Played there today & pretty impressed. The course is beautifully situated in the hills overlooking the Derwent Valley. As a result, the views are stunning even on a grey day like today as my photos show. Although hilly in places the 6,000 + yard track is not unduly physical & is populated with some really good, challenging and interesting holes. The four par 3s are especially good. Considering we are early in the season, it was in excellent condition. The newly refurbished clubhouse is quite magnificent with a great selection of food & drink served by friendly & helpful staff. Definitely worth a visit.

Visited with our Seniors team and had a very good day out. The Whickham members were all friendly, and our playing partners made the day very pleasant. Found the course to be in very good condition and a fair challenge of golf. Clubhouse is in very good condition with pleasant surroundings. Hopefully will visit again soon.

Course was in great condition. The greens were the best I've played on for a long time. They go the extra mile to make the course enjoyable. The greenkeepers should be applauded for a great job.

Not a fan unfortunately, yes there are great views and you cannot fault the condition of the course however, alot of holes finish and there is no indication of where the next hole begins, I don't if it was because it there were and awful lot of flies, wasps, other flying insects harassing you when ever you addressed the ball, but the biggest killer for me was hills. Not only did they play havok with decent shots but I'm not a fan of hiking in-between my shots. It felt as though I'd ran a marathon by the time we'd finished.

If you love hills you'll love Whickham. Up for a challenge no better place to go, Par 71 plenty of diffrent looking holes. Good Luck !

Just played this for the 1st time. Fantastic course. Well kept by the green keepers as it's in great condition. Hilly but the hills are spread out and challenging too as trees on the fairway. The people and staff are very helpful and friendly. Defiantly going back as one of the best courses I have ever played. Well done to everyone involved at the course. I'm a 28 handicapper and played it on 95.

I played at the end of Jan 2022, course was beautial and putting greens were in play, all I'd ask for is signs to be put up detailing where the next tee is once you finished the prior hole. I finished hole 1 and was wondering where the hell do i go next.

Beautiful course. Love the fact that every hole has the 3 B's: bench, ball wash, bin. The only thing that I didn't love was that the course is loaded incorrectly for GPS golf watches. This meant I couldn't use my golf watch with this course. Otherwise, was really great and I would definitely golf there again.

First time that two friends and I played this course which was in excellent condition for the time of year. One winter green in play. Course is a beautiful park land course with a host of interesting features and challenges. Thoroughly recommended and we will definitely be back again.
