"I was born in Aberdeen... But I was made in Revolutions".
I've had Joe as my PT for around 6 months now and have visibly notacable results; despite the fact I'm partial to a heavy night out or two. Joe pushes me to my limits and, I'm pleased to say, I've hit nearly every target I set myself in terms of strength and body outcome.
Although Joe is my PT, the atmosphere in the gym is such that I feel I've formed a friendship with the other PT's in there too. Everyone is incredibly friendly and laid back. It's the first time in my life I've actually ever looked forward going to the gym.
A final bonus is Leo, the gym dog. If you're lucky enough you may catch his ridiculusly cute face there every now and again.

Started training with Alex after an injury kept me away from the gym for a while. Alex's enthusiasm and knowledge got me back on track and I was able to achieve my weight loss goals within the first 12 weeks. That was over 2 years ago and I'm still a regular - I love the atmosphere here - Alex and the team are super friendly and really know their stuff. There's a variety of equipment - machines, free weights etc - and you're never waiting for equipment like in other gyms. Love this place!!

I signed up with Revolution Holborn at the end of July 2019. I’m a guy in his late forties and I trained a lot, mainly running, but could not “get in shape” and my diet was becoming increasingly poor. I guess I was fooling myself that my daily gym workouts were enough to keep myself fit and healthy.
I could feel the weight creeping on over the past few years but It was the realisation of not being able to fit into a suit and having to cancel going to an event that focused my mind.
As I said I signed up in July 2019, I train with Joe (co-owner along with Alex) and from day 1 the encouragement and honesty around what I needed to do were exactly what I needed. The advice on nutrition was exceptionally important as well as a tailored program for my workouts which are always varied and provided a platform for me to achieve my goals. The fundamental technique around weights and exercise is so important and the workload that I achieve with Joe far outstrips working with weights on my own.
The results for me have been amazing, I’m 6ft 2 tall and in July was around 110 kilos, my body fat was in the high 20’s a bit of a mess! At the time of writing, I’m 87.5 kilos and body fat is 11.9%. My overall strength and muscle mass are far beyond what I thought I could achieve and seeing these results has only encouraged me more.
Having said all of this, one of the biggest factors at the gym is how welcoming and encouraging everyone is. Joe and Alex have built a gym that makes you feel that everyone is on your side. Having played Sport for a number of years the way they make the gym work is the closest you can get to being part of a team sport that is focused on you winning.
So if you think you can’t do it, you can. You just need the right attitude and to work with probably the best personal trainers in London, get in quick before they become famous.

Before training at Revolution, I was not sleeping well, I felt unhappy with my body shape and lacking in confidence.
I have never thought of myself as a 'gym person' so I was scared that I wouldn't be able to keep up and that the trainer might be too pushy which would not work for me. This was immediately dispelled at my free taster session. Emma sat with me and went through what I wanted to get out of my time, took my initial weight and body fat measurements and put me through my paces in a sample of what a normal session would be like.
I have been attending Revolution for a couple of months now doing 3 sessions per week. The atmosphere in the gym is welcoming and encouraging. Emma always explains the exercises I am going to perform and puts a major emphasis on proper technique. This gives me the confidence to push myself hard secure in the knowledge that I am not going to injure myself. From even two months ago I now look much trimmer. I have lost nearly 2 stone and I feel much happier with myself.
Training with Revolution is easily one of the best decisions I have ever made, and I would say to anyone considering it to get booked in for a taster and give it a try. I was scared at first of seeing a personal trainer, but it has been more helpful than I thought possible I now look forward to going to the gym after work. This is not something I ever thought I would say.

I’ve never been great at sticking to any sort of exercise routine – I would go through phases of going to the gym everyday to not going at all for a few months. I’ve never had much confidence in how I looked or felt. Eventually one night, I had a sudden urge to get my sh*t together and looked up personal trainers online, found Emma’s contact and sent her an email.
Honestly the best decision of my life – I’ve been going to Emma since early December twice a week and I feel much more confident in myself. I look forward to each session because it’s pleasant knowing that, even though I’ll have anxiety about going to the gym, going to Revolution I immediately feel welcomed and motivated when I get there to train with Emma.
I would most definitely recommend Revolution as it is such a welcoming environment and everyone who works there will say hi to you as you walk in and put the effort in to get to know you; it’s like you’ve joined a family!

Everyone working out in the gym has their own trainer, which makes for a really relaxed and none-judgemental atmosphere. Highly recommended!

After a training injury I needed to get back to the gym in a safe way and i was referred to Alex to help me do this. My sessions with Alex have been fun and varied, his knowledge and explanations makes me feel at ease knowing I'm doing the right things without causing further damage and if there is something I'm struggling with he always has an alternative option. The environment itself is bright and spacious with plenty of equipment and good facilities. Alex and Joe made me feel welcome from the start with their friendly and fun attitude making my early morning sessions much easier! I definitely would recommend!

