Brilliant shop to get your wedding dress from! They have a great selection which allows you to try on many dresses you may not have even thought of getting. For my dress, I was looking at something completely different, and then Julie pulled a very elegant looking dress out and recommended I tried it on. I did and it was the one. Nothing else compared! Not only that but the aftercare is brilliant with the inhouse seamstress taking care of any bits you may need to amend - the alterations are flawless. They even took care of a bridesmaid dress which I had bought from elsewhere with no issues. Would definitely recommend - a fab team and gorgeous dresses!

From the moment I walked in to Gatehouse brides I knew I was in the right place, Julie was lovely and had selected some dresses- and I tried on one I loved and I said YES to the dress! Circumstances changed and it meant I needed to have the dress substantially altered, which the seamstress did amazingly! The dress was beautiful and the extra touches and kindness shown was fantastic, I really appreciated it and it felt like we had gone through a journey together when I finally picked up my dress! Not only did I pick my dress there but I picked some extremely comfortable shoes, and having fairly wide fitting feet I was worried I wouldn't be able to find comfortable and pretty shoes all rolled in to one! Experience exceeded my expectations! First wedding dress shop I went to, and after the first visit I knew I didn't need to look any further. Julie made me feel so at ease and special. She listened to what I wanted and really looked for the best dresses for me. I didn't feel pressured to make a decision on the spot or didn't feel like I was pushed to go for the most expensive dress (as you could feel when going shopping in some places). I saw a dress online from a designer the store works with, Ellis Bridal, and Julie happily arranged for a dress to be loaned to the shop for me to try on. I am so thankful to have found this place and would recommend it to any bride to be. I haven't had a chance to purchase any myself yet, but the store also has a great range of accessories and bridesmaid dresses available in all colours and shape.

The Gatehouse Brides were absolutely brilliant throughout the whole wedding build up process. I was so excited to go dress shopping and I hoped that the experience would live up to my expectations. I really can’t recommend Julie and Gatehouse Brides enough. I dragged my mum around 5/6 bridal shops before she suggested Gatehouse Brides, and I’m so glad she did. From the very start of the initial appointment, I knew it was where I wanted to purchase my dress from. The girls who work there treat you like a friend, and if you wish, they advise on different styles, but are not at all pushy. They are also very helpful, professional and respectful when helping you try dresses on - this is something you don’t think of when deciding where to go for your wedding dress, but on reflection, it’s so important. They also clearly have in depth training, and so can tell you what adjustments can be done, which makes basically every dress a possibility! It is clear that Julie is very passionate about what she does, and has amazing knowledge too. She really has been great throughout, so friendly, personable and helpful. Sharon (who adjusts the dress) is lovely too, and incredibly talented!!! We loved every second, thank you GHB! Xxx

Where do I even begin with my experience at Gatehouse Brides! They were the second dress shop I visited back in 2019. After having an awful experience at the first dress shop I visited, I was so nervous to carry on searching for my dream dress. However, all those worries disappeared when I walked into gatehouse. I was greeted with a warm welcome and they had the most beautiful selection of dresses for me to try! It was so lovely to be somewhere that had so many dresses for various sizes! By the end of my appointment I had said yes to the dress and cancelled all my other appointments elsewhere! After having such a wonderful experience finding my dress, we decided to go back to gatehouse brides for my bridesmaid dresses! They had such a great selection of dresses and really took time to understand my vision and colour scheme for the wedding! My girls adored their dresses and commented on what a good experience they had! A couple months later covid hit, despite this gatehouse brides were brilliant at letting me know when my dress arrived and made me feel so safe and comfortable at all my dress fittings. Julie was fantastic throughout the dress fitting process! With every postponement she reassured me it would be okay and we’d get our day and was always there to keep me calm and level headed!! She took time to get to know me as a person and never made me feel like just a number to shoo out the door! I absolutely adored attending gatehouse brides for all my appointments and having a chat with Julie and the other wonderful ladies that work there! They all always made me feel so welcome and beautiful when I put my dress on! I couldn’t recommend gatehouse brides enough, they played such an important role in my unusual covid wedding journey and will hold a special place in my heart! Wow! Where to begin with this beautiful shop and the exceptional service. I went into GHB today, the first wedding dress store I’ve ever been to and I had the most wonderful experience. Emily greeted myself and my bridesmaid with the warmest welcome. She had already looked at the questionnaire I had filled out upon booking and had chosen some styles based on what I said I had liked. I also showed some styles I had found on GHB’s website and she found these for me too. She listened to exactly what I wanted and was just so helpful and fantastic from start to finish. Sadly, the next shop I went to after GHB was the total opposite and just highlighted the fabulous service of GHB even more. Emily asked what I liked about each dress I tried on and what I didn’t like. She said from the start to be completely honest as she would not be offended and just wanted to help me find ‘the one’. Well I’ve walked away today and after having tried on at least thirty dresses in other stores, I’m pretty certain that the first dress I tried on at GHB was ‘the one’. I must admit that when Emily showed this to me, I did not think it would be to my style but it is the most gorgeous dress and I could not be more grateful for Emily’s friendly manner, attentiveness and all round kind manner. She made my experience one I will never forget. What a gorgeous shop as well, so many personal touches such as my name being written on the mirror with a welcome message. If you are looking for your wedding dress, don’t even waste your time with other stores because GHB is guaranteed to have what you are looking for and will provide you with the most outstanding service. After purchasing my wedding dress at Gatehouse Brides, I started to feel unsure about the dress I picked for my big day. Mainly it was because I was watching too much “Say Yes to the Dress”. I called Julie and had a chat with her and I felt better. She arranged for me to come into the shop and see and try on the dress again. She was very nice and very helpful, at one stage she even offered to go out of her way to open the shop on a Bank Holiday Monday to get things sorted out for me. The service I received from start to finish was excellent. It was a one to one friendly but professional service. On all of my visits to the shop I felt I was a valued customer and Julie and her staff had my interest at heart. My chosen dress was a big hit to my, now husband and all the guest at the wedding. I had my appointment at Gatehouse Brides in August. It was the first bridal shop I had been to with no idea of what style to go for and what would suit me. I needn't have worried, Julie and Hannah were fantastic! They were able to guide me through the process of choosing a wedding dress in a very relaxed and unrushed way with a great range of wedding dresses. They both have a genuine interest in the client ( unlike some shops I went to) and were incredibly helpful and have continued to be since my apointment. Gstehouse Brides was the first bridal shop I tried and it was such a wonderful experience! Julie is clearly very experienced and has an eye for what will suit you and makes helpful suggestions. Julie picked a dress for me to try that I would never have picked for myself. I can honestly say I've never felt more special than at that moment. She got it spot on! I needn't of looked any further as that was the dress. Julie couldn't of been more kind, patient or accommodating. Julie stood back whilst I chatted with my mother and made of honour about the dress. She was never pushy or persuasive. The dresses are stunning and julie puts you at ease straight away. I recommend gatehouse brides 110% and I cannot wait to put my dress back on. Beautiful dresses, very attentive staff. The staff are very welcoming and put you at your ease, there is no pressure to buy and no pressure to try on dresses you don't feel wouldn't suit you. I said 'yes to my dress' here and am really looking forward to saying ' I do' in it. Top rated shp, only down side I can think of, is parking, you have to park further up the road as the shop is situated right on a set of traffic lights, that said, I had no problems parking just before the traffic lights, at the side of the main road.

My Mum and I had so much fun visiting Gatehouse Brides to try on dresses a few weeks ago. Julie and Hannah were so knowledgeable and welcoming. Thank you for making me feel so comfortable and at ease. Would recommend :)
