I found about Freddie via Facebook as I was looking at some clubs he had custom built. I got talking to him and he was able to help me out with some new shafts , clubs, grips & even gave me advice whilst trying out the new clubs. He was patient throughout the whole experience, as I was asking loads of questions. Explained what he is doing with the clubs in simple terms. The finished clubs were better than I could imagine. I honestly can’t recommend this man enough. So knowledgeable about all things golf. His pricing is soo reasonable, especially when you consider the personal service you get from him. He makes you feel more like a friend than a customer. I know I’ll be back in the future whenever I buy some new clubs. Thank you Freddie.

Freddie has been a friend a long time and last year I started having lessons with him. My handicap is the lowest its ever been and he continues to support my game from the studio or remotely. Also, 5 start golf service and fitting when I have purchased from the shop. Would highly recommend for all golfing needs.

The main question for most golfers when choosing clubs or having clubs fitted is “am I really getting the best for me or is it just marketing?”. But when you meet someone who is passionate about the smallest detail in club fitting, and the technical aspects of golf clubs, you can be confident that you will get the correct product at a very competitive price. What you will not know at the time of purchase, is the phenomenal level of after sales service you get with your purchase. I have no problem whatsoever in recommending Whole Sale Golf, in particular Freddie Merkle.

Freddie is a likeable, modest, knowledgeable and understanding PGA Professional (who tbh is, and has become, more like a good friend), who has always proven to be approachable and available (when contacting him via phone messaging); and always at the ready to promptly get back to you and keen to help you/us to improve our golf game, whether lessons, swing technique, general overall improvement tweaks or, so as to ensure that we have the right clubs with the right set-up/shafts/components in our bags etc no matter whatever our individual skill set may be (or not!) His passion for the (beautiful !? 😅) game is obvious, but much more so is his passion and desire to help you improve! Well worth contacting Freddie and or to give him a visit. From my experience… a no-brainer 10 out of 10 !

Came to see if the driver shaft I had was right for me after buying a driver off ebay. Freddie was very knowledgeable and the set up there is first class. In the end he advised the shaft I had was right for me and there was no need to change. Clearly his priority is to fit what is best, not just to make a sale on something new. He also cut a shaft down and regripped a club whilst I was there which was great. Definitely recommend.

This bloke knows his stuff. His knowledge on the 5% is matched by his knowledge of the 95%. Not many golf pros can make as much difference as Freddie does. Abs he’s a thoroughly nice bloke.