Hitting my 30’s wasn’t great, the weight piled on and stayed on. I tried all the usual - diets, running, gym classes but nothing seemed to work! I nervously tried a complimentary session with Emma, I enjoyed it so much I signed up to the 12 week challenge. After week 10 I could really see a difference! I felt lighter, I had more energy and even had a regular period, which is something I had struggled with since the weight gain. I’ve now lost a whole dress size and feel so much more confident in myself. Emma is a fantastic, patient and knowledgeable trainer, she’s even helped me make better food choices - A real asset to the team. I’ve been training at Revolution Holborn for a year.
As a woman in my thirties, about to get married, I really wanted to look my best. After 12 weeks with the amazing Fiona, I lost 10kg and 8 inches off my waist. Since then we’ve worked on toning, muscle definition and overall fitness. Her advice on nutrition has meant I’ve kept the weight off and feel so positive about myself. The sessions are brilliant, always challenging but Fi manages to makes them fun. She’s completely supportive and guides you through everything. Fi also has a secret weapon: her side-kick Chloe the miniature Pom. Her fluffy enthusiasm makes even the toughest workouts bearable.
The gym has such a great atmosphere where all the trainers know you and support you through your workouts. Alex & Joe who own the gym are gems. The equipment is great and the changing rooms have a host of amenities which mean you can get to work without anyone suspecting you’ve spent the last hour sweating your guts out.

Good people do good things for others. That’s it. There’s nothing more or nothing less to say. That’s what you will get at Revolution Personal Training Studios at Holborn.
I initially started the 12 Week Transformation with Joe in March 2017 for an extra boost to my physique, overall appearance and primarily for my own vanity at the time. But nearly three years down the line I am still training with my PT Joe on a regular basis.
In that time I’ve progressed from squatting just 40 kilos to 60 kilos with full range of movement, deadlifting 70 kilos, and recently achieving a personal best of benching 30 kilos for 24 reps when I could only manage the 20 kilo bar when I first joined.
Joe has also helped me to understand that it is okay not to look the same all year round. I no longer look at food as either good or bad, but rather more or less nutritious and have an overall goal of a healthy diet that includes a variety of foods.
The forefront of training now is to focus on working towards improving strength, mobility and overall health, both physical and mental. The changes to my physique are just an added bonus.
Granted I still need to make many more improvements and have a number of things to work on each session. But I know overcoming these challenges will come with time so long as I have Joe and Revolution on my side.
Just to end this review. I would also like to say, thank you to my trainer. Thank you for being kind to me, especially this past year, even when I am a little bit weird, strange and generally awkward.
You are not like family, you are family. You are so much more than just PT JOE. x

Revolution Holborn is a fantastic place to be, fresh, new, clean, great atmosphere, very welcoming and plenty of high end gym equipment.
Before now I have always wasted money on gym memberships, gone to the gym sporadically and then lost motivation and ended up paying for something I do not use for months, before eventually cancelling my membership with no real results... and a lot less money in the bank.
With Revolution Holborn, this will not happen. The team, lead by Alex and Joe are genuinely superb and they really do care about you getting the best results you can get. I am personally feeling stronger and a lot more confident then I have in a long time. And when Alex isn't pushing me to my limits in the gym, he is checking up on me when I am not there, which I find very motivating.
Couldn't recommend these guys enough, get yourself down there, you shan't regret it.

I came to Alex extremely unhappy about my weight and figure and within a month of sticking to his food plan and work outs I'm feeling great within myself already.
During the sessions Alex pushes me as hard as he can, motivating me throughout and improving things like my form and positioning of my body so that I'm able to receive the best benefits from my work outs.
He check's up on my diet throughout the week and makes sure I'm staying on track which is exactly what I need from a PT as my biggest problem is inconsistency, so having someone check up on me and double checking I'm on target is great.
I would recommend Alex to anyone, no matter what level of fitness you are at. He is dedicated, motivating and best of all you really see results quickly if you commit yourself as much as Alex is committed.
The gym is lovely and easy to find as well.

I previously never wanted a personal trainer. I thought I could manage on my own and for years I did. Then life just got the better of me and I started to get into bad habits. Calling Revolution Holborn was a fantastic decision.
From day one, my PT Emma has been amazing and exactly what I needed. A trainer who cares about her clients, who has an holistic approach to transformation, someone who is meticulous with instructions - the smallest detail on how to lift weights changed me from being scared to lift with a knee injury, to feeling strong and in control with weights I never thought I’d be able lift.
I’m stronger, fitter, healthy and happier and I can’t thank Emma and the whole team at Revolution enough. On the days when I feel like the last thing I want to do is train, I’ve learnt that after a session with Emma all the stress and exhaustion of the day is gone and I feel great. I originally only planned to do the 12 week programme but within the first couple of weeks with Emma I was hooked and haven’t looked back since. Emma’s encouragement is so important in helping me stay consistent and focused. The added bonus is she’s a lovely person.

