Reviews of Birmingham Bouldering Centre

I've been going to Birmingham Bouldering Centre on a weekly basis (Covid restrictions notwithstanding) for a good few years now and have always found it to have a really relaxed vibe with very attentive and knowledgable members of staff - all climbers themselves - in attendance. A little gem.

Friendly staff, great coffee, nice range of routes to climb

Small, rough and ready, no bullsh*t climbing gym. Great selection of climbs. If you want a challenge, this is the place. Learned a thing or two from staff member. Glad I checked it out.

Staff are more than happy to help out a newbie like my self! Thank you folks and I'll keep coming back for some more bouldering extravaganza!

Can't fault it. Friendly welcome, easy form to fill out. A good range of problems (black green and a couple of purples for me). Coffee excellently priced and good. Will be back!

Really well run climbing centre. Handy location for snow Hill station and the city centre. Staff are always friendly and helpful. There are a wide range of routes for beginners through to advanced levels. Various other exercise equipment for finger strength available upstairs too. The cake a delicious! Gets busy of an evening.

My wife and I have been going to BBR for about 2-years, and have received nothing but smiles, support, encouragement, and expertise from the staff and other members. These attributes were so important when we were novices setting out on our bouldering journey... The centre is cosy and friendly, always has a mix of challenging routes, and serves excellent (and cheap) coffee and cake. There's a small but functional gym upstairs for working on your finger guns. Overall, this is an amazing place we love going to - it kinda feels like you're visiting someones house - I guess the owner has managed to create some hygge ;) Highly recommended, so if you are bored and at home, get your ass down here now!

Great place to spend a few hours. Friendly staff, reasonable price and lots of fun.

So far the staff have been exceptionally friendly, and the lunchtime £3.50 offer is a steal. Decent number of routes for me to get around as someone getting back into climbing after a year or so out of it. Every time I've visited there has been someone route setting.
Would recommend at least a look in.

Great climbing centre. Staff are dedicated to updating routes on a regular basis. Climbing holds are modern and feel good to grip rather than other gyms which use old plastic holds. A must go climbing gym!

My favourite place to boulder. Relaxed and reasonably priced :)

Love their offers and opening times being a student and all. The only time you will feel like spiderman and you can come back and challenge yourself on the difficulty of the wall... after a few stretches and yoga classes.

Fantastic, well maintained bouldering within easy walking distance of any of Birmingham's train stations.
And wow the cake... you should go just for the cake.

Excellent gym - good range of boulder problems, nice drinks and friendly staff!

Wow, how refreshing to climb on glassy holds and a smooth back board. Nice people, nice coffee and pukka setting. Looking forward to coming back

Fantastic staff, great food and coffee. Atmosphere on a sunny afternoon with the shutters open is one of the best you'll find around.

First time bouldering and the staff were super helpful and friendly. Very reasonable prices.

Quality routes and problems of all ranges

I used this place regularly while living in Birmingham, it has good routes, and a nice atmosphere

Frequently reset grips and friendly staff. To-hire shoes could do with some deodorant or more frequently replacing
