I bought 20 pyracantha to create various hedges around our garden from J Parkers and got some free mixed cactus dahlias. They arrived strong and healthy and have already doubled in size and have buds developing ready to flower. Great company to deal with and dispatch was faster than quoted. My only gripe was Evri/Hermes; (I haven't marked J parkers down in stars as I'm not reviewing the delivery company!) my plants sat in the delivery warehouse for an extra two days longer than needed as they were apparently unable to be delivered by the usual local courier. The sizes and weights were clearly stated by J Parkers so it was not their fault and low and behold they turned up with the local courier anyway. Disappointed with Evri/Hermes service but fantastic plants, price and service from J Parkers! Thank you.

Plants arrived safely, even though the box that they were in was somewhat battered! Hermes tracking, as usual, is a bit random to say the least. Luckily I was in when it arrived (Was about to go out). Delivery could have been better, why don't you use the likes of DPD where they give a one hour time slot for delivery? (I don't work for them). One of the pots was squashed when I opened the box, but no damage to the plant I think. I've been generous and given 4 stars, maybe 3 and a1/2 would be closer to the mark.

My plants arrived on time. The packaging was the most protective I have seen which ensured my plants arrived in pristine condition. My recent delivery of strawberry plants arrived in excellent condition and they are rooting and shooting well. I was a little disappointed with my first delivery of pansy and wallflower plugs. They were sent on one of the hottest days of the year and were sweating in their packaging. I feel the dispatch should have been delayed for a cooler spell. I have horticultural experience but even I lost 6 plants. The others now look wonderful. I noticed that for the dispatch of the strawberry plants I was sent an email warning that dispatch had been delayed due to the mild weather. I'm presuming that other customers had had a similar experience with earlier plants due to the dispatch not having been delayed. Overall I am satisfied with deliveries from J Parkers

Order unfortunately did not arrive within the 28 days stated on the confirmation. Customers services were quite helpful and reasonably quick to respond with an update. Only issue I had was with the Galanthus bulbs being a bit on the dry side. Planted them anyway but not overly confident they will emerge as snowdrops in the spring. Parker’s are good value and came recommended by friends in the landscape architecture business and I will use them again and hope for a better experience!

I am usually very pleased with the service from J Parkers. This time the delivery took a little longer than expected at over a month. Everything was well packed and all the bulbs and the Philadelphus were all excellent. The delphiniums were very small and sick looking, but I have potted them on and have my fingers crossed they survive and grow away in Spring!

Always get good bulbs from Parkers. I was particularly pleased with the giant Amaryllis bulb. I bought a bulb in a box locally last year and it was terrible! No bigger than a daffodil bulb and of course no flowers , so was a bit nervous buying an unseen one but it was a lovely big and heavy bulb that I am confident will bear one or two flower spikes!

This years delivery of hanging baskets have been a disaster to be honest. 10 hanging baskets either delivered dead and smashed to pieces in transit or just not delivered and instead returned to sender before they arrived with me because they were damaged in transit. I’ve had refunds no issues there from j Parker however after ordering 2 - 3 months in advance to make sure I end up with a house looking beautiful with hanging baskets Ive ended up with 10 hanging baskets missing as they’ve now stopped selling them so no replacements are available. Very disappointing service this year from j Parker. Will try elsewhere next year

Every item I ordered arrived, every bulb now planted. Bulbs were all a good size and I look forward to the spring to see them all in bloom. Only problem was that the printing on each bag was very much on the small side and at 86 years of age I found it difficult to read although I have excellent glasses.

In the past I have always given 5 stars, but on this occasion the plants were not packed very well and damage was caused however next year that should be rectified with new growth. This will not stop me from buying future plants from Parkers as they are normally of high quality.

After considerable success with J Parkers over many years, this year's orders have been disappointing. Our first Begonia corms were superb, but the latest batch were extremely poor. Your refund/replacement service is excellent. Results have ranged from excellent to poor.

Absolutely delighted with the plants from this company, despite the hottest of days and cutting back on watering, they sre still giving great colour. Will definitely be buying again. The courier used to deliver was appaling the boxes were obviously thrown around and were damaged with very little compost remaining. Soon sorted when I contacted their customer service though.

The lead time was long = the company said September - but it arrived in August after about 7 weeks in good shape and I'm looking forward to nurturing the Californian Lilac shrub over the winter to plant out in spring. Good value and better service than was promised at point of sale.

What I am disappointed with is that every bag of bulbs have at least one if not two bulbs which are under size and in poor condition. Looks like they have a form of mildew or something on them. I have planted some of them and I'm hoping they will be ok. Time will tell I suppose.

