An affordable gym that cuts on the costs by having keypad entry and minimal staff. The equipment is the latest. The pros is you can come and go as you please and get a good workout on the selection of free weights, aerobic machines and weight machines.. The cons is no staff mean people aren't as courteous as they would be when there are staff in attendance, nothing to clean and wipe down the equipment with, people do not replace weights and things go missing like clips, handles and bars as people either hide them for later use or steal them. This may have more to do with the type of people who go there due to the area than lack of staff so not all Pure gyms are the same.

Unfortunately the only thing wrong with this gym is the staff. Some of them are friendly, knowledgeable and generally great. However there are a few that are rude, ignorant and only care about getting their private lessons done. Equipment is good and gym is spacious.

Great gym. Clean. Friendly staff. Could open a little earlier for us early birds. This was thought to happen. But as yet - there seems no sign. Re: Are we any closer to having extended opening hours. Even if it was to open at 5am to foot traffic only. This would go a long way to assist us!

4 stars because it's well-priced for students (£20/month). Equipment is in good condition and usually only a short wait (if any) at off-peak times for machines. Shame about the ceiling constantly leaking and unnerving barriers around where the floor is caving in ...

i really love going to this branch on the weekends, as this is when it’s less busy. there’s free parking, the gym equipment and weighlifting areas are well cleaned, lots of mirrors, and tv screens, large enough spaces to do what i need to do. it would be a 5 star if it was only open for 24hours a day.

I've been a member since it opened (approaching 2 years). Good array of machines including treadmills etc. Classes of all types which are free I believe. I mainly use the machines for my needs. I recommend it.

This New GYM is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G I was sad when I learned it was changing to pure gym and they were getting rid of the pool but now I LOVE it! loads of extra space to train and loads of new ACE machines including hack squat and a proper leg press. I couldn't be happier now its changed looking forward to training tonight :D

A good gym and better than its sister gym in Finsbury Park as not too busy if you go at the right times. Finsbury Park seemed a bit like a social club for 16 year old boys once school was out. Here there’s always free treadmills and cross-trainers when I go but the weight machine area further into the gym can get a bit too busy and sometimes you either have to wait a while to use the machine or you can’t get on a machine you want to use to build certain muscles. As I do mostly resistance training, this stresses me out a bit when I’m pushed for time. The other weight area near the entrance is always full of men working on upper body so it’s good they have 2 weight areas as it can be a bit intimidating as a woman. However, as said, the weight area I use could be better. Also, please could you install another water fountain as there’s always a queue due to only having one! Thanks :)

I came to say PTs and staff are very unfriendly but noticed many ppl have said that before. I guess there’s not much hope then? How hard is it to say good morning these days? Other than that well equipped and clean (except for that leak that’s been there for months).

Great gym but the 23:00 closing time is disappointing, shift work means I often need to go after that time, I hope they look into this and address it soon also when it rains the roof is leaking in several places, hope this is addressed soon too

@ Sandy Nairne Give over you bunch of weapons I live in Kentish Town, you lot stapling posters to trees and campaigning to keep the pool open, is something you Highgate Mums get up to because you have nothing better to do in the days. LA Fitness where the pool was a £50 a month private health club not a community or council run establishment, which funnily enough, if you walk down a few more mins there is the beautiful Kentish town sports centre with three, you guessed it swimming pools which are subsidised by the local authority to get all ages swimming and fit and healthy.

Only has one of each machine. Even when the gym is not busy it is difficult to get a work out in. Personal Trainers often used up 2 - 3 machines at a time for 1 client. Not sure how the trainer's even get clients as they are not the friendliest. The cleaning stations are not stocked and no one wears masks.

This place is a little gem! It’s close to home which makes it a great option for me. I had a great induction with Chris who I would highly recommend working with. Coming back to the gym after a long break was overwhelming but Chris was kind, professional and also but me through my paces. I’m definitely considering PT with Chris after the new year! Highly recommend!

Great Gym - but desperately needs a few more squat racks! Doesn't make a lot of sense when half the gym is filled with cardio and no one using it and then the weights section is packed.

My direct review via PureGym was not approved for some obscure reason, so I will just post here. I have been going to this gym for some time. I like it, there are plenty of equipment and it is never overly crowded. I did go back after the lockdown and, while there are a few cleaning stations (I feel that there used to be more before the November lockdown), I think staff should also walk around a bit and clean equipment and encourage everyone to wdar masks between exercises/machines. I know that no one is apparently legally allowed to wear one (as a French man I find it surprising. Things are definitely stricter in France), there should be signs indicating clearly that this is strongly encouraged. Take your stand PureGym. You know that gyms have been a source of contamination, and probably continue being one, so be stricter.
