Lovely views. Relaxed atmosphere. Laughter, clapping, singing dancing, the staff are happy and friendly. The place is nice and tidy, child and family friendly. Been to a couple of weddings here and despite the bad reviews I couldn't see a problem.

We had our wedding at overgrown acres on 26/5/2022. I didn't read any reviews until I came to leave this one myself after our wedding. I am completly suprised by some of the reviews that have been left as our wedding was perfect in every single way. The venue is beautiful in its self but all of the staff- especially Michelle were fantastic. Michelle helped us from start to finish, I liked her up front attitude and her honesty. From the very beginning she told us about the noise restraints and what they had done to combat that. We had music playing all day, a dj at night and NOT once were any of our guest discouraged from clapping, talking or enjoying themselves inside or out. Also to include that most of our guests were outside for most of the day enjoying their selves and not once was anyone told to keep the noise down. We had no issues with our vendors communicating with Michelle and our caterer even commented on how helpful and accommodating she was. Michelle took any stress that could have been put of the day and I can not reccomed this venue enough. All of our guests commented on how amazing the venue was and how nice ALL of the staff were. I can not thank them enough for such a wonderful day.

IGNORE THE REVIEWS OF CHRIS BURBANK who has taken my review, based on my postive experience and using it for his own vindictive agenda. After harassing my positive review and those of others for this business. were not happy I blocked him commenting on my post due to his incessant harassing of someone who simply wanted to thank the owners for a great service. He and other distrgruntled neighbours are using this page as a bully and for their own political agenda. The actual venue is so beautiful, it's very well run and offers amazing facilities for all guests young and old. Every detail is thought of and Michelle and her team do everything they can to ensure the bride and groom and have the most magical day. I was only a guest and came away so impressed by the venue I have no doubt it would be somewhere I would want to recommend as first choice for anyone getting Married or having any special celebrations. My daughter was also very well considered on the set up the night before with Michelle being incredibly kind to her and going above and beyond to make her feel part of it all beyond what we were doing too. 5 stars is not enough To Chris I said before and will say again if you have a genuine grievance then this is not the correct place to follow that up. I am not condoning law breaking but as far as I can read on all the planning applications appeals in process and use of GDPO mean you are having a tantrum until you get your own way. I stand by my reference to Victor Meldrew. I have reported your comments as slanderous and harassing and requested you are blocked by Facebook for continuing to harassing this business. I will ensure I do the same to Google and all other platforms you are using in this in an inappropriate manner. Something I would not have done had you not chosen to personally harass me for leaving a review. If you made me feel this way then I can understand exactly why Michelle may be trying to ensure her guests are not celebrating in the way they would wish .

We got married here yesterday and had the perfect day! The setting was absolutely beautiful day and night, and we cannot thank Michelle and the team enough for all of their help both on the day and in the run up to our wedding! The team really did go above and beyond-from reorganising the order of the day so my dad could do his speech from overseas, to Michelle looking for fresh dummy’s for our youngest guest. We asked Michelle if we could help with anything at many points throughout the day, but she took everything in her stride and just wanted to ensure we had the best day. The whole experience was relaxed and the guests loved our laid back venue choice. We cannot recommend enough xx

I cannot thank Michelle and her team enough for helping to make our day so magical. I planned our wedding in 12 weeks and there is no way I could have pulled together such a perfect day so quickly without her help and support. She went out of her way to help in the run up to the day, sending over her recommendations on suppliers and helping me find a last minute DJ when we were let down 2 weeks before. And then they were so attentive on the day, helping make things run perfectly - Michelle herself particularly went above and beyond and it was even noticed by so many of our guests. Including making sure the drunker guests were safe when it came to getting home! She was just a total star and I cannot thank her enough❤️ Team aside, the venue itself is just stunning. It made for the perfect setting and everyone commented on how beautiful it was. Perfect in the sunshine during the day and even more gorgeous as the fairy lights sparkled at night. The pictures we’ve managed to get were amazing. Our day was so relaxed but beautiful - exactly what we wanted and I cannot recommend it enough. I wish we could do it all over again next year!!!!

