Reviews of Copeland Park & Bussey Building
S. T.
Great venue in a vibrant part of the neighborhood. Feels like a hidden gem as you have to go through back alleys to get to it, but impossible to find without checking maps.
Only problem was that during the event I visited, some vendors inside the main warehouse building were struggling to get internet connection so couldn't use their card machines to take payments.
L. L.
Great little complex of food places 💯👍🏽
Roof top bar and gym there too.
s.
Good venue for an exhibition, too cold in the winter - more could be done to resolve this.
Didn't advertise our show on their website - so this was a big disappointment.
G. T.
First time visit to Copeland and great to see the buzz of creatives on site. A number of places to eat as well as a gym among other things. Looking forward to going back again. Recommended as a place for people to meet up.
P. C.
Visited for the hot sauce society festival! Not a huge space, but they made the most of what they had available. Drafty and a bit cold, but what else can you expect from a warehouse? Festival itself was awesome :)
C.
Really cool area with loads going on including bars, raves, a plant shop, ceramics studio, street food, independent businesses, and home to the Pexmas Christmas market
C. M.
One of my favorite buildings in Peckham! Best time to go is Peckham Festival in September
G. M.
We visited for the Hot Sauce Festival & the venue was great. The Sake bar there was super cool too!
P. D.
Great venue for the Hot Sauce festival.
T. M. B.
Very nice place I have had the best gnocchi
And the best meat Italian style .....
M. C.
Always busy with a hand picked selection of live music and dj's on every floor.
L.
Love it. So many bars and outside seating to explore. More relaxed and chilled than Brixton Village or Pop. Love it.
s. “. v. t.
Rustic and interesting stalls etc..shame that both approaches are blighted and spoilt by graffiti like much of Peckham Town Centre
M. S.
Tyler was a total bust. Shut down by Police. No security but seemed like it was never happening. No stage...no PA. Weird but loved that Tyler roadblocked Peckham without even turning up!!😂😂
C. W.
Had a great day out here.a community place with bars & a restaurant & local business.easy to find from the train station.
s. t.
Really good vibe with plenty of places to eat and drink, great sunset views.
E. P.
Awesome place to be very much the talk of the neighbourhood, little expensive but the views on both rooftops are amazing.
S. L.
Quirky place full of character, we enjoyed our time there. Some areas felt very run down including what staff themselves described 'the lift of horror' and the toilets in desperate need of a revamp
A. A.
An absolute sweat box of a venue but has an eclectic unique feel. I had the privilege of attending the Boiler festival was super dope apart from actually being a "boiler room" it was extremely warm on the inside and somewhat unbearable at times.
S. A.
I went to go see the Bidhaar launch!! Great space. Even better Budhaar
J. R.
Fantastic space right in the heart of Peckham. Something for everyone.
P. F.
Went there for the hot sauce festival. Good space, but portaloos, other than that great potential.
c. b.
Let us use the lift you have to climb about 9set of stairs to reach to the top exhausting, very cold bring a jacket as the heating lamps weren't working not one 🤔🤔great venue for insta pics👍🏾
R. L.
A great view from the bar on the top floor and there's always something interesting/ unexpected taking place. You'll probably have the best time here when the weather is fine (but everyone else will probably have the same idea).
We love going to the ceramics markets hosted here as well as popping into the art exhibitions. The bars are great and you the food has always been really good.
x.
Great place to host events or visit, seems to always be something interesting going on locally and loads of people come to peckham just to visit. Been a few times for different events or stores that were held here. Will definitely be revisiting
c. y.
Very cool and lovely atmosphere it's a shame the unit is going to be turned into a climbing centre
P. M.
Bussey Building Flea Market. Worth a visit.
J. D.
Very cool spot for events with perfectly fine facilities. Went there for a hot sauce festival which these surroundings fitted with very well. There's a few record shops when coming from the station worth checking out too.
J. A.
Great place to hang out. Went to Mike's and the Sake place. Both really good and friendly staff
L. T.
RoofTop Cinema is really and the Vegan Pizza was soooooooo good.
R. O.
I lost my phone here and the bar staff helped me to find it. Would definitely recommend coming here, the crowd is mostly young/old and they both cater for all. A nice, friendly atmosphere plus there karoke nights are the best in South East!
K. M.
Love this place from the rooftop bar to everything else in Copeland - sassy and fun
M. A.
Love this venue allways got something g good going on there
M. A. H.
Gosh it was busy but we loved the bustle. Dog friendly and enjoyable flea market!
