The food was best we have had anywhere for quite some time.
I dare anyone to get a meal and night out for the cost we paid.
Well worth the money and the staff were exceptional as well.
p. r.We were guests at the golf club, the club itself we couldn't fault and the buffet was of a very good standard but the parking was atrocious. Many of the cars were badly parked so spaces were wasted causing a lot of frustration.

One bad point, Sunday lunch, the food itself was really nice but not much of it and if advise that you cater for people who need to be gluten free, please try and a/buy b/make gluten free yorkies, it's a big lonely space on plate without it.

My wife has been shielding for 6months so it was very reassuring to have temperatures taken on entry and to be treated very safely. The meal was really tremendous value. Went to the Bistro to sample the new chefs menu and what a treat. We both had starters, main and pudding as well as drinks and couldn’t fault it. Terrine was particularly good. Duck and steak both succulent and delicious. Great value for money and great service. We’ll definitely be back.

Unfortunately, we played on a really windy day that reaped havoc with the greens, it was like Augusta in a hurricane. The club house is very chic and the staff are very friendly, the food we had after the golf was very good too. On the prior review regarding the kids, there were two boys around the benches just above the 18th green and one in particular was told off for being too noisy. What people need to remember is that this is primarily a golf club and the restaurant is very busy so safety is paramount. It doesn’t matter where you go if a child runs into someone carrying hot food, who’s fault is it?!
P. S.Excellent. You need to be with a member to gain entry. Good Covid controls, excellent service, food restricted at the moment but good choice of drinks available.

I’ve known this golf course for years but have never ventured through the door.
I knew it had a recent renovation and countless members told me about the restaurant Gastro pub style bar they were aiming for.
I heard a few chefs from the fat Buddha were employed and thought I would check it out.
Firstly, I would like to point out I am not a restaurant critic. However, I have working in the restaurant and hospitality industry for a few years and would like the readers to understand this.
My first impressions were good, the car park was full which showed keen interest from customers. I was greeted with cleanliness and calming however that changed as I walked through the main restaurant door.
Unfortunately, they hold private functions in the same area and close it off to members of the club and public. Late teens to early 20’s screaming out Ed Sheeran is not exactly what I expected from a golf course but nevertheless I approached the bar (with a membership card from a friend) I was supposed I didn’t get asked why I was not using my own as I am clearly female and the membership was a mans.
I ordered a J2O which surprisingly came in a half pint birra moretti glass (not keen!). My server who came on the receipt as Julie but was clearly of male species was very polite and asked me how I was doing. Nice touch to someone who has never been in before. I told him I was dining alone however he still gave me three menus. I took to a table as far away from the riffraff as possible however it was pretty loud so it didn’t really make a difference.
Looking at the menu, it is very much a ‘gastro pub menu’ and is pretty mediocre food. May I also add the grammar on the menu is very pitiful (see photos).
The food and drink are both reasonably priced however I was made aware that if you have membership it makes it cheaper eg normal fosters £3.80 members price £2.85, hence why I borrowed a friends. So it is worth your while to enquire into this.
I ordered the ‘Kic’ burger which was a starter/light bite I was expecting a basic slider burger with it being a starter however this was definitely not the case. It was an average sized burger served with bistro leaf side salad without dressing. Tasted nice but was abit gritty and was undercooked. Not ideal with myself being pregnant so that was swiftly avoided after my first bite. I was a little disappointed that they did not give you a choice of bun as Brioche is not to everyone’s taste however it was the only part I ate so I can’t complain.
My main course was a special and takes abit more skill than the average chicken New Yorker. Roasted vegetable risotto. Looked great but came with spinach in which I was not expecting? However the risotto made up for the starter. It was perfectly seasoned and the veg was cooked al dente which was nice to taste. The texture was perfect.
The presentation of both dishes was of good standard and would expect this from the gastro pub vibe they were aiming for.
The reason for my 3 star review.
The ambiance in the restaurant was okay but I really did not like screaming kids 50 meters away having a whale of a time when I was trying to dine the other obvious reason was the Under cooking of my burger. It takes nothing to probe the food just to be on the safe side and even if I had not of been pregnant I still would avoided it.
Lastly, I ordered both a starter and main but surprisingly they came out together by the same server.... that same server then asked me twice how my food was. I think I raised alarms when I started taking photos?
My visit took place on Friday 15/11/19 at 8pm.
