We went for the Lunch and Spa package, had an absolutely lovely time, brilliant food. The staff were lovely, helpful and polite. We had a very relaxing time there! I paid for my partner to have the Swedish Back, Neck and Shoulder Massage and he absolutely loved it. I would recommend to anyone if you want a relaxing spa day, drinks were not too pricey and food portion sizes were really good. Thank you so much to all the staff

Just got home from a spa day here. Lunch was lovely and good price. Lovely waitress took the cost of my drink off of the final bill as I had waited a long time for it to arrive.... I didnt ask for this and didn't think it took a particularly long time to arrive so that was a nice touch. Spa was lovely, treatments were very relaxing just a shame that you could hear people talking in the next room and walking past which took away some of the atmosphere. Pool area was nice, I didn't use the hot tub, sauna etc. Only complaint would be the lack of signage. I'd never been before and had no idea where anything was. Receptionist did tell me the basics but very quickly so it didn't all go in! It wasn't clear how to get from changing rooms to pool area or where to go for lunch. there is a small coffee bar just before the restaurant entrance which was confusing Staff were very friendly and helpful

My partner and I celebrated our anniversary with a spa day here and had a fantastic time! The massage treatment was exceptional, the facilities were great, although the sauna was a little too hot for me. We also had lunch in the restaurant which was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced considering the quality of the food. We will definitely be back!

Booked myself in for the morning escape with brunch for one. My treatments were great, very relaxing and I LOVE the relaxation room. My brunch was nice, it was very quiet so I had the dining room to myself. The food was lovely, JUST the right amount for me. The pool and saunas were also very nice. Overall, I believe access to spa facilities should be a human right and can I come live in the spa please?

My friend and I had a spa day here for the first time. The greeting we got from reception staff was lovely. She told us all about the facilities available and we booked a table for lunch as well. All of the staff were so lovely and friendly throughout the day, honestly we couldn’t fault them. We got into our swimwear and robes and made our way to the pool area. The pool area was lovely and relaxing and there were Sun loungers and chairs dotted around. The aromatherapy room was nice. We really enjoyed the relaxation room, this was so nice to chill in after lunch. The food is really nice and well priced. The conservatory where we ate had a lovely view of the terrace and the grounds. Our treatments were lovely. We had a mini back massage, a facial and a scalp massage. My only slight disappointment with the day was that when I booked we were told that we could choose from scalp, hand & arm or foot massage. But on the day we were told we were having scalp massages, given the choice I would have chosen a foot massage. None the less, we enjoyed the treatments and had a lovely day.

Lovely treatments and facility. Service in the restaurant was very slow - the wait for our meal was 45 mins + and had to skip another course due to treatment times. Otherwise staff were helpful and a lovely day. Would be great if there were more directional signs around from the changing rooms and everywhere for spa\treatment visitors.

Recently had a spa day here and it was lovely. Felt very relaxed and enjoyed my treatment. The only reason I haven’t given it a 5 star rating is that the dressing gowns don’t appear to cater for anyone particularly tall or on the larger side. Nether the less, I would recommend Bannatyne Health Club and would go back.

It was my very first spa ever and I've been around for a good few years believe, it was so good to spend time with family and have the wonderful experience. I cannot remember the name of my masseuse but she was a wonderful person and the massage was out of this world. The entire day was blissful and I pray it was the start of a wonderful birthday experience for my baby sister. Looking forward to doing it all over again

Really pleasantly surprised! Bannatyne spas in my experience are usually very dirty and uncared for, but this one has a lovely outdoor area, great food and drinks, and a nice spa pool, treatments and saunas. The pool area was a bit dirty, as were the windows which remained shut despite the intense heat. Otherwise a pleasant visit.

My partner booked my a special Spa day for my 23rd. The facilities were amazing the Heated pool really made you feel relaxed. Nice friendly staff. The relaxation room was really nice hot stones that you lay on really made you feel relaxed. I had 3 treatments whilst I was their from Sophie W. It was my first professional massage so I was quite wary but Sophie made me feel comfortable and definitely gave me a good insight on what to expect when getting a massage and facials. Also Sophie gave us recommendations on where to go out after which is always nice. Thanks Sophie and Bannatyne A+ from me

Spent an Anniversary morning here with my boyfriend. (Morning Escape package) Had a lovely body scrub with made my skin feel amazing afterwards and a facial included, which was also great and made me feel very glowy and clean. The brunch was amazing, such quick service and the food was delicious. With a supplement for the juices (because they only offered free tea and coffee) and my boyfriends full English breakfast. The pools were clean and relaxing but slightly busy for a Sunday morning, the hot pool was my personal fave. Which was like a large hot tub. The changing rooms were clean and tidy. If I had to fault anything the free flip flops didn’t come in big enough size and the showers/ changing areas could have a shampoo and conditioner/ lotion in like the other spas I’ve been too. Overall a lovely and relaxing time. Staff were helpful and friendly too!

