I've been using HL for 5 years and I am very satisfied. The choice of funds is large and the trading process is easy. Over the years, their website has improved and lots of useful content has been added. The HL app is also robust. Overall, I highly recommend the company.

I have been investing through Hargreaves Lansdown (HL) for a couple of years now and happy with the service provided. I predominantly use the android app which I find convenient, easy to use, and enables me to access and choose from a huge range of shares, funds, etc. My only small criticism/suggestion is topping up the account which currently involves scanning/typing the information on the card. Unless I have overlooked this, it would be great to have an option to save the card details. Otherwise I am pleased to have chosen to invest with HL!

Easy to set up a stocks and shares ISA with modest fees - low (purchase) trade fees if you use the regular monthly investment option. App and website both very easy to use.

Very good 'dashboard' for managing HL's Active Savings platform but they need to offer more options for easy access accounts: currently only 3 with only one of those three institutions that most people will be familiar with in the UK.... I'm sure HL is working on providing more options as competition hots up for multi-savings platforms.

Hargreaves Lansdown provide an excellent shares and funds platform . But it comes an an excruciating price. Funds are charged at 0.45% so the bigger your fund or pension the bigger the charges. For funds below around £50,000 this is ok but for more than this they are best avoided. I use them because I avoid funds and stick to individual shares, ETF's and investment trusts. These instruments only attract commission charges for buying and selling so taking advantage of the efficient and easy to use service without being crushed by excessive charges.

Excellent investment platform, easy to use, plenty of investment choices, discounted/preferrential dealing costs, top service! The best of all is that if you need to call their customer service, a person answers and they deal with your query straight away, without passing you through the departments, menus etc. Recommended!

Good service, good web site, so why not 5 stars, well you can only get access to your account and trade if you have a MOBILE signal, WiFi is not sufficient due to the two factor authentication. It meant I was locked out of my account while on holiday.... since discovered if you write to them they can turn it off , so that solves holidays, so increased score

I have been using HL since before they went public.The only place I could find who would take over a small, very small, ISA, or it's forerunner, from the previous administrator, who were stopping. Can't remember the details now.
Always had instant response from them, never any problems.
My only regret is that I did'nt take up my wife's share allocation when HL went public.

I have a HL SIPP and also use the Active Savings Hub more recently. From a customer service POV HL have always been great, very accessible over the phone and helpful. The App is very easy to use although I’m sure there’s more I could do on it that I don’t! I also enjoy the bite size articles that I’ve opted to get sent to my email. Thanks HL.

Platform is reasonably good. The fees are much higher than some of the emerging platforms. One thing I find peculiar is that everyone on the phone lines tends to speak in a “public school boy” accent?? It definitely doesn’t scream diversity, more of colonialism. I wouldn’t mind so much, but some of the nonsense I’ve had spurted out of the mouths of the people that I’ve tried speaking to leaves me scratching my head. Are you as “educated” as you sound? 🤣
I feel investing should be for all, and I think HL could do more to change their elitist image, and adapt their fee structure to appeal more to the Everyman - who could probs do with a financial leg-up in this world.
That said, overall impressive is still positive.

Very polite staff but the Boss guys need to wake up and offer SPAC IPO notifications... Also they don't support OTCs or CSEs too many times they failed to have a specific share I wanted.
I do like the website and phone app seems they need a better CEO to take them to next level... I need to consider moving to Interactive investor.. Who support far more stocks shares etc.
Also very little info of USA shares... Not the staffs fault lazy CEO and owners fault ... Need to pull fingers out their as.

Hargreaves are OK for beginners or one off investments, especially companies which are not as popular or on other exchanges away from. The big ones. Better customer service than the online brokers as you can actually talk to people on a phone lol

As a workplace the new CEO has led vast, positive changes in the previous four years for the staff (thankfully reversing the steady exodus under the impossibly well paid Ian Gorham). As a company they offer excellent customer services and superb investment resources - their website is second to none.

HL used to offer a transfer from a trust to a JISA. This was 'temporarily' suspended early on in the pandemic, and has not, as yet, been reinstated.
It will be interesting to see the outcome of the various legal cases that are challenging HL over the Woodford debacle.

Not a very a good company to work for if you go to work for them on one of their help desks, it's akin to working in a posh call center, and the salary was pretty low for such a profitable company. As far as using their investment services, I think they are quite good - I've not had a problem with them so far and I would recommend.

Initially recommended Hargreaves Lansdown via a family member who was a bit more up to date with financial investments than I was and they have proved good so far
Set up by two Bristolians in their back room and have now extended to a large financial company, who I think do their homework and know their stuff and yes they will charge quite a bit but if you know that they do their homework then at least it is worth it.
They do regular anural reviews, the only drawback is that they will do this over the telephone, but I do prefer to see someone face to face and this can be arranged for you to visit their offices in Anchor Road though the waiting time is longer (not too sure about home visits if you have a mobility problem) - these have proved my preferred option and as you are paying management fees then why not use it and it is worth reviewing things
