I traipsed around all 5 local DIY woodstores with no luck. All I wanted was a few batons with which to make trellis but all were out of stock. Then, I was directed to Chandlers down by the lagoon.. .. I'm not a regular at builders merchants and was a little worried that I was out of area lumber-wise. It couldn't have been easier! Cheaper by far than the 'Famous Five', I was offered help by a smiling, knowledgeable and very helpful 'wood man'. He helped me select the right wood, cut it to size, load it- and smiled all along the way..... After 5 'sorry, can't help yous' this was almost a lottery win!!! Simple, helpful and cheaper than DIY stores, bring it on!!! Can't pretend to have asked if there were toilets here but hey ho, these guys can probably build one in 5 mins!😁 Will definitely recommend Chandlers to whoever.

This place is great the staff are really nice and helpful. The price and quality of the timber is great. I have been building a studio and have been to most of the building merchants and these guys are by far the best. The only thing I would say is that the screws and sealants are about much more expensive than Screwfix. But still worth going to for everything else.

Usually you can get exactly what you want at a good price. Some of the staff are helpful. But often you have to queue for a long time and on my last visit I'd ordered something, confirmed I wanted it and when picking up I queued for 15 minutes only to be told they'd sold my items to someone else! Then told me it was because of the way their computer system worked. Not good enough. So some good things and bad things but generally I've always been happy with products and prices which is the main thing.

I went to buy timber for a bed frame for my baby and had no idea what I needed. They were very keen to help me and explain what I would need exactly according to a plan that I had with me.

Could get an answer and when I finally did got a rude response. If you need anything contact other branches of Chandlers. They are a lot more helpful in Ringmer. I gave 3 stars as a really good company (5 *) but this branch according to my experience only would deserve 1*.