Had a really nice afternoon here with a couple of girlfriends, lovely food and setting. But we were all a bit disappointed with the length of time of the massage, whilst it was lovely, it was advertised as 30 mins and ours was 15-20 mins at most and didn't include much of a neck massage. I understand that they need to allow time for changing etc but it really should be advertised as the accurate time. 10 mins is a lot of time to miss out on! The other issue is that we were refused a small glass of wine - we were told that you only sold 175 and 250cl. I said that a 125cl is a legal measure and that they surely have to sell it, but apparently they didn't have the measure and it's not on the till. We got around it by having a medium (and my driving friend sharing the wine) but still, you should be made aware of this as this size glass should be available to buy. Overall facilities lovely and staff friendly.

Relaxed environment, clean, very friendly and welcoming staff as well - kudos to the team! The only issue is that both times ive been, my partner and I have had to wait a long time for food; 40 mins for a bowl of chips, 30 mins for a pre-ordered afternoon tea - we had to leave due to time constraints so was somewhat disappointed by that. Otherwise, I'll definitely be back again, just maybe not for food.

Came here for first time as a birthday gift which included full use of spa facilities, lunch and a back neck and shoulders massage. The massage was fantastic and the food was perfect I had a KPFC mango & sweet chilli glazed chicken thigh burger, lettuce, tomato peri mayo, Cajun chips and my mate had the smoked haddock & chive fish cakes with creamy onions & leeks. Both very satisfied. The staff were all exceptional although the stand out staff that really made the experience were Nicola Rumble (food & beverage manager) Barry Anderson (Assistant restaurant manager) Robyn Elemis (accounts manager) & Rhea Jolly (front of house assistant) I would recommend bannatynes spa to anyone very impressed with the friendly and helpful customer service.

This spa is beautiful and welcoming from the moment you walk in. I was taken here as a treat for my second hen do by my family and friends. The manager was kind enough to let my friend set up a beautiful table. The food was amazing and they catered for gluten free so well. I have never been to an GF afternoon tea where i had to leave food because i was too full, normally it is dry and bland. Our treatments were perfect. The staff were so attentive and professional. We were lucky that it was a beautifully sunny day so we could enjoy the gardens. Which i must add are dreamy, the view is gorgeous and it is as relaxing outside as inside. I could not fault the day at all and we will definitely be back. Thank you very much for a beautiful, relaxing day!

My wife and i were bought a birthday gift spa experience. The staff were very helpful and attentive, the food was tasty and the massage treatment was very enjoyable. Its the little things that can be annoying though... you have to pay £20 for the robe and towel (money comes out from your account instantly) but when you return them for your £10 deposit that takes 2 days to return. Slightly annoying end to a lovely day but would still return.

Lovely spa with a nice pool and water jets. The grounds were beautiful, so it was delightful to have a drink in the sun looking at the view. It was a very good spa setting too, felt entirely comfortable walking around in robes, which isn't always the case in some places which claim to offer spa days. The one thing that let it down were the treatments. In isolation, they were good, but they were too short to really feel the benefit of relaxation, and you have to change rooms in between each of them. It would have been better to extend to one longer treatment, rather than trying to cram in a facial, back massage and head massage in 45 minutes. But for the deal we got, still a lovely spa day!

A group of us visited this weekend. The staff onsite, from reception to the restaurant to the treatment room were polite and friendly. Our treatments were fantastic and for the time and products I thought really good value and I had an amazing massage and facial by the lady who was my therapist. They are however let down by the main company/contact centre who despite us trying to contact multiple times prior to our visit, by phone, chat and messenger - we never got one reply. We were unable to have lunch together because of our treatment times which didn't bother us too much but perhaps if you are going for a special occasion this is something you might want to check. The facilities over all could do with updating in places, there were multiple things not working or out of order and perhaps if we have not got a deal on our spa i would have felt quite disappointed in paying full price for the facilities.

