C. B. K.Been here twice so far and found my visits quite pleasant.
Swimming pool is good and clean along with the jacuzzi. Though last visit they had a temperature issue.
Steam room in female changing area was scorching hot so I couldn’t really sit down. Was advised they will have an engineer to check it but not certain if that’s been done yet.
Shame that we have to bring our own locks, though I often walk around with a padlock now because of one of the other gyms I go to as well as some climbing centres.
Do like the seating area, wish my home gym had a more inviting area that allowed me to chill and do a little bit of reading/work in the area for a bit.
I also really like their giant size towels! Most of the other London Nuffield have medium ones.
D.Starting with the great: brand new gym equipment, very wide range of machines/weights/etc. You'll find everything you need, and the gym is sparkling clean as it's just completed a refurb. The layout is open and spacious and staff are friendly but not invasive. The pool and Jacuzzi areas are also an asset to the club.
To the not so good: I have to deduct one star (probably should be two stars!) for the state of the changerooms. Despite refurbishing the rest of the club upon taking over from Virgin Active, I'm quite surprised that they didn't see fit to update the changerooms and wet areas. The men's showers are tired and in need of updating, and the lockers are old school and you'll need to bring a padlock, as another reviewer mentioned. It's a shame they didn't spend a bit more money to bring this up to par with the rest of the gym, as it would have truly been a top notch facility.
This aside, the gym equipment itself ensures this is a good choice for your workouts.