I’ve been using J Parkers for some years now and my experience is very good. Yes, occasionally a plant hasn’t taken but some plants don’t. I buy all my hanging basket plugs and grow them on, see photo. I love the perennial packs, they are really good value and have transformed my garden. The 2nd photo was from a 12 perennial pack last year I bought for £6.99. I find the communication very good. I always get an email on despatch and on the odd occasion there has been a delay or a problem, it is always resolved quickly. I think there is a lot of choice and very good prices. Additionally, they were one of the few online garden retailers that didn’t take money and then couldn’t supply the order during lockdown, as some did. They were honest and stopped taking orders if they couldn’t fulfil them. I have an order coming soon and I shall continue to use them.

Good place to get your plants from. Unfortunately, 2 of my spreading plants were virtually dead or dying when I received them. I potted them straight away but both died. The rest of the plants were fine. It's just one of those things. I would still buy from J.Parkers nonetheless.

Plants and bulbs good quality, but you are a little let down by your courier. All the deliveries were left at front door in full view of the road where anyone could pinch the parcel. Driver on both occasions didn't even wait to see if I was home (1st time I wasn't and box was soaking wet when I got home next day.) Gave feedback to courier as requested but made no difference to next deliveries.

I have seen some negative reviews on here; I can only give an exceptionally good one! I contacted customer services as my baskets hadn’t arrived, the lady couldn’t have been more helpful. It’s Evri the couriers who let them down. Shocking service from Evri as usual, but the baskets did arrive a few days later. It’s not the sellers fault, baskets were bone dry and not particularly good condition having been bounced around, but the looks of it. Parker’s responded swiftly, no qualms or hassle, and resolved immediately. I have absolutely no hesitation about buying from them next year, top company! Thank you.

I'm disappointed just because the plant is very small(size of a garden weed plant we see on any garden and looks like any general garden weed plant) the plant doesn't have much to look at it, it's a baby plant. I thought plant would be bigger, much bigger. So what I think at this point is that when I payed for the my plant through the website its when they planted the seeds....no wonder they sent me email saying I would receive the plant at the end of October or beginning of November and that's why plant came this tiny.

I ordered 60 garden ready polyanthus plug plants. I am extremely pleased with what I received. The plants arrived by a tracking system which was very helpful. I was able to know exactly when they would be delivered. They arrived in excellent condition, bright and fresh and well watered. I have received notification of delivery which is most useful when buying young plants. Recommendations given to friends and family. Ordered some "sale" garden ready "Primula Primlet" plants Saturday 9 Nov, arrived on Friday 15 Nov. Take a look at the QUALITY (see photographs) - these are Superb. Just one problem, with all the rain the Garden is definitely NOT ready as it is saturated!

My order was placed and the goods delivered. I was informed that my order had been dispatched and to expect delivery within two or three days. The goods arrived within the timescale stated and on arrival I inspected them. The bulbs, tubers and rhizomes appear to be high quality. Because it is too early to plant them up I can’t comment on the quality of the final plants but am confident they will be high quality. Time will tell. I have no hesitation in ordering from Parker’s again.

I love the choice. There are some amazing plants on offer and the instructions are very helpful. The price is incredibly good. Unfortunately not everything has grown (but that's the chance you take with any plant). If you email a query, the response is very quick. My only downside is not getting everything I ordered and having to chase. It means some things will be planted much later than I was hoping to. I passed the catalogue around work and a few people have signed up to receive their own. It's even inspired non-gardeners ☺️

I paid £18.99 plus delivery for what I was expecting to be a 1 to 2 foot small tree, but instead got two sticks in a pot about 6 inches tall with no sign of life. Will wait to see if they show any life next year, but am very disappointed as it will take an awful long time to have any impact in my garden if it even grows

The clematis I ordered was of a good quality . The blackberry was a bit weedy but was cheap and will need a bit of time to perk up. The dwarf apple tree was very well packed but a couple of the small side branches were broken. It has been planted and non broken branches are growing . I have ordered many plants from here in the past and they have been good quality and very well packed. This was probably a glitch.

I ordered some assorted pompom dahlia tubers from this company. When they arrived the were well packaged and each tuber was in a cellophane bag which was labelled with the type of dahlia. The tubers were excellent, large and plump, some had tiny shoots. I soaked them overnight in a bucket of water as advised before planting the next day. All tubers have now started sprouting. I'm looking forward to my display of dahlias. I will definitely use this company again, site, service, and delivery all excellent. Thank you J. Parkers.