Nice place,very clean but understaffed. Had a 3 hour pizza and prosecco session but by the time we were booked in lost first 15 mins so only ended up with 15 for sauna and swim before treatments. Also told our meal was booked for straight after so no time to wash or relax before meal. Waitress forgot about us after giving us our drinks due to understaffing. Had chorizo and chicken pizza which was awful, great lumps of very chewy chorizo. Chips ordered as extra were fine. Towel/dressing gown extra if you don't have your own. Treatments were very good.

Would like to say a massive Thankyou to the young lady receptionist who fitted me in last minute this weekend for a birthday visit after being let down by another spa last minute! She was so polite and helpful! We had a great day with lovely treatments and facilities. The only negative I have is that one of the male receptionists made a comment when we arrived at 11am that we were obviously getting our monies worth if our treatment was at 4.30pm , found this to be an odd comment as I then felt like I was being stingy for using the facilities that we’d paid for? I’m sure this was not what he intended but did find it a bit awkward maybe I just felt cheap using my deal lol! He was very friendly other than that but maybe a better choice of words next time. ❤️

My wife and I went for day spa and afternoon tea. Staff were lovely throughout. We were greeted at reception and had the details of the day confirmed. We used the pool area first which was clean and covid compliant. Numerous loungers were available and were comfortable. The main pool was sectioned into fast and slow halves. A separate dip pool was lovely with jets and bubble areas. The water was a lovely temperature and everything was clean. Also available was a jacuzzi and sauna which looked OK but I did not use these. We then went for treatments. My massage and facial was given by Mihana (sorry if I spelled this wrong) who was attentive and very competent. The treatment was in a lovely room and was very relaxing. Afternoon tea was served in the traditional way and was lovely. Thoroughly recommended. I must also mention Hannah who was very helpful and knowledgeable in the Elemis shop.

I booked the Spa as a birthday treat for my mum. We had a fantastic time. The treatments were lovely and relaxing, the hot stone relaxation bed was fantastic. Lunch was ok, I found my dish to be a little bit on the oily side. But that certainly wouldn't stop me from booking again.

My daughter and I had a fabulous day today at Kingsford Park, the staff were very friendly and helpful from the moment we got there to the time we went. The swimming pool, hydro pool, steam room and aromatherapy sauna that we used were all well maintained, as were the changing rooms, with plenty of cleaning/antibacterial products around to use after your use. I thoroughly enjoyed my facial & massages given by Robyn, who was lovely & friendly & put you at ease from start to finish. I will certainly ask for Robyn the next time I go. We had lunch, which was really fab and very filling, I opted for the Bannatyne burger, which was huge but tasty & my daughter had the chicken & pesto sandwich, both came with side orders of chips. Although lunch was part of our Spa day package, all meals are reasonably priced. Overall, we had a fantastic day, very relaxing, this is my 4th visit to this Spa and I shall certainly be going again.

Had an excellent starter of creamed mushrooms on toasted bread. The sauce was rich with a generous portion of mushrooms. The main course was a different story. I had papardelle with aubergine and olives. Whilst the pasta was well made, the sauce was incredibly wet and under-seasoned, the aubergine lacking in flavour. The olives were left to carry the burden of adding flavour to an otherwise vapid dish, something they were unfortunately not able to do. I decided against dessert as I wasn't willing to spend £7.50, when based on the previous two dishes it would be a game of roulette.

Experienced during lockdown reopening, so some restrictions applied. Short stay in Colchester so decided to book in for a treatment at Kingsford Park with a friend. Nice location a little outside the town (we got a cab there). Used the "massage madness" offer (£39) and paid extra £20 each to make it a full body massage followed by facial (about 1hr25). Friendly staff and a very nice experience. I'm not a spa regular but I can see why people love them, very relaxing, covered in god-knows-what oils and creams, and surprisingly we didn't get any hard-sell flogging us products at the end! So definitely recommended.

My mum and I had a spa day at the weekend, the treatments we had were great and we loved our massages. However we arrived 25 minutes early and were told to sit down and someone would bring over some spa bags (which you have to pay £5 for - never been to a spa where you have to pay for hiring a towel and robe!) We were forgotten about and left until after our treatments were supposed to start. Even then we had to remind them for our spa day bags and ending up rushing up to our room for our treatments. Can't fault the massages and the staff were really lovely. The lunch was great and good value for money, however for the afternoon tea we were left for 45 minutes and saw people after us come, have their tea and go. We were told it was because I was gluten free so they would make my afterwards, which was a little annoying. Another thing that really let the spa down was their lovely pool area, where people had thrown their towels on chairs to 'reserve' them and gone off for lunch! When we went down it was around 1.30 and every seat was reserved with a towel. There were maybe 5 people in the Jacuzzi and two people on seats. Such a shame, we just went back got changed and sat in reception! (There aren't any relaxing areas to sit). Overall, great treatments but I wouldn't go there for a spa day.

