R. D.I absolutely loved the workshops I attended. I had never painted anything before and Hannah was amazing at helping us through the process. I up-cycled an old cupboard and the results were AMAZING. Thank you Hannah, I thoroughly recommend this to everyone! <3
E. P.A brilliant upcycling furniture course! Hannah is lovely and explained everything clearly and had thought of everything for us to upcycle with. She is really approachable and there for hands on or creative help when needed and provided biscuits and lots of hot drinks. I loved my upcycled side table. Pear Mill has an amazing vintage emporium to browse at lunch time or after the course. Really excellent all round.

Hannah was very helpful in the lead up to the course helping me to choose a suitable piece to work on, and on the day it was really interesting to practice the different techniques and learn about different products, hints and tips. It was very rewarding to see my piece totally transformed in just a few hours, and the location is great too. I would highly recommend to anyone interested in upcycling furniture looking for a beginner-friendly place to start and develop their skills.

Hannah was a great teacher, she is very calm and patience and certainly knows what she is doing! The set up was fantastic and I met some lovely people on the course. Would definitely recommend if you're looking to get creative, challenge yourself and do something different!
A. M.My partner and I really enjoyed our upcycling workshop at the weekend. We brought a small table each to upcycle and learnt lots of tips and tricks for how to turn it around into a lovely piece.
We both have very different styles and Hannah really encouraged this, rather than keeping us to a specific style. It was also a lovely atmosphere with great music! Would highly recommend 👍

Hannah taught me and a small group how to prepare our pre-loved pieces ready for painting, and supported us in coming up with a new look and design for them.
All materials were provided and the space we worked in at Pear Mill in Stockport was perfect.
I had such a brilliant day - I have totally caught the bug! I am also chuffed to bits with my piece ☺️ Hannah was really encouraging and supportive and taught us loads. I want to go back and do it all over again and will definitely be using my newfound skills in the future!

K. H.This course was an excellent introduction into upcycling. Hannah patiently teaches you everything you need to know step by step from cleaning your item to the fun painting part. The class was small so it was easy to get help and advice when needed. Hannah was nothing but friendly and cheerful and a wonderful instructor. I had such an amazingly creative day that has fuelled me into upcycling everything I can get my hands on!

I managed to wax it on Sunday, after the class because Hannah gave me some wax and rags to go home with. Thanks for running after me as I forgot to take it with me! A. B.Booked the upcycling course for June 17th, and was very pleased with the tutition and input from Hannah. 5 people per course, observed all covid requirements, felt very safe. Everybody brought something different to upcycle, chair, bedside drawers,round occasional table, etc, and because all were different, there were lots of choices you could make to get the best out of your project. Hannah helped the class come to a decision. I went in a little nervous, but it was a friendly and relaxed class. I have been telling everyone about Hannah. Hope she goes from strength to strength.
R. H.Last week I attended a workshop by tread softly, Hannah was wonderful from start to finish, she provided all the things we needed to up-cycle the piece of furniture we brought. The techniques I learned helped me transform my grandmas old sewing box into a lovely piece more In keeping with our decor. I can’t wait to use my new skills to work on more pieces for my home.

My piece didn't quite work as I had envisioned (not sure it ever does! 🙂) but Hannah gave me loads of useful tips and I now have designs on a bigger piece to try some new ideas. Hannah was lovely and was very informative and always helpful to answer any questions you had.....she also kept you going with cups of tea/coffee and biscuits! My £5 charity shop bought wooden chair was transformed after a few hours and I loved every minute of this course.