J. P.
Very quirky and lively
A. P.
Great place with great events. Security staff are not the friendliest though... we witnessed them being really rude to the person in front of us on the queue.
D. W.
Wonderful venue and experience.
T. N.
Went for peckham rye music festival, had a good time in the sun with friends.
S. H.
Very cool part of London... They may have served us a little to much wine judging by the way my head felt this morning...
A. A. W.
Came here for Wingjam 2019 and its a great space with a real community feel to it. The rooftop bar has a great view too. There are some hidden gems in the surrounding units too.
E. R.
Amazing event. UK Vegans Of Colour. Excellent vegan food stalls and vegan beauty products. Can't wait for the next one!
A. C.
Bussey rooftop bar is great. Lovely atmosphere and views
n. T.
Great place for drinks
N.
This place is a hidden gem. Very lively and bustling on the weekend, always worth a visit. Various festivals take place here also which gives the place even more character
T. F.
An interesting collection of Hipster, Artisan and Art business and practices in one place. It has the typical run-down industrial chic that you would associate with these themes. I have visited the park twice, once for a monthly ceramics fair, and once for an Art college's final year illustration exhibition. There is metered parking close by, and it is not that far from Peckham Rye's high street
M. B.
There for the Cask 2020 festival, a good venue, plenty of space and easy to get to from Peckham Rye Overground station.
M. W.
Great views obviously and a decent range of cheap eats and drinks
A. B.
Good views while taking in good music and drinks
M. B.
Great exhibition space but all a bit too try hard hipster with grotty around the edges. The Etsy local made fair was a bit disappointing with vendors who seemed a bit desperate. It was just too craft rather than art.
S. R.
Out door cinema right in the heart of Peckham rye relax in the rooftop bar before taking in the latest blockbuster
R. Y.
Quite a lot of places to eat and entertainment/services being run here. Pretty family friendly. Loads of healthy food options which is a bonus!
w. m.
This building has a very creative vibe and surprisingly the common space were very clean.
s. I.
Fun place. Lots of different activities .
O. B.
Nice building, got quite a few good events going on
J. l.
Friendly people Very spacious good for different venues..
C. R.
Four floors of tunes with (usually) a good variation so I can usually find something to please. Staff is very professional. Gets a bit stupidly hot in the summer months, but you can always cool off outside.
A. P.
Brilliant vintage fair well worth checking out. Next one is July 25 2021
O. L.
Where the cool kids go in peckham. The street food on the weekends is very good and there are sometimes events like markets, pop up art stuff and gigs. Bit bleak in the winter...
A. G.
Gorgeous views of London. The drinks are an ok price and there's high demand to get in so book!
I.
Quite fun but they must have oversold the event because there were so many people on the stairs it was actually becoming unsafe. You couldn't get down or up, and everyone was getting mad because they had paid for tickets to see the band in one specific room and now couldn't get in. Glad we left early cause it looked like it was going to kick off any moment. If you're going to have a multi storey venue, make all the floors interesting.
D. S.
The place that started the Peckham hipster movement with Frank's Campari bar , still with one of the best views of London.
M. S.
Bit of a blank canvas when it comes to an event space. Big open central room, decent toilet facilities, the rest really depends on the event
A. M.
Great roof top bar at the far end by the flea market. Friendly staff and had a delicious vegan burger!!
S. F.
New building lots going on
D. S.
Great streetart
L. M.
Need to book in advance the rooftop bar! Great experience, best views in London
K.
Cool place with outdoor sittings and drinks and food.
g.
So much going at the bussey building, a great resource for SE London
I. M.
Excellent multi purpose venue
A. G.
Great place to have an exhibition at and check out new exhibitions too
F. '.
Great place. Shame about all the hipsters. Lol.
F. H.
Great rooftop bar. Lovely London views. Be aware that there are 6 flights of stairs to climb as lift not accessible.
M. I. T. W.
Nice grungy arty space in the centre of Peckham. Not disabled-friendly as building is 2 storeys high with no lifts; poor access to all parts, even the toilets. But if, you are able, this is good space.
R. B.
Great way to spend a summer evening. Away from the mayhem of Peckham.
S. T.
Went to watch a film. Covid secure management. Drinks served. Was good.
S. B.
The rooftop bar here is so cute and a much more cosy size than Franks on the other side of the railway.
G. v. d. W.
Nice area for a place out.
