's mayhem! Other than that, top marks! Loved it and will defo be back!

C. D.Went to bongo bingo here for NYE ,great building ,surprisingly big inside. Drinks a little on the pricey side but we expected that. Plenty of toilets which were clean. We would definitely go again to a show here. And bongo bingo was great fun, highly recommended!

S. K.When there's a function here the NCP car park down the road is usually free which is a great help. The place itself is very spacious, the decor is nice, the toilets are clean.

N. B.I love this place, I remember visiting as a teenager when it was the Odeon cinema, it’s such a stunning Art Deco building that I’m so glad has been kept and is being looked after. The NCP car park is extortionate though!

R. W.If you want to let loose, have a wild chaotic and mad night. You gotta book tickets for Bongo Bingos! A 4 hour rave mixed in with bingo with the chance of some wacky prizes!
If it's your first time, you have an idea what it'll be like...and then it's very much the opposite of that!

B.From what looked a grim exterior in the early morning rain again force winds was transformed into a spectacular Stella light and sound experience with a gentle slope from the bar to the dance floor an accessible view was achieved by the entire 350+ crowd to spectate the inaugural Bowls England Award Evening

A. T.A huge place inside with an upstairs balcony area. I attended Comic Con in the Athena however i have been to formal party during Christmas a few years ago. There is a bar that sells alcohol and soft drinks plus bar snacks. I did not see any lift for less able people to get to the upper floor. There is no parking owned by the Athena but there is some street parking nearby and a NCP Multi Storey car park on Rutland Street.
A. R.It was a good conference hall. It can accommodate almost 1000 people. Has got balcony and the ground floor. Stage is a good one too.

J. V.It's great to see the old odean cinema used for venues and loved the vegan festival but would of preferred to see people cooking or more tasting of things

F. F.Had a great evening here on Friday. Food was beautiful. Plenty of security staff so felt really safe. All the waiting abd bar staff were very polite too. There was a facility to pay for drinks at the table using a QR code. Plenty of toilets abd they were clean and tidy. Had cirque du soleil style entertainment too.

P. B.What a fabulous venue. The way the floor is layered was done really well. The foyer is huge and lovely. Dance floor was a nice size. The tables seated 10 people but there was a nice space between each person you had room either side and you didn't feel like you were elbowing the person you sat next too.
B.Great venue for a function. Good was really good. The best mass catering I have ever had.
K.Mad night at Bongo Bingo was a fun night if you like dancing and drinking, who doesn't ! Every one seemed to have great fun. Not Bingo as we know it if you get frustrated waiting for the next number it's not for you !

Plenty of nearby parking in the way of car parks.
They have a large entrance hall with a good sized bar upstairs. The main toilets are upstairs but they do have some more downstairs along with disabled toilets.
There is a disabled access ramp, and access to most of the building is possible for a disabled person.
The entertainment hall can cope with large groups and has a whole array of seating possibilities, there is also a smaller downstairs bar.
The stage is huge and allows for some spectacular shows to be hosted.
The staff here are top notch, excellent service, support and professionalism.

U. K.This is a pace close to the centre. On a day when there is a programme going on, parking around here would be a challenge. They do however provide alternate parking options but the spaces are quite limited. There is paid parking around but the parking places are quite narrow. The hall is huge with a balcony. The bar there is decent and helps wile away time. The stage is big too.
J.Great place, good location. Wouldn't advise using the NCP car park because the prices are extortionate. There's cheaper parking on the road or if you don't mind a 5-10minute walk there is a cheaper car park off Granby Street. I also wouldn't advise buying drinks at this venue. A double Jameson and coke will set you back £14. Apart from this the staff were really friendly and it was a great night.
M. E.Went here for a work Christmas party in December. The place was decorated OK and looked quite festive, however when they called us for dinner they corralled us into the area in front of the room and kept us waiting for 40 minutes while we were packed in.
The food was good with alright service, the entertainment actually entertaining (rare for these sorts of events) and the DJ wasn't bad at all.
H. B.The main area of the Athena is brilliant for presentations and groups, as there is good visibility from all angles and the speaker system allows for both music and speech. I visited the Athena for an awards evening, and the ambiance is friendly and not overwhelming. Aside from this, the other services seems enclosed and limited, but for most needs I would certainly recommend this venue.

H. E. F.I have used the Athena now for a couple of events and I have to say the staff are amazing. Excellent customer service and they always go the extra mile to help you.
The Athena itself is a great party venue, and because this is all they do the team are experts at making sure your night runs without a glitch.
We went for the 3 course meals option, and the quality of the food was worth every penny.
The waiting staff were also really lovely, and Georgia who hosted the night made sure I could relax as the event organiser and enjoy the night myself.
I can’t rate Georgia, Hira, and the Athena team enough.
I would defiantly recommend the Athena to friends and family.