After gaining over 3 stone at university and feeling completely hopeless, I decided to start a journey with Emma at Revolution. My mental state was bad and my relationship with food was worse; I was worried that a personal trainer wasn’t right for me as I thought that they would be pushy and put too much pressure on me, but Emma knew right from my complimentary consultation what kind of methods would be the most beneficial for me & has been amazing in executing them. She does push me, but she also knows my limits, she can tell immediately when I need to do something differently or what I’m going to be capable of that day. For the first time in years I feel happy when I look at myself in the mirror; I feel fitter and stronger than ever before, and best of all I am motivated to keep working on it to maintain this feeling. Emma has not only helped me to lose weight & get physically fitter, but also to believe in and love myself. Her philosophy and outlook is amazing and it’s so inspiring to witness her journey alongside your own; it’s really reassuring to know that even the people who do this for a living go through the same struggles as you! I really can’t recommend her enough. The rest of the trainers at Revolution Holborn have been so friendly and accommodating; I thought I would be intimidated, but they put you at ease from the get go & the whole atmosphere of the studio is so relaxed and supportive. Fabulous and considerate environment.
Before beginning my 12-week transformation package with the team at Revolution, I felt self-conscious and uncomfortable with my body, to the extent that it was a real effort to go to the gym and work-out.
The team at Revolution welcomed my nervous self with open arms and put me at ease immediately. Whether this was down to the privacy of the studio itself (which is fabulously well-equipped), the understanding nature of the PTs or the marriage of the two doesn't matter.
For me, the best thing is to be able to work on my body with relative privacy and with a PT that I trust. Looking forward to achieving some great results!

This is a great place for people like me who lack the confidence or drive or enthusiasm to go to a gym. Before I started training with Alex at Revolution I had memberships to 2 gyms and subscriptions to 2 or 3 fitness magazines – none of which I used. I have tried personal trainers at big chain gyms in the past but I always felt that I was either just another punter or they focused on what was going on around them in the gym. This place isn’t just for the fatties, the thinnie’s, the muscley’s or the sporty’s. You’ll meet all sorts here and everyone that comes here is made to feel welcome and that taking care of your needs and goals are the most important thing for the trainers (they have male and female trainers). At Revolution, I get 121 attention that focuses on MY needs and MY goals. The trainers here drive you with exercises, tips, dietary guidance and motivation to be the best you can be. There is a great relaxed atmosphere so it’s not all work and no play. Highly Recommended!

I looked into PT to do some conditioning work to help treat/prevent the injuries that have stopped me doing the sports I enjoy on and off through my 30s. Alex cheerfully showed me what my weakness were, and equally cheerfully set about helping me resolve them; I'm already seeing a great increase in core and knee stability after a handful of sessions. Alex has a great knack of knowing much better than me what my limits are, and of encouraging me to push myself to them. He's also written up an exercise programme for me to do between sessions so that I get maximum benefit. I'll be towing aeroplanes in no time...
The team are welcoming, the gym is bright and spacious, and the equipment is brand new. I genuinely look forward to going along there.

Joe and Alex have opened a great new studio at the old Wagamama site just off Coptic Street. I came with them after training at the Islington Revolution for 2 years. The studio is brilliant; bright and filled with top notch kit. J and A are both great PT’s and help you to reach your goals in a ( mostly) fun way. I can’t recommend them highly enough. Also good value when compared to throwing money away on gym memberships that you never use.

this is absolutely the bees knees, dog's bollocks, or any part of the animal anatomy you care to name. super personal and friendly, Revolution is about finding the right route to fitness for you. The trainers are all really enthusiastic and friendly, will take the time to find out what you want and will help you get there. The cost of the service is more than offset by the results. I've been raving about it to everyone i know in person - happy to do so online!

As someone who already had a high level of fitness, I was running out of new challenging exercises for my strength sessions. I wanted to build more muscle mass and strength but without compromising my cardio training. Joe really took the time to understand exactly what I wanted to achieve and continues to introduce new ways of maximising my workout.

The essence of this gym is not its pristine equipment, central location, spotless commodious shower rooms, but its atmosphere of community, endeavour, joint achievement and friendliness. This is not a gym where massive bodybuilders or fanatical fitness freaks dominate; instead, all shapes and sizes are encouraged to achieve realistic goals and gain in fitness and happiness.
The owners, Joe and Alex, are charm personified, as are their team of trainers, and add to this Leo, Joe’s delectable Maltese Poodle, who will, when exhausted after legs day, leap onto your lap and lick your nose making (almost) all the pain worthwhile.
Amazing results of weight loss and fitness have been achieved by this bijou gym but, in addition, it can also preserve sanity and happiness. I cannot recommend this training studio more.
