Reviews of Borth & Ynyslas Golf Club
M. L.
A superb traditional links course using the natural folds of the land.
Very narrow in places & with the wind off the sea a challenging round of 18. Well worth a visit.
M. A.
We had an excellent experience here. I suppose it helps that I scored my lowest ever round here! 😁 Wonderful links course, which really steps up a gear or 2 from around the 6th. Surprisingly quiet for a summer Sunday, as this course is highly regarded.

Really enjoyable days golf at Borth,
Beautiful weather, lots of sunshine, easterly breeze to keep us cool,
Typical links golf ,
Drinks and food excellent, very hospitable,
Will return when I can

Clean beautiful beach scenery is amazing anytime of the year.
Peaceful varied wildlife

Great links course , oldest 18 hole course in Wales , well worth a visit

Could be the best links course I've ever played. Wide fairways great greens. Well maintained. Definitely one to play.
E. Z.
A quite challenging golf course. Lots of tricky holes, it really helps having played here before. Green have some almost hidden slopes, green speed was slow. Played on a very windy day, a challenge in it self.
M. H.
Lovely beach to wander along. Amazing to see the ancient forest still here.
T. S.
I absolutely loved it. Borth is a classic links; 9 out, 9 in; thick rough if you miss the fairway; dangerous hazards such as roads and the sea. Even though the greens may be a bit bobbly, like any other links, this is a fantastic course surrounded by towering mountains along the Dover valley providing extraordinary views. This club also had a pitch and put for beginners and green tees for beginners going out onto the course. Make sure you visit the pro shop as they have a great collection of golf balls, around great place to play.
L. L.
Challenging links. Great reception at the club house, thoughrouly enjoyed it here.
N. W.
Very tight with a busy road running through the opening and closing holes, so you have to be aware and wait for traffic before playing shots. Spoils the enjoyment a little bit. They have also lost several fairways which have been re-seeded so you get some poor lies when finding the fairways. Once away from the main road, some much better holes among the dunes. An OK course rather than one I would be rushing back to play again.

Ynyslas is a lovely place to spend the day on the beach whatever the weather.
C. A.
Small coastal village plenty of little cafe and shops

Played the course before and have never been disappointed. Very friendly place always made to feel welcome. Must go down as one of my favourite courses. Greens this time round were the best they have ever been. If you want a class old school links with a sprinkling of Welsh hospitality then you will not be disappointed.

I was driving past this course and the weather seemed OK so I decided to play a round (on my own with my wife walking the course). They were happy to take my £20 in the Pro-shop so I changed my shoes an set off. The course was in perfectly acceptable condition for the time of year (November) - a number of the tees were off mats - some well forward of the proper tees. The greens were on the slow side but rolled true. It's an easy course to navigate and you can always see where you're going. The front nine was into a moderate breeze which I coped with quite well. The back 9 was down wind and everything fell in my favour allowing we to score 1 over par gross off a 19 handicap! Overall a 79 - my best score for a long time. After the round we went into the clubhouse for a coffee and received a very warm welcome from the members present. An enjoyable experience all round.

Absolutely brilliant golf course. Greens immaculate; fabulous sea views ... I would recommend a visit to all golfers. Wales needs to support this ancient gem ... it is unique and a seriously rewarding.

Great place to park for overnight, Great sunset

I love this beach and the dunes. A walk on the dunes on a boardwalk is very easy for those with difficulty walking. You can great views of the scenery. See birds like stonechats and linnets and of course, red kites and gulls.

Borth & Ynyslas Golf Club is a fantastic links course. The second hole has one of the toughest tee shots around with the sea on the left the wind normally coming off the beach blowing your drive towards the OB on the right side of the fairway witch looks the width of a runway from the tee 😂.There is some great unusual holes on the course some blind second shots in to well protected hidden greens. The Geens are always in great condition as are the fairways. If you're in the area it's a must for all golfers. The price could be slightly lower at around £30 it's not cheap but it is quality so go tee it up at Borth & Ynyslas Golf Club.

Fantastic. Golf course was in great shape, at a very reasonable cost. The food was also excellent a fantastic new caterer and the Sunday lunch was cheap and excellent a must try.
D. L.
Golf course is a proper Linc's course , it is near to a road so you have to be careful but there is enough room on most holes to keep away , it is next to the sea and does get very windy . Is expensive for a round but very cheap to join as a member .

Recently became a member - brilliant staff and club, and excellent training from John, the pro.
Highly recommended for beginners as well as those well versed in the game. Absolutely stunning views of the estuary and the mountains beyond.
C. M.
A fabulous course with some stunning scenery. Always tricky in the wind but a really good test of your golfing ability. Good value too
V. L.
A warm welcome from all those we met. The course was a little wet but still enjoyed the game. Will certainly look forward to playing the course when the Spring arrives

Today myself and family had a lovely carvary. Very reasonable prices, very relaxing atmosphere and probably outstanding views if wasn't for a cloudy wet day.

Borth is a marmite kind of place. You love it or hate it. I love it. It's quite with wide long beach. No arcades just pure family beach fun.