Enjoyed my day spa experience as much as when it was Clarice House, actually possibly slightly more, due to the great relaxation rooms (hot tiled beds and eager beds). It was very very busy all day but the space could cope. Staff very pleasant, although they dropped the ball a few times with serving meals and drinks for my group. All rectified though. My massage and facial was excellent, so relaxing. Pool and jacuzzi area lovely. Only complaints would be that the doors to the relaxation rooms are constantly being opened (noisy door!) with the lights outside streaming in. Undoes all the good work! Second that that the chairs round the pool are uncomfortable, with wet or stained cushions and no comfy footrests. In a place like this I would expect a full length lounger and certainly better cushions! It might seem a small thing, but feels unhygienic and rather uncaring of the management! After all, lying on these is a large part of why we come and of where we spend our day. Food is very good. All in all a very relaxing and enjoyable day.

The spa day and the treatment was amazing the staff where very friendly and welcoming. The facilities where tidy and clean. The only down side to and the reason for a 4 star, was the food within the spa. Got my order wrong 4 times and the worker was rude as well. Plus we never recieved all of the food order for the afternoon tea which we was the drink. Trying to explain this to the people who ran the food part was even harder and in the end we gave up.

Second visit and still fairly disappointing! This time it was for my mum's 60th birthday. The treatments were good (hence three stars instead of the two I was going to give), but overall it was disappointing and I'm pretty sure we won't be coming back for a third visit. 1. We arrived 15 minutes before as per the email but were told this wasn't enough time to sort our spa bags (towel, flip flops, robe etc) and to go straight down to our treatments, so after our treatments we had to get dressed again and go back to reception to get our robes to then go and get changed. 2. The girls doing our treatments had been told we were there for facials and we had to explain and show our booking for massages. Not a problem, just poor communication. The treatments were VERY good so that was a definite highlight and credit to the girls who looked after us as they were lovely. 3. Food was shockingly slow. Ordered gluten-free two weeks in advance, also reminded them an hour before our slot, and they still look nearly an hour to bring it to our table. It was just afternoon tea, so we waited almost an hour for some sandwiches and cake (which were pretty standard. Not good, but not bad). It wasn't a particularly busy time, we counted four other tables and some had already received their food. 4. Everyone 'claims' a lounger round the pool, leaving their towels there while they go off for food/treatments, which meant there was nowhere to sit. We found one lounger for the two of us (not very relaxing) and there was only about 6 or 7 people in the pool area itself. So annoying as it means you can't make full use of the facilities. Overall, I would go back for an individual treatment but honestly wouldn't bother for a spa day or for the restaurant, unless you don't mind it being a bit of a disappointing experience.

Just finished up an afternoon with my friend at the spa and using the facilities, we used a Wowcher which is a good deal, although doesn't specify the timings for the treatments from the booking it indicates both treatments are 30mins each, my shoulder head massage was cut short and I had to complain, also after discussing with my friend her treatment was the same but she had a lot more technique's from her lady and even got offered a glass of water at the end. My massage was nice but after hearing my friends experience from both her back shoulder and head and leg massage I am quite disappointed that we both had the same treatments but hers sounded a tad more professional. The facilities were fine, bit out dated, standard pool sauna and steam situation. The lady on the front desk was really nice sorting out the timing issue but overall I'm let down with the treatment situation.

I wonder if there was too much chemicals in the water or something....If I use bleach to clean the house I have issues with breathing and I felt the same after just stepping into the pool area. Quite relaxing, however the pool area is very noisy with the water and chatty women. The treatment rooms are on the other side of the building. So you have to walk through the reception and restaurant felt a little awkward so i had to purchase a bag with a robe to save embarrassment. The food was a little odd. I felt the chef was trying a bit hard to make something facy but in the end was a little strange. Wine options were limited but the warm water beds were great.