A brief review of the day I spent at Overgrown acres as a photographer (@lcphotouk) photographing the wedding in August 2021. I arrived early on the morning to look around the area. I immediately met Michelle who was preparing the decoration and tables inside of the tent. Michelle, who is a very nice person, showed me around the facility showing me where I can go to take beautiful photos. She is always willing to help, when I need thanks for lent me a ladder so that I could take a picture of the whole group of guests. The wedding proceeded without any problems, the music played joyfully. The young couple and the guests were very pleased. Outdoor games were available at the facility, so the guests were not bored. Beautiful decoration of the tent inside and outside. I really felt a great atmosphere while taking pictures. In the evening, after dark, when the guests were returning to the cars, there was someone from the service who shone a flashlight to show the guests the way to the car. Really full of professionalism. I would love to go back there again, because there are so many opportunities to take more photographs and beautiful moments in such a beautiful place. As resident DJ at Overgrown acres I can comment on the zone array sound system. It’s the perfect sound system if you don’t want to be overpowered with music on your special night. The sound system produces 85db on the dance floor and 75db in the other parts of the tipis. Leaving guests to enjoy the music on the dance floor or background music away from the dance floor so guests are able to talk amongst eachother with no trouble hearing each other.

I cannot thank Michelle and her team enough. My sister and brother in law had their wedding at Overgrown Acres last September. It was hands down the most beautiful, magical and fairy-tale venue I have ever been to and that's even compared to Cambridge May Balls! What makes this venue stand out is that as well as it being a beautiful venue with amazing facilities, Michelle runs Overgrown Acres with the couple and their families absolutely at the heart of it. Michelle took the time to get to know us and make the day, with every tiny detail perfectly executed for us. We felt very safe in Michelle's capable hands overseeing everything and because she is caring and got to know us so well she was even brilliant at taking care of us the night before with pre-wedding nerves setting in. Just one anecodate about how Michelle and her team went over and above. The wedding was at the time of the petrol shortages and some guests arrived at the wedding with empty fuel tanks having not been able to find petrol on their journey (some were travelling quite a distance). Michelle and her family helped our guests by finding the nearest petrol and filling up their cars so that they could enjoy the wedding and not worry about how they would get home. Now, that really is going above anything I would expect from a wedding venue. Thank you Michelle, you really are a superstar!

We had a tight turnaround for getting our wedding ready and from the moment we entered Overgrown Acres, we knew this was we knew this was the place for us. When we started planning the day, we knew immediately that we were good hands with Michelle and the team. As well as listening to and accommodating our ideas, we got lots of feedback and input from Michelle to make the day extra special and run to plan. The setup is splendid and the setting is beautiful. Being tucked in a corner it's hard not to miss at first, being very much in nature and with the spirit of its surroundings. We loved the attention to detail, felt safe and looked after and got feedback from guests that our wedding was one of the best they'd ever attended! This is largely down to the great service we got from Overgrown Acres and we wish them all the best in continuing to bring people together in their space.

