It was refreshing to walk into a builder's merchant and receive good customer service. As an enthusiastic DIYer I usually get a bored look and barely a grunt at some yards, but this place was really friendly and approachable. The kitchen showroom is substance over style. Stuart doesn't do the high pressured sales pitch, just a really knowledgeable run through of the different products and a willingness to listen to what you are trying to achieve.

I recently placed an order with this company for fencing based on the recommendation of my gardener, they squeezed my delivery in within 2 days. I called back the next day and added on a flagstone order and they added it to the same delivery. The people I spoke to were extremely polite and courteous and very helpful. The items were delivered on time and the driver was very professional and polite. Upon uploading later we found we were one concrete post missing, I called Maddens the following day they apologised and delivered it within the hour. Fantastic! The quality of the items is extremely high especially the fence panels they are thick and very well made, everything was really high quality and well packed. I cannot rate this company highly enough and will definitely be using them for all our future projects.

I've been using Maddens for ten plus years (previously owned by Marshalls). Very good service received from Bill. Some prices are higher than B&Q and Wickes but never the less its still a good local company