We had no problems with check in, which was fast and efficient. They offer a spa day bag, one with slippers (£3) and one with flip-flops at (£5) and you get to keep the slippers/flipflops/bag. (But not the robe/towel). Thea pool area is lovely. Lots of loungers and large swimming pool. The sauna, steam room etc are also great. The gardens are pretty with lots of tables and sun loungers should you go on a sunny day. The restaurant food is very nice. Good sized portions and lots of choice. They have two small relaxation rooms (waterbeds/hot stone beds) which double up as a waiting room for treatments. It would be better if there was a separate waiting area as you can't really relax with people popping in and out all the time. I had a manicure, which wasn't great. The manicurist left a large gap between the nail bed and the nail polish, and I had to ask her to rectify that. Additional the polish only lasted for one day before chipping. I don't think I would have a manicure at a spa again as it came across as a rush job. My friends had massages and said they were good. Overall though a good day, which we enjoyed at a good price under there special offers.

Had the most wonderful experience at Bannatyne Colchester this week. The staff were lovely, treatments were amazing, and they have great facilities. The only thing I would mention is that we didn't enjoy the food very much. We only had some nibbles, but the bread was quite dry and we weren't entirely impressed with what we got for the price we paid (for food that is). Apart from that we had an amazing experience, just might reconsider ordering food next time.

Spa day with some friends, the good: the steam rooms, swimming pool and Jacuzzi is lovely and the setting tranquil. The Bad; the staff in behind the bar and food area and reception we encountered were not warm, friendly they were to the point like, came across as quite cold and uncaring! (Not nice!) The Ugly; the food costs were so over priced; a person with an allergy, when asked if they could remove something in one of the sandwiches the answer was NO! The only option to remain safe from harm was pudding, but not wanting to eat too much sweet food asked for a cup of tea and a scone, wait for it! £8.50 yes totally over priced. When looking upon returning home it was a cream tea for two, but what was provided was to not equivalent to that price or for two people, they totally abused the situation and took me for a ride, totally disgusted. Treatments out of the 4 people, all were really nice but two of the friends treatments started late, no apology when collected finally, then finished a little early, obviously they were trying to catch up on their time but to the disadvantage of the customer. The actual treatment was nice, just a little sad what happened. Overall a nice place, but over priced food, no real consideration for people with allergies (although there are notices everywhere!). There are areas that need to be improved as 'Everyone' should be made to feel valued and treated kindly and with care. Would we return, that is a big ????????

I have had many visits for spa days here very worthwhile and value for money! Facilities are extensive, length pool, jacuzzi, jacuzzi beds, sauna, steam, good changing facilities, hot stone beds and water beds. Rasul for extra cost. Treatment rooms are very nice and relaxing. If the weather is good the outside area is perfect for sun worshippers. Downsides: unfortunately there was a lot of sand in the jacuzzi bed area in the pool and had an unfortunate encounter with somebody elses used plaster. Paying £10 for bag with flip flops (which by now I have many) and robe hire is too expensive. I highly recommend taking ur own towels robe and flip flops! Very good overall experience. Therapists professional and always have been pleased with treatments. Highly recommend for larger parties they seem very well equipped.

Not sure I like the blacked out windows, either from inside or outside. It looks like it shut down. Such a shame as its a beautiful building and an even more beautiful location. The old shutters have been removed from inside as well. The windows have actually been sprayed with a black paint type of substance. Very odd. Love the venue usually, but this time the tables were not cleaned properly, no table linen or salt and pepper pots. No attention to detail and the meals were brought out one by one, with a gap in between, so my friend got hers several minutes before I did. It happened to another table, so was not just us. When the tables were finally cleaned down the cleaning fluid being sprayed around was toxic, people ended up coughing. Food ok 5/10, whereas it's normally 9/10. Perhaps we just went on an off day. Went on midsummer's day. Outside area good with all the sunbeds. Garden stunning as usual.

I’m using Bannatyne gyms for 3 years now, recently I transferred from Bannatyne Whitehall to Kingsford Park, everything it’s spot on, very helpful and friendly staff. The only problem it’s the chemical in the water, it seems to be way to much as for the last 2 sessions, myself and my partner been left with itchy eyes and shallow breathing (the effect of to much chlorine in the water), At the Whitehall centre they testing the water couple of times a day. If the pool water will be fixed I can say it’s the best Spa/gym I ever used !!

The chemicals wafting in the air above the pool made our eyes smart and the water through swim goggles was so cloudy that you could hardly make out where other people were. I have swum regularly in other pools over many years and have not experienced such poor water quality before. An expert needs to advise about correct use of pool chemicals.

Since Bannatyne took over 2 years ago the prices have increased by 30% and the treatment times decreased by 75%. Food quality has suffered too. Fortunately River hills in Ipswich is continuing the great Clarice house tradition. My advice head to Riverhills not Kingsford park.