Michelle and her team at the overgrown acres have kindly supported the A&E department In hosting a summer party to thank us all for the hard work during the pandemic. This has boosted moral in the department and has made us feel appreciated and thankful for the community for giving something back for our hard work. We couldn't be more grateful for Michelle's kind gesture In offering us her venue. Overgrown acres is such a unique venue and everyone loved it. Photos do not do it justice! Michelle was very attentive and made us all feel welcome, we had multiple different company’s at our event such as entertainment and catering and everything ran smoothly with the help of Michelle and the team, everyone is so grateful of how the evening turned out it was truly needed after the last 18 months! My step daughter held her wedding day here, I've been to many weddings over the years, this was the best ever. The wedding ceremony and reception in one place, plenty of room for the children to play including a play ground, child secure. We may have been lucky with the weather to sit outside, however there was plenty of room undercover. The food was excellent. The owners were so attentive without being noticeably present, at the end of the night they organised taxi pick up area really well. This was their first licenced wedding ceremony, they got it 100% right. Wow….what I can I say an amazing venue and a lovely team of people. I have read many of the reviews and unsure they are talking about the same venue. Nothing is too much problem, you are given a blank canvass to put the personal touch to the venue, including your own caterers and many more. The bride and groom had a lovely day and I was glad to be able to enjoy it as this beautiful venue. I wish Michelle and her team the best of luck for 2022 and many more wedding seasons ahead. It does appear that a disgruntled neighbour is doing anything he can to tarnish a business, does he not know that the government are in favour of these venues following the pandemic. Yes he will take photos of you going into site, but again why is this the venues fault. He seems to preach about safety but surely doing this, is a safety concern so he is creating the problem. It is also worth while to note these types of venues can go ahead without planning permission, I am unsure why previous brides are now saying this is an issue and not recommending this venue based on this. I know of a large amount of venues in and around Nottingham that don’t have planning permission either. All I can say is that if the venue was illegal they would not be open, so all I would say is if you are looking at this venue, go and book as you will not be disassapointed by the team who will host your special day. As the review from Becky says where she is telling people to avoid, I can fully recommend this venue and should you wish to contact me to discuss I will be more than happy to do this. Overgrown Acres is a beautiful, relaxed, fun and safe outdoor tipi wedding venue owned by Michelle Woodward. I cannot thank Michelle and her team enough for making my daughter's wedding, the fairytale day that she dreamed of. Michelle especially worked tirelessly to make Hannah and Fergus's Day special and unique, from pre-wedding plans, setting up, to clear away the rubbish the morning after the reception, nothing seemed too much. On the day, Michelle was incredibly supportive, welcoming guests, serving reception drinks and later the cake, sharing her home when needed, and even rocking an unsettled baby. Her support to us and our guest was invaluable. I would highly recommend Overgrown Acres!!! Thank you Michelle :D

A stunning venue with really helpful and courteous staff from the greeter at the gate, the owner and her son who were especially helpful during the the mini fuel crisis helping me locate fuel for a long drive back home. My daughter Hannah n her husband James got married here on Thursday 19th May 2022. It could not have been more perfect. The venue is stunning. What an amazing day we had, it was the day we dreamed of and more. The venue and the suppliers worked so well together and it meant we had a perfect day, which we will remember forever. Having read some of the reviews of Overgrown Acres, I am truly shocked as I can’t fault the venue. We originally booked a different Tipi Venue but decided to swap to Overgrown as the family who own it were so lovely and made us feel excited every step of the way. It is a new venue so obviously has some teething issues with local planning but honestly Michelle and her family are amazing to work with, especially her daughter Franky. The only part of the reviews that I would advise on is the music system, you aren’t going to have the loudest music at this venue, however that wasn’t the vibe we were going for and it meant we had something for everyone. If you are thinking of booking, I definitely would!! Thank you Michelle and family and best of luck with the venue in future. Harriet & Joe x

We had a great wedding at Overgrown Acres, the venue looked amazing even in the rain. There staff was excellent being professional and responsive, they had people handling traffic, serving bar, clearing around and moving tables etc, I couldn't pick one person from team to praise as all deserved the praise On the noise issues commented on by others we had been told from the very first meeting which was before the pandemic hit that they operated a noise policy and the event would be finished at 11pm, we made a lot of noise singing and clapping with no issues from venue, we supplied our own DJ, catering and bouncy castle again Michelle and team sorted out the logistics on site which worked perfectly and even the vehicles bringing the bride etc was parked in a good photo position. The tent inside is awesome spacious the music system works really well and lighting just right Covid comment The site operated a very good common sense policy fully following government guidelines, we was also asked to do a flow test(optional) which everyone did bless them all, this allowed everyone to feel safer. Overall comment I would recommend this place to anyone, Michelle worked with us to make this my Daughters wedding and not an out the box one fits all type, well done guys.