A. P.
Great space offering a ton of events and interesting happenings / residents
J. B.
Keep an eye on Bussey building for exciting, off the beaten track productions and events!
L. H.
Very instagrammable place to come and have a few drinks. Be warned: there are like 10 flights of stairs to get here so you’ll be knackered by the time you get up to the top but the view is definitely worth it! If you go on a weekend I would recommend going maybe 5ish as it gets very busy and then hard to get a seat. I wanted to get an iced coffee but they didn’t do this despite doing an espresso martini? Service wasn’t very good but I would probably go back.
w. s.
Get up here and and enjoy it for yourself you lazy ^@5€$*$& ruxtkvdyq5ucc
k.
Plenty activities to do there
F. B.
Very buzzy place. The bass was a bit louder for my liking but then I think I am a bit older than their usual clientele
J. M.
Fantastic place with incredible food from What The Fattoush
K. A.
Absolutely fantastic art exhibition from the 3rd year sculpture and drawing
d. m.
Top utilisation of building. Shouts to yogarise and other services in the building
S. T.
Amazing experience, would definitely go again
P. H.
Love Bussey rooftop and pizza is amazing!
A. M.
Was an eclectic mix, minus a star for the drugged people dancing in the tight alley otherwise great stuff
S. C.
A range of independent businesses in various studios. Includes roof top bar, pottery, yoga, artists etc and Peckham Festival
A. P.
Great atmosphere with nice and funny performance together with cool drinks and delicious food!
B. W.
I've been here twice now over the years. Once for the Rooftop Cinema which was just OK. If I'd wrapped up warmer it would have been better, but needing (tiny) headphones for the sound really detracts from a cinema experience.
Last month we saw some stand-up comedy which was surprisingly good. With COVID spacing of the tables and the open air setting I couldn't imagine stand up working - it's usually done in a packed room and I expected the comics to have trouble connecting with sparse audience and their words floating away in the air.
But no, it was "different" but still really funny.
Best was the headline act ventriloquist Nina Conti. A ventriloquist seemed sooo... vaudeville or something. Could it be funny in 2020? It was! Really funny. She seemed to be enjoying herself, she got the audience involved in an absolutely hilarious section. A great surprise.
Because of COVID there was no bar queus, and instead you ordered food and drinks via website and they were delivered to your table. I actually hope that way of doing things remains once COVID is over. It was very convenient.
T. F.
Nice spot to meet up with friends and try the different beers from the various bars close by
S. K.
We went for a specific event and other wise wouldn't go, it doesn't look like the safest place
o. p.
It's all depending on the reasons you're visiting for but it's a safe zone and friendly environment.
R. K.
Went there for ceramics market - super vivid yet chilled atmosphere!
M. T. &. T.
Good, all day parking £10
B. L.
A mix of art, bars and eating. Peckham has definitely become destination
S. R.

P. F.
Really sick experience! Will do it again
A. L.
Great idea but very expensive and the food was sparse. A great one of night
J. M.
Such a diverse programme of events in such an amazingly unconventional space. Would definitely recommend
J. J.
Diverse fun art centre.
K. K.
Lots of great businesses
T. W.
Great upstairs bar super COVID friendly
C. P.
The bussey building is a former cricket bat factory, apparently. I'm not into cricket, but I love the place. It's full of creative studios poorly insulated, underground bars, 3 rooftops, Berlin style dancefloors in the main building at the weekend, inexplicably a sake bar, a large space in the courtyard serves for various events like kilos sales and goldsmiths University shows, there is a 'gallery' that is randomly opened, food trucks in the summer and in the new bit towering the high street, 3 levels or coworking space with a cool wine bar on top. What's not to like?
B. D.
Not the greatest of places but was reasonable for a hot sauce festival.
P. L.
A fun vibrant place, well worth the trip.
C. D.
Various venues, food, drink and culture...
C. M.
Artistic, lots of studios. Good vibes, mix of authentic and independent. Warning: hipsters abound.
i. t.
Great view.
M. K.
Been here to see the DIY art market. Was lovely!
N. H.
A hub of music and arts. Should you be venturing for a night out you will have to wrestle your way though the British bulldog of bouncers. Searching every nook and crevice... be warned. The building consists of two stairwells on either side of the building. With floors and venues between. Bars structures feature in the corner of each. He dance floors are spacious and have great venues of the performers.
J. S.
Great selection of places to explore. Kanpai has great sake.
K. P.
