I have been with Practical Pilates for over 12 years now and it’s one of the best things I have done. If I have a break for a week from Pilates I really notice the difference with my back and hips, the stiffness and pain comes back. I do a Tuesday class ( virtual) with Marie and really enjoy it . She is an excellent teacher and also has a lovely manner so I look forward to it every week.

Practical Pilates is professionally run and all instructors are fully qualified and friendly. I love every moment of my Pilates class and always feel the benefit of every stretch and every exercise. I highly recommend them.

I cannot recommend Practical Pilates highly enough! Each instructor I have been taught by is a consummate professional. I began my Pilates journey roughly six years ago. I've suffered from a bad back for a number of years, which, one day resulted in me getting stuck on the floor, and after twenty four hours having to be taken to A&E by ambulance! I went to see a physiotherapist in Singleton Hospital and attended 'back class' for six weeks or so. We were told that we had been doing Pilates and should look for a class. The physio recommended Practical Pilates and so my journey began, properly!
I found a beginners slot and paid up and started my class. Initially I thought I would only need to attend for a few months, learn some of the exercises and I would be able to carry on myself at home! Well, after the first lesson I could feel muscles I didn't even know existed - Pilates may not look tough to a casual observer, but small movements can make a HUGE difference to the exercise that you are performing. In the first few weeks of my journey I looked around the hall as women more than twice my age (I was then 38) were able to perform some of the Pilates positions with ease that I was struggling with at best! Pilates is fantastic for core strength and balance, as well as an opportunity to lose yourself for an hour! When I first joined the class I was the only fella there - some men may feel intimidated by this, but it's worth knowing that some of the most tenacious sports stars also practice Pilates - Lebron James, David Beckham, Andy Murray and Kobe Bryant to name just a few!
I LOVE Pilates and aim to improve and have moved up to an intermediate class. The challenge was certainly worthwhile - the instructors are incredible. If the Practical Pilates instructors can't inspire you to do Pilates nothing will! In the classes you have the option to do a higher level or stick with what you can do. The feats of strength alone are incredibly impressive! I wish someone had mentioned Pilates to me YEARS before I started doing it. If you had shown me a video of the hundred I would have laughed if you said I may enjoy it! I do though, and the sense of achievement I felt when I could do a whole hundred was something else! I no longer have the back issues I used to have, my posture has improved and I'm definitely stronger! Thinking of doing Pilates? Join Practical Pilates! You won't regret it! Worth every penny.

I have been with Practical Pilates for 4 years now. I joined after having surgery on my right knee and having had a heart procedure, wanting a whole body workout but also to focus my mind. I had trained in the gym for years and incorporated Pilates exercises in my work-outs, but I have learnt so much more during my time with Practical Pilates and my core strength, posture and mental well-being have improved significantly. All teachers are excellent and take the time to ensure you are doing each move correctly. They have adapted their business throughout the Covid-19 pandemic and the on-line classes have been brilliant. I would highly recommend this company and can't imagine being taught anywhere else!

I started going to Pilates with the advice of my Physio as I have some arthritis in my back. A close family friend was already going to Practical Pilates and a space had just become available so I started almost immediately.
I really enjoyed it. The class were very friendly and welcoming and the instructor Elfed was great. His instruction was concise and he would also demonstrate the more complicated moves first. He would run the class with some humour and even though we worked continually throughout the hour the time went very quickly.
Not only did I find these classes very beneficial for the arthritis in my back but also my mobility throughout my whole body had much improved.

I have been a member of Practical Pilates for the last 16 years, I originally took up pilates to help with my pelvic floor after giving birth to a very large baby boy!! This worked wonders, and helped towards getting my life back to normal and regaining my confidence.
I was then hooked, I loved having that 1 hour a week where i could just focus on me, getting my mind and body inlined.
Fast forward to present day I am still practicing pilates and now in an advanced class, I am reaping the benefits of a strong core,. I do a lot of running and because of pilates I have been relatively injury free. I always describe pilates as a work out from the inside out.
the other plus side is a flatter firmer tummy which is a feat in it's self once you hit 50!!
I have recently had a 1 2 1 with Emma on the Pilates reformer, This was amazing totally different level, all exercises were very well taught and explained and helped massively with a little niggle I had on my shoulder .
Pilates is definitely something I will be continuing into my old age. There is a level for everyone to enjoy and see the benefits

I have been attending Practical pilates for many years, starting as a beginner, and have always found all the instructors knowledgable, patient, giving clear instructions, good one to one detail and providing a safe class. The instructors often indicate different levels for the more challenging exercises as even in a class of 'intermediates' there are differences between us, and between different exercises. I am still learning new things and find the lessons interesting even though with the current lockdown the classes have to be virtual, there is still some interaction with the other members of the class at the start and end. When attending in person it is lovely sometimes in the summer to be able to go outside of the school hall to have the class in the fresh air.

Practical Pilates take into account everyone’s individual needs, the classes are fun and you can work to your own limits. Would highly recommend especially if you are spending all day sitting still on zoom😊