We had our wedding reception at Overgrown Acres on the 07/08/21 and we couldn't be happier with how it went. In the run up, Michelle and the team were attentive and supportive guiding us every step of the way. During our day Michelle did everything that she could to make sure that our day went smoothly. The venue looked incredible and all of our guests said that it was a hidden gem. My husband and I had our wedding reception at Overgrown acres and it couldn't have been more perfect. I can't believe we found somewhere so beautiful and so close to where I grew up in Tollerton. After reading some of the previous reviews regarding the sound we were naturally a bit worried but we experienced no issues at all. Michelle has put in a clever sound system making it loud on the dance floor but at a level where you can hold a conversation in the rest of the tipis. Michelle also took the time to speak to our DJ to explain the system, in fact she took the time to speak to all of our suppliers so everyone got on and worked really well together. We wanted a rustic and laid back wedding and that's exactly what we got. Michelle left us to it to make own personal touches to the tipis whilst also helping and giving advice. You can see how passionate she is about her business and it really pays off. Thanks again to Michelle and all her team, it will be a day we will never forget!

What a fabulous Venue and team. I attended a wedding here as an evenig guest . I delivered a cake earlier in the day and I acutally wondered if i was at the right place when i first drove in as its so secluded and screened from the road! Michelle and her team were so welcoming and helpful. Everything was so well organised, beautifully decorated and clean. The teepe was deceptive in size! It easily coped with the wedding guests both the small number in the afternoon followed by the addition of the evening guests. There are places to sit well out of the bustle if you wish. I was unsure about the possible noise from the disco in the evening... i had absolutely no need to worry. There is a wonderful sound system in place which keeps the volume of music being played over the dance floor but immediately you step off the floor you can easily hold a conversation without straining! It is incredible (I did have a little play at walking on and off the floor because it was such a novelty!) I cannot praise the venue or the people who run it enough. Its a gem. I wish them every success for the future

This was a fabulous venue for my daughter’s wedding reception. I highly recommend it. Michelle and her staff worked tirelessly before the event and on the day to ensure the smooth running of the wedding. Their guidance was much appreciated. Everything came together to make a perfect day; I cannot praise the team enough. We fell on our feet here. The Tipi itself has a magical and spacious Tardis like quality. It has the wow factor and the happy couple were able to have it decorated exactly to their wishes. The music sound system in the Tipi is remarkable, it seems loud on the dance floor area, yet just a few feet away it’s quiet enough to hold normal conversations around the tables and seating area, so this kept all the wedding guests happy. This has to be experienced to be appreciated. It’s in a countryside location, yet easy to access. It’s set back from the nearby road; you wouldn't know it’s there if wasn't for the sign by the road. The trees shelter it from any road noise which helps make it a peaceful, idyllic venue. A little gem.

As a venue, absolutely astounding. From a DJs point of view, the staff and owners were fantastic, always on hand and show you around, lighting in the Tipi was great and atmospheric, with festoon lights, fairy lights and an array of ADJ uplights around the dancefloor, I took a couple of my own lights and that was adequate. The speaker system, installed is an over the dancefloor array (324 speakers) which on the floor is superb, 1-2 metres off the floor was quiet, allowing a normal volume conversation, also a couple of satellite speakers in the tipi, the system is regulated, and if pushed compresses your signal, however if sound checked and set sounds great, you won't be DJing a rave and for a wedding is perfect. Overall great place to work, easy load in, but have a torch for breakdown.

We were one of the few couples to get married during COVID restrictions. We had all but given up hope when we came across Overgrown Acres. Michelle and her team were fantastic in the preparation and the day exceeded our expectations. The location was fantastic, and has so many little gems within its grounds for pictures.