Have ordered bulbs and beddings for a few years now. I generally have no problems with bulbs but beddings have been poor for the last couple of years. I generally order garden ready plants but ones that have arrived are literally no bigger than plugs and after rolling round in a box during dispatch were no more than a box of soil and leaves mixed up together. Don't get me wrong every effort has been made to package them well but the last ones I received were they could move about which caused a lot of damage. On ringing Parker's they were eager to rectify the problem offering a replacement or refund. Ended up getting refund and buying locally.

Takes order, but fails to supply. Supplies some out of season old stock as a freebie instead, and refuses to refund your expensive carriage as they have 'supplied you'. They are charging you to get rid of their unsaleable waste. Never accept the freebie! In all fairness, they have refunded the postage. But it is frustrating that you have to chase for it, and 6 weeks later I now have to go shopping again for the plant I want.

My first order of 3 dogwoods and 5 Aubretia were delivered on the second attempt having been lost the first time. The action taken by J Parkers was excellent and re-despatched immediately. However, only two dogwoods have survived as one was in dire straits on arrival. My second order of ornamental grasses has progressed without problems and all three appear to be doing well.

Purchased a blue Platycodon 12cm on e Bay. It arrived quickly in environmentally friendly packaging, cardboard and paper. And it was a jolly robust plant. Plenty of leaf and buds. It was fresh and un crumpled. Would buy again from these guys.

I have been a customer for a few years now, and have recommended my family and friends to buy as well. But last year and this I have found the quality of the plants and the way they have been packaged in the box to be very disappointing. They have arrived not looking very healthy as in previous orders. Also the cartons/boxes arrive with either dents in the side or crushed. Despite planting up straight away, only about 50% have come to anything and of these only about a third have produced decent plants. Bit disappointed with these. 3 stars on the basis of the jasmine and lilly of valley being goods, would have given these 4/5 stars and tyhe geranium very poor, would have given this one star.

EXCELLENT QUALITY Have bought hyacinth bulbs, winter flowering pansies and violas as plug plants so far. The bulbs were all excellent quality and are doing well underground (I discovered due to a fox trying to bury its food above them!). The plug plants arrived with lovely roots but in separate deliveries, the latest delivery looked a bit pitiful, some plants knocked out of cells, a bit dry and yellowing but felt that was due to a rough delivery. However, as per the instructions they perked up nicely within 48 hours. Would definitely order from J Parkers again and recommend them.

The only way I can get the plants is by diverting them to a parcelshop and hoping.

The root systems did not seem very large for the size of the tree and there were no planting instructions as mentioned in the invoice. On this occasion my courgette plug plants were accompanied by 3 well fed slugs who had munched their way through the plants. This is the first time I've ordered from Parkers and overall, it's been a very good experience. The bare root hostas looked very strange when they first arrived but are doing well. We also received some bare root lupins as a free gift and they are thriving. We also ordered some ferns and these have been more of a mixed bag - 3 of the 6 plants are doing OK but 3 are looking very dormant (?!?) . . . I'm hoping they will come round as the weather gets warmer. Since we did the online order, we've also been to their garden centre in Flixton, near Manchester, where they have an amazing range of plants and pots. We got some pond plants from the garden centre and they are flourishing and have made the pond a magnet for birds.

I HAVE TO EAT MY WORDS. I ordered some lavendar plants from J. Parker's and then decided to read the reviews. I was horrified and tried to contact them for 2 days by phone, unsuccessfully, which was beginning to confirm my suspicions. Eventually, after a couple of weeks, I sent them an email asking when my plants would be delivered, they replied promptly and pointed out, quite rightly, that the deliver date was on the order. It was, but did not actually state it was the delivery date. However, I received my plants on time and I WAS ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTED, THEY ARE EXTREMELY HEALTHY PLANTS, GROWING PROFUSELY. I WILL DEFINITELY BE ORDERING FROM J. PARKER'S AGAIN.

I have ordered twice from this company so far in 2020 (once was during the Covid-19 Pandemic) and both times i was very pleased with the service and quality of the plants. The only slight niggle is that the plants tend to be crammed into very small boxes (as noted in other reviews also). My most recent order arrived in good time, especially considering that we are still in the middle of a pandemic. The staff must be working really hard during this time and to be able to keep up this great service is very much appreciated.

We ordered nine (3 packs of 3) blackcurrants. They turned up quickly, well packed, and are really good strong bushes. Not much dearer than you'd pay for those ones in bags in a supermarket, but a hundred times better. Would always recommend Parkers for hedging plants as well.
